Tamaki Amajiki grade school

Tamaki introducing himself as the new kid.

Tamaki Amajiki transferred to his new school during the spring. On his first day as a third grader, Tamaki could not give a proper self-introduction, and after the opening ceremony where they moved into the classrooms and formed groups, Tamaki was not able to insert himself into any group because he lacked the courage.

Due to considering himself a boring person, Tamaki was not able to make any friends. Suddenly, Mirio Togata approached him after realizing that Tamaki was trying to say that he likes Heroes;[1] it was this recognition that began the friendship between Tamaki and Mirio.

In middle school during a Quirk Education class, Tamaki tried manifesting something but only managed to manifest a tiny plant on his hand due to his nervousness. Meanwhile, Mirio tried phasing through a wall but only managed to phase his hands through it. Some of Mirio's classmates laughed at Mirio's struggles, but Mirio was not disheartened at all and resolved to pull off his phasing properly next time. While walking home, Tamaki praised Mirio's optimism while lamenting his own lack of self-esteem.

Mirio cheered up Tamaki and said that he will shine brightly like the sun and the reason he can give it his all is due to Tamaki being there for him. Although he was nervous, Mirio praised Tamaki's resolve to never give up which inspired him to do the same. Despite Tamaki's low opinion of himself, Mirio always thought of Tamaki as a talented person who is cool and super fun and sunny to be around with.[1]

After middle school, Tamaki and Mirio entered U.A. High School, where they were in the same class as Nejire Hado. She had gained a reputation for being distant from everyone and supposedly looking down on them due to her powerful Quirk. Despite this, Tamaki awkwardly tried to befriend her, asking her what hero she is a fan of. This eventually grew to her becoming friends with Tamaki, and subsequently Mirio, and they worked their way to the top, becoming The Big 3 of U.A.[2] Tamaki chose his hero name to be Suneater, a name that was inspired after Mirio told him that he would outshine the sun.

Synopsis[]

Shie Hassaikai Arc[]

The Big 3 (Anime)

The Big 3 visit Class 1-A.

Tamaki, Mirio, and Nejire visit Class 1-A and explain about the hero internships. When Shota Aizawa asks them to introduce themselves, Tamaki is overcome with anxiety and struggles to imagine Class 1-A as potatoes. Eventually, he gives up trying and turns around.

As Mirio challenges the whole class, Tamaki warns Mirio to hold back so he will not completely frustrate his enemies when they lose. When Class 1-A marvels at Mirio's Quirk, Tamaki thinks to himself how inexperienced they are for not recognizing all the hard work Mirio needed to refine and master his Quirk. In a few minutes, Mirio has defeated half of Class 1-A.[3]

Tamaki Amajiki watches Mirio fight Class 1-A

Tamaki observes Class 1-A fight Mirio.

Tamaki overhears Izuku Midoriya rallying his classmates to form a strategy to counter Mirio before they are taken down, despite their determination. Nejire points out to Tamaki that Mirio has gotten very strong, only for Tamaki to reply that he has been strong since he was a child but that he needs to learn to go easy on amateurs. After the battle, Class 1-A is frustrated because they did not know how to fight Mirio's Quirk. Nejire wants to explain how his Quirk works but Tamaki tells her that it is Mirio's time to speak.[4]

Among all the 1-A students, Eijiro manages to catch his attention, so he decides to invite him to participate in the Work Studies with him at the Fat Gum Agency.[5] Once there, the BMI Hero Fat Gum is surprised that Tamaki has brought someone, and remember that Eijiro was one of the best participants in the Sports Festival. Fat Gum does not hesitate to compare him with Tamaki, whose nervousness always makes him be among the last. Tamaki is saddened by these statements.[6]

Fat Gum Work-Study

Fat Gum takes his interns out for patrol duty.

In the Kansai Region of the Esuha Market, Tamaki and Eijiro Kirishima are patrolling the streets with Fat Gum. Fat Gum tells Tamaki that they need to fix his terrible mentality of his since he has a lot of talent, which stresses Tamaki. Tamaki thinks that the only reason Fat Gum scouted him was that he wanted to torment him, although Eijiro reassures Tamaki that Fat Gum was trying to encourage him. Tamaki states that because he is not one of those optimistic Heroes like Mirio, to which Eijiro replies that he is not like that either, and there have been many desperate times where he could not do anything and he wants to close the gap so that he can stand amongst his fellow classmates.

