Tenko Tejina (
Appearance[]
Tenko is a young man with straight, medium-length hair, often sporting a big grin on his face. As part of his job, he wears a traditional mall clerk uniform along with a hat.
Personality[]
Tenko is a helpful employee at Got-It-All Mall who serves and guides customers with a bright smile on his face. He does his job in an earnest, slightly overzealous manner and is determined to help whoever he can, even if it's too much for him.
Having been turned down from various jobs due to how easily his Quirk could be used to steal things, Tenko is determined to prove himself as loyal and hard working as a way to thank Got-It-All Mall for hiring him. Because of this, when All Might's April Fools buckle was stolen from its exhibit, he immediately grew fearful that he would be placed as the primary suspect. However, when he came across the culprit, he was surprised to instead be thanked for finding the buckle and was recognized by his manager and colleagues for the honest, hard worker that he is, something that left him grateful and overjoyed.
Synopsis[]
Hitoshi Shinso arrives at Got-It-All Mall, wanting to go shopping before his training with Shota Aizawa, who also requested that Hitoshi pick something up for him. While there, Tenko greets Hitoshi and introduces himself with his card, offering to help Hitoshi find what he's looking for. As they go around, Tenko introduces Hitoshi to the mall's facilities, including a café ideal for studying as well as a Hero costumes and items exhibit, which Hitoshi finds neat. Tenko states that it was their manager's idea before trying to help an employee carry some boxes up to the top floor, another employee with stocking some shelves, and a customer carrying several heavy bags. Tenko tries to carry the load all at once. The customer asks if he's alright, but Tenko assures him that ensuring customer wellbeing is his top priority before everything he's carrying tumbles down on him.
Hitoshi ends up helping Tenko clean everything up, to which the latter thanks him with fervor, calling him a saint and offering to shave his own head for imposing on him. Hitoshi tells Tenko that he can just help him like normal, but Tenko states that he has to work harder to earn people's trust more than anyone.
Tenko soon demonstrates his Quirk, Conjure, to Hitoshi by warping a toy bunny right into his hand. He explains that since his Quirk could easily be used to steal things, most employers have been unwilling to hire him. Hitoshi states that his Quirk is holding him back, but Tenko reveals that Got-It-All Mall hired him anyway and that he must work hard to prove that he is a loyal worker who can be trusted. The two are soon spotted by Izuku Midoriya, Hanta Sero and Tenya Ida who are there shopping for things to welcome Hitoshi when he transfers into the hero course. The three follow them around and after buying some stuff they think Hitoshi will like, they drop by the Hero costumes and items exhibit at Izuku's request.
The exhibit is filled with vintage hero memorabilia, much to Izuku's joy, and the three students soon come across All Might's April Fools buckle; a near-identical belt buckle to the Symbol of Peace's hero costume that he only wore once during an event celebrating his first five years of hero work, with no one of the 100,000 people watching the ceremony noticing the mere differences. Izuku soon notices however that the buckle on display was in fact a forgery, and that the real one had been stolen. Security are soon called to the scene and Tenko is briefed on the theft. He quickly begins to freak out, believing that he'll be the number one suspect because of his Quirk. Hitoshi tells him that he didn't do it however and to just be upfront and honest about it, but Tenko, fearing the worst, runs away.
Hitoshi, Izuku, Hanta, and Tenya end up finding the real thief; a security guard who was working with an accomplice, thanks to Hitoshi picking up on the former's body language and reading his lips, confirming that he had the item and was heading to the car in the parking garage. Hanta and Tenya use their Quirks to stop the thieves from getting away, and Izuku ends up punching the driver out of the parking garage, still holding the buckle. The driver lands outside of the mall, right in front of Tenko, who retrieves the belt buckle. The mall's manager along with a staff member and security guard soon find him. Tenko pleads that it isn't what it looks like, but the manager thanks him for finding the stolen item. Tenko is surprised they don't suspect him, but his colleague states that he's the hardest working guy on their payroll and that they would never suspect him of being up to no good with his Quirk. This moves Tenko to tears and the U.A. students are happy that the buckle is in safe hands.
Tenko soon calls out to Hitoshi, realizing that the only person who doubted him was himself and swears to do his best to be upfront and honest. Hitoshi remarks that Tenko ended up getting all the credit for catching the thief, with the clerk saying that it was weird because he didn't really do anything. Tenko does however, point out that the moment the thief fell from the parking garage, he saw the figure of someone else, someone who looked like a hero, with that person turning out to be Hitoshi himself.[1]
