The End of an Era, and... (The (ジ) End (エンド) of (オブ) An (アン) Era (イアラ) , And (アンド) — Ji Endo Obu An Iara, Ando—?) is the fortieth volume of the My Hero Academia series.

Cover and Volume Illustration[]

The title is printed in a dual-tone white and black with a red background. The Japanese for the title is printed transparent with a black border. The author's name is printed in white with a black border in the bottom right hand corner.

The cover features Toshinori Yagi in his Armored All Might armor, striking a pose in front of a red silhouette of a shouting Katsuki Bakugo, all against a plain white background.

The illustration features Toshinori angrily facing off against an equally angry, teenaged All For One.

Volume Summary[]

Only one man is walking away from the epic rematch between All Might and All For One. All Might's superpowers may be long gone, but he's no less of a superhero as he throws everything he's got at the diabolical mastermind. Meanwhile, All For One wants nothing more than to reach Tomura, his ideal vessel. With the whole world watching and All Might hanging on by his fingernails, one young protégé of his might have to step up to save the day.

  • The illustration pays homage to the cover of Chapter 309 from Dragon Ball, with All Might and All For One taking Goku and Frieza's places respectively.
    • The volume was also released in Japan about a month after Akira Toriyama passed away.