Tamaki Manifest Combo

Tamaki knocks out a criminal.

Suddenly, a fight breaks out with a thug attacking another group of thugs for doing business on his turf. The group of thugs manages to get away, only for them to land into Fat Gum. The thugs start submerging into Fat Gum's body. However, one of the thugs manages to escape from Fat Gum's body using their Quirk. The thug starts running away but is caught by Tamaki's octopus tentacles. Tamaki uses his octopus fingers to reel the thug in and slashes the thug through the face with his clam hand, which defeats the thug.

Tamaki wonders if he did a good job, to which Eijiro replies that he was awesome. Fat Gum comments that Tamaki's Quirk has already been outclassing many Pro Heroes and the only aspect that he needs to focus on is his mentality, much to Tamaki's loathing. The crowd cheers for Fat and Suneater, but Tamaki gets easily embarrassed. In the crowd of civilians, there is a man who takes out a gun, wanting to help his brothers which are the group of thugs. Fat Gum takes notice of this and yells at the crowd to get down.

Tamaki gets shot

Tamaki gets shot.

The man fires the gun that releases a special bullet that hits Tamaki. The man fires another bullet, but Eijiro protects Tamaki and is hit instead. Fat Gum rushes to Eijiro and Tamaki's aid. However, Eijiro activated his Hardening before the bullet hit, which caused the bullet to simply bounce off him, much to the man's shock. Angry, Eijiro yells out that he will capture the man.[7]

Tamaki manages to stand up with no injuries from the bullet, which shocks the man who fired the bullet. Tamaki attempts to capture the criminal who fired the bullet but is unable to activate his Quirk. The man begins running away while Eijiro and Fat Gum chase after him. Fat Gum orders Tamaki to stay and guard the area while Tamaki replies that while he is not injured, he cannot activate his Quirk, which surprises Fat Gum.[8]

Tamaki is ashamed of himself

Tamaki is ashamed.

While Fat Gum and Eijiro deal with the gunman, the Police Force has rounded up the thugs thanks to Tamaki. Tamaki asks one of them that the reason why he can't uses his Quirk is due to the bullet, but the criminal insults him and tells him to die, causing Tamaki to sulk. The policeman tells Tamaki that he can leave the rest to them. Tamaki has a bad feeling about the situation. Eijiro and Fat Gum manage to capture the gunman and turned him into the police.

After this, a policeman comes running to tell Fat Gum that the criminal's gun is an unusual one. Tamaki is ashamed that he is unable to use his Quirk and hides his face using his hood, but thanks Eijiro for protecting him. Fat Gum decides to take his trainees to the hospital. He is very worried about Tamaki and wants him to being check out, because he has never heard of drugs that can disable people's Quirks.[9]

Tamaki's Quirk returns

Tamaki's Quirk slowly returns.

Days later, Tamaki, Eijiro, and Fat Gum attend Sir Nighteye's hero meeting about the yakuza member Kai Chisaki, along with other heroes and some of the U.A. Student that also participates in the Work-Studies. When Rock Lock interrupts to ask why kids are present considering that they will hold back the discussion when things get dark, Fat Gum defends his trainees and reveals they're directly involved in the case. He announces that Tamaki was shot with a bullet that harms Quirks. Mirio asks Tamaki if he is alright, to which Tamaki explains that he has recovered and can still use his Quirk, which he demonstrates by manifesting a cow hoof.

Fat Gum follows up by explaining that Tamaki has been checked at the hospital after being shot and found out that Tamaki's Quirk Factor was damaged, but thankfully Tamaki was able to heal over time, meaning the bullets are likely still in a testing phase. Thanks to Eijiro's brave actions by protecting Tamaki, they were able to obtain a bullet with the contents still inside. Fat Gum disturbs everyone when he reveals that the Quirk Cancelling bullets contained blood and cell samples from a human. Sir Nighteye adds that Izuku and Mirio encountered Overhaul's daughter, Eri, who had bandages running up and down her legs, and explains that Overhaul's Quirk gives him the ability to disassemble and reassemble objects. Sir Nighteye concludes that Overhaul is using his own daughter to produce those Quirk destroying bullets.[10]

Izuku and Mirio explain the situation to their classmates

Downcast, Izuku and Mirio explain what occurred.

