The Realist (リアリスト Riarisuto?) is a villain from My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions.[1]
Appearance[]
The Realist is a bald man of average height in a black hoodie with a large white "R" on his chest. He has black makeup running in a straight line down his face, beginning under each of his eyes.
Personality[]
The Realist is a very dedicated and disenchanted person, and was once a big fan of idols, to the point of asking an idol he followed to go on a date with him. However, upon being turned down and insulted by his idol, he became extremely bitter and strongly hates the idol industry, swearing to use his Quirk to expose idols who financially exploit and abuse their fanbases. However, part of his motivation to show others the truth, is to selfishly make them as miserable as he and his allies were after being rejected by their idols.
Synopsis[]
At some point in the past, The Realist began following an idol as an ardent fan for years. He went to one of her meet-and-greets and asked her to go on a date with him, but was turned down and accidentally used his Quirk to reveal how disgusted the idol was of him and all her fans. Bitter and rejected, he found others who had been in the same situation, and they formed a group dedicated to getting revenge on the idol industry by exposing the selfishness and greed of its idols.
The Realist began visiting idol shows and using his Quirk to ruin the idols' reputations by forcing them to confess their true, negative thoughts and feelings about their fans. His actions eventually got the attention of the Heroes, who correctly determined he would be at a local idol con. A Team-Up led by Mirko and consisting of Itsuka Kendo, Pony Tsunotori, and Kinoko Komori from Class 1-B were dispatched to track him down.
At the con, The Realist ran through the crowds of people and used his Quirk on the various idols, causing them to say greedy things, argue amongst each other, and resulting in their fans becoming hurt and outraged. Eventually, however, he was spotted by the heroes, who were disguised as idols. He attempted to use his Quirk on them, but was incapacitated by Kinoko and Pony before being arrested.
Abilities[]
Quirk[]
Unnamed Truth Inducement Quirk: The Realist's Quirk allows him to force anyone he touches to tell their true thoughts, unprompted. Victims of the Quirk have no knowledge of being under its effect, they simply feel like they are blurting out their thoughts.
