You're your father's son, aren't you? Why were you even born? Why do you even have those wings?
Tomie Takami to Keigo in "Like Those Tragic Tales"

Tomie Takami ( (たか) () () () () Takami Tomie?) is the wife of Takami and the mother of Keigo Takami.[1]

Appearance[]

Tomie is a middle-aged woman of average height with thick, feathery, and dullish copper-colored hair that drapes to her shoulders, more similar in appearance to the down of a bird. She has sunken, gray-blue eyes, with two additional eyeballs floating around her head.

She's seen either wearing a tight, white dress in black horizontal stripes, or baggy dress with long sleeves that matches her eye color.

Personality[]

Tomie is a very emotionally barren and broken woman. She holds a deep love for her husband, as she was the one who saved him from the authorities when he committed a murder, and often wished him to stay with her at the house whenever he went out. Despite this, their relationship was extremely stressed due to the circumstances of their union and because of the unintentional conception of their son, which forced them to stay together.

Because of this, Tomie had a rather negative relationship with her son, doing nothing as her husband would subject him to physical abuse and not giving him any sort of emotional support. In fact, after her husband was caught and arrested, once forced on the streets, Tomie even asked her son why he was even born and what good were his wings if he couldn't do anything useful with them.

However, when Keigo managed to get them assistance from the Hero Public Safety Commission and allowed Tomie to start a new life, it appears that she started to regret the way she treated him before. When she was confronted by Villains and forced to reveal the truth about her husband's past, she wrote a letter to her son, apologizing for revealing his past and choosing to leave as to not cause him any more trouble while telling Keigo how proud she was of him.

Despite her improved mental state after being taken in by the Commission alongside her son, it is evident that Tomie still retains a level of her previous cowardice now mixed in together with her more positive feelings for him. This is seen with her still not having been shown to have owned up to her previous mistreatment towards Keigo. After she was threatened by Dabi's thugs and revealed her family background to him, she chose to flee from her own home in order to avoid directly confronting her son over what happened, while also wanting to avoid causing him any further trouble due to their relationship and past being leaked to the Villains and the general public.

History[]

At some point in the past, Tomie met her husband, Takami, and harbored him after he committed a murder over some pocket change. During this time when they were on the run, Keigo was conceived, and they were forced to live in isolation.

During their time on the run and while Keigo was growing up, Tomie did relatively little in his development. At one time, when Keigo was being boisterous and demanding to go outside, Tomie chose to take him out in order to make him quiet. While in a marketplace, Tomie chose to purchase an Endeavor doll for her son, telling him to become as strong as him in the future.

Later on in the future, when her husband returned home and told Keigo never to leave the house, Tomie told her husband that the television was broken. Not caring at all, her husband demanded that she find him a new job while lamenting how he'd be free as a bird if Keigo had never been born, all while Tomie asked that he not leave.

Eventually, her husband was caught and arrested by the then No. 2 Pro Hero, Endeavor. Fearing that she'd be caught and arrested for harboring a fugitive, she left her home with Keigo. Unfortunately, due to not having the skills necessary to keep herself afloat or the right mental state to work properly, they were forced to live out on the streets. When Keigo explained that they should go to the police, Tomie replied that he go and find a way to make some money. She then asked why he was even born or why he even had those wings at all.

Determined to be useful, Keigo used his wings to save multiple people from a high-speed crash. The Hero Commission found him, and after being informed of their situation, they approached Tomie, offering her protection and the chance to live a new life so long as they erase any connection to the Takami name. Tomie accepted their request and became compensated by the Hero Commission, living a much better life in a more luxurious home.[1]

Synopsis[]

Prior to the start of the Paranormal Liberation War, villains sent by Dabi broke into Tomie's home and threatened her to tell them about her son and his past, and fearing for her life, told them everything about her husband's past as a criminal.

After the confrontation, Tomie chose to leave as to avoid causing her son any trouble, writing a note to him explaining what happened and how proud she was of the person he became.[1]

Abilities[]

Quirk[]

Unnamed Eyeball Quirk: Tomie's Quirk gives her an extra pair of eyeballs that float around her body, allowing her to observe things from additional angles. Due to her living situation and her husband's praise of it, it can be assumed that she mainly used it for surveillance and keeping watch for people, particularly law enforcement.