Sir Nighteye concludes the meeting by informing that an operation will be carried out to dismantle the Shie Hassaikai and rescue Eri. With the meeting over, Izuku and Mirio explain to Ochaco, Eijiro, Tsuyu, Tamaki and Nejire what occurred between them and Overhaul. Both students are still crestfallen for being unable to save Eri. Tamaki is surprised to see his friend Mirio being so gloomy. Shota Aizawa arrives and encourages his students to keep fighting, truly believing they can save the girl next time. Tamaki and Nejire convince Mirio to snap out of his misery, with Nejire telling him that there is no point in feeling regretful. Mirio agrees with them.[11]

Tamaki joins the heroes in their mission to save Eri from the Yakuza. As the Heroes head down towards the basement but are surprised to see a wall before them. Mirio uses his Quirk to phase through the wall, with Tamaki explaining that Mirio's Hero Costume is made with special fibers from his hair, allowing his clothes to phase with him. Mirio has phased through the wall and sees that the path stretches on as Nighteye said. Mirio returns and tells the Heroes that the wall was thrown in the way to block them; Rock Lock suspects that it was Kai's Quirk that put the wall there in the first place. Izuku activates One For All: Full Cowl and Eijiro Kirishima activates his Hardening. Using their enhanced might, Izuku and Eijiro shatter the wall together.

Suneater vs. Setsuno, Hojo & Tabe

Tamaki takes on Toya, Yu, and Soramitsu.

Tamaki surmises that Kai is stalling them for time to hide everything and escape and starts becoming stressed out since their lives could be at stake. Mirio encourages Tamaki by saying that they will definitely rescue Eri. Mirio decides to go on ahead and phases through. Tamaki starts blaming himself for falling under pressure.

Mimic causes the floor to open up beneath the Heroes, causing the heroes to fall down a single floor. The heroes are in a hall; three figures appear from the dust, revealing themselves to be three members of the Eight Bullets. As Fat Gum prepares for battle, Tamaki decides to battle the three Bullets himself in order to make up for falling under pressure.[12]

Suddenly, Tamaki, while manifested into a clam, appears before the group of Eight Bullets. He opens up the clamshell and grabs hold of the three villains with his octopus tentacles. He tells them that he will be their opponents before throwing them onto the ground. Tamaki manages also to grab their guns and swords and crushes them by manifesting a crab claw. Tamaki sees that the yakuzas are buying time so that the ringleaders can escape with Eri and asks the Heroes and Police Force to go on ahead. Eijiro tries to stop him, but Tamaki is resolute in stopping the three villains on his own since Heroes like Shota are needed on ahead and tells Fat Gum that he will be fine. Before leaving, Shota disables the three Eight Bullets' Quirks. Tamaki pins the three down with his octopus tentacles and asks them to help Mirio since he tends to push himself too hard.

Chimera Kraken

Tamaki facing the Eight Bullets.

Tamaki decides to put them to sleep and strikes them with his octopus tentacles. However, Tamaki injures himself after striking Toya's mask who reveals that he was hiding a knife in his mask. Shota's Erasure has ended, allowing Yu to activate his Crystallization and to grow crystals from his body which allows him to break free from Tamaki's octopus tentacles. Tamaki manifests his hand into a clam, but suddenly, it disappears because Toya used his Quirk to steal it from him. Toya remarks on their status as being the Eight Bullets; they had given up on life but their boss, Kai Chisaki, picked pieces of trash like them from the garbage heap and put them to use again. Yu is prideful in being just trash and is more than obliged to fulfill the expectations of Kai. Yu strikes Tamaki with his crystallized punch.

Tamaki manages to block Yu's crystallized punch by manifesting strong crab claw fingers and grabs hold of Yu's fist with a strong grip. Fueled by Mirio's confidence in him, Tamaki tells the three Eight Bullets to give up because he is Suneater, which is his Hero name that was inspired after Mirio told him that he would outshine the sun.[1]

Tamaki Amajiki defeats Setsuno, Hojo & Tabe (Anime)

Suneater is victorious.

However, despite Yu, Toya, and Soramitsu being those worthless people, Kai Chisaki welcomed them with open arms into the Shie Hassaikai, stating that they should not be rotting away. This is why Toya does not care about being captured or any other consequences because Kai gave them worth and vows to kill anyone who gets in his way. Tamaki sees that Yu, Toya, and Soramitsu have been brainwashed into thinking that they have worth and asks the three Eight Bullets if they are fine with being used and thrown away.

Yu ignores Tamaki's question as a Hero like him could never understand and decides to finish Tamaki off by striking him with his crystallized arm. Tamaki manifests a chicken leg and uses its talons to flick a crystal shard at Toya, which distracts Toya and causes him to recoil in pain, preventing him from using his Larceny since he can only steal objects that he sees. Yu strikes Tamaki with his crystallized arm. However, Yu is shocked that his crystallized strike has been mitigated. Suddenly, Yu's crystallized body has been clutched by Tamaki's large crystallized chicken leg. Tamaki is impressed with the trust the three Eight Bullets have in each other which has made them a good combination. As Soramitsu goes on the offensive while Toya is still recovering, Tamaki comments that while he may not understand their circumstances and anger, he does understand the hardened bonds they speak of.

Suneater captures Toya, Yu, and Soramitsu.

Tamaki extends his large crystallized chicken leg, smashes the crystallized Yu into Toya and Soramitsu, and then smashes the three into the wall, further increasing the damage. Yu, Toya, and Soramitsu have been defeated. Tamaki states that the hardened bonds they spoke of the show that they are not just using each other for their own gain and comments that friendship is a powerful thing.[13]

He removes their masks and ties up the three Bullets with one of his tentacles, which releases a small dosage of poison that paralyzes them. Tamaki begins walking away, but battered and tired as he is, he finally succumbs and falls unconscious.[14]

Tamaki subdues Chrono

Tamaki saves Shota.

After being unconscious for several minutes, Tamaki wakes up when he feels that something bad happened to Mirio immediately after the latter gets shot with one of Overhaul's Quirk-Erasing Bullets.[15]

Tamaki goes out in search of others, encountering a wounded and unconscious Mirio and several police officers who accompany him. While carrying Mirio, he saves Shota's life when he was about to be stabbed by Hari. Tamaki manifests his hand into a swordfish and pierces Hari's arm with the bill, causing him to drop the sword. The days pass until the festival finally begins and the beauty contest takes place. When is Nejire's turn, he wishes her good luck so she doesn't get nervous because of the crowd, although it is he who is really nervous for that reason. My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission[]

Japan Task Force 1

The Japan team heads to strom the Humarise branch in Tokyo.

During the Work Studies, an anti-Quirk cult known as Humarise caused the death of hundreds of people by setting off a Trigger Bomb. In response, the World Heroes Association organizes a large operation on a world scale to bring down the organization. As member of Fat Gum agency, Tamaki joins the operation, being part of the Japan Task Force, which also includes Gang Orca Agency, Cementoss, Present Mic, and many other heroes.

They have the mission of storming the branch that Humarise has in Tokyo, arrest its members and seize any Trigger Bombs that might be there. Despite their successful raid, the heroes have failed to locate the Trigger bombs and the most prominent members of Humarise. Around the world, the other hero teams also succeed in their respective raids, but with the same results. The WHA director orders all the hero teams to stand by in their respective countries.

Classmates shocked by Otheon news

Tamaki is shocked to hear that Izuku is wanted for mass murder.

While at the Japan Team Standby hotel, Tamaki is shocked when Kyoka informs all team members that Izuku has been charged with a mass murder, placing him on the Otheon most wanted list.

The situation gets worse days later when Flect Turn, leader of Humarise, broadcasts to the entire world that they intends to denote several Trigger Bombs in the twenty-five cities where the branches of his cult used to be, and that there are only two hours before they explode. As expected, panic breaks out in the target cities, being one of them Tokyo, triggering numerous accidents among the terrified population. The Japan Task Force scrambled to quell the hysteria and locate the bombs.

Tamaki uses his Quirk to rescue injured civilians.

The members of the Fat Gum agency are among the first to arrive, and Fat Gum quickly coordinates his trainees to help: while Eijiro and Tetsutetsu secure an evacuation route, Tamaki helps rescue the injured, using his Super Move Chimera Kraken to do so. As they helping and searching the Trigger Bombs, they are reported that Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto plan to storm Humarise's main headquarters to defuse the bombs.

Tamaki continues helping civilians until Gang Orca informs them that he has found the Trigger Bomb in a moving train. He and Fat Gum manage to get on the train, but are suddenly surrounded by members of Humarise who attack them. They manage to defeat all of the cultists and secure the bomb, but are then informed by the Gang Orca team that there are more Trigger Bombs, guarded by more members of Humarise, so the threat is still in place.

All the heroes confront Humarise in the streets of the city, until the countdown finally reaches zero, but fortunately none of the bombs explode, thanks to Izuku's group being able to storm Humarise's main headquarters, defeat its leaders, and defuse the bombs all over the world.

With the main threat neutralized, the heroes defeat and imprison the last members of Humarise, dismantling the organization. Once the worldwide crisis is over, Tamaki is able to return to U.A., meeting up with Mirio and Nejire.[22]

While Mirio and Tamaki hurry off to look for Shota, Nejire stays with Eri, hugging and comforting her. Shota arrives and erases Eri's Quirk, gently patting her on the head and telling her not to worry.[23]

The months go by until it's late March. Thanks to the police investigation and its spy Hawks, the Hero Public Safety Commission has found out the plans of the Paranormal Liberation Front and its allies. With this information the Commission organized a large force of Pro Heroes, divided in several teams to take down the villain organization.

Vast Hybrid Chimera - Centaur

Tamaki wipes out the PLF frontline soldiers with Vast Hybrid Centaur.

One of the teams has the mission of storming the main headquarters of the Paranormal Liberation Front and arrest all its members. Tamaki is in the front line along with Fat Gum. After the hero team led by Endeavor start to storm the Jaku General Hospital, the Villa Raid Team begins their assault on the Gunga Mountain Villa.[24][25]

The Paranormal Liberation Front is caught off guard by the surprise attack, which allows the heroes to take the initiative and defeat many of their soldiers. The heroes also sealed all the external secret entrances to a giant sanctuary beneath the mansion, leaving the interior ones only.[26][27]

Tamaki and Fat Gum ask Tsukuyomi to join them in sealing one of these entrances. Warriors of the liberation front guard the pathway with their lives but Tamaki performs his Ultimate Move: Vast Hybrid: Centaur to take them down and nonchalantly gives a nice one-liner. Impressed by the delivery, Fat Gum says he wants to hear him say it again, only for Tamaki to be too embarrassed to do so.[28]

After, Fat Gum drops the students off he rejoins Tamaki on the front lines. As Re-Destro fights Edgeshot, Fat Gum shields the latter from Re-Destro's blows.[29] Soon after, Majestic uses his Quirk to create floating platforms for the Heroes, including Tamaki. Together, they soon arrive to the students' location to try and stop Gigantomachia from escaping the area although the latter manages to get through them.[30]

U.A. Traitor Arc[]

Nejire, Tamaki, and Fat Gum save civilians (Anime)

Tamaki helps Nejire and the heroes evacuate civilians.

Tamaki was able to survive the onslaught from Gigantomachia, but the damage was already done to the Heroes and to the general public. With so much chaos running rampant in the aftermath of the war, due to All For One's escape from Tartarus, the mass of freed inmates, and the destruction left behind, classes at U.A. were suspended, and the older U.A. Hero course students are deputized as hero reserves due to the dwindling number of Heroes being present.

Tamaki was in the Kansai Region, where he, Nejire Chan, Fat Gum, and Ryukyu have just defeated a villain and rescued some civilians, planning to take them to Shiketsu High School. Ryukyu states that if the number of people keep dwindling, there will be a drop in available information for them, with Fat Gum saying that now there will be no more sneak attacks and raids at each other, with everyone gearing up for a true all-or-nothing battle of the Final War.[31]

Final War Arc[]

Episode 143

Tamaki and the Heroes exit their Warp Gates to fight the villains.

While he was busy aiding the Heroes in apprehending more Villains, he received word that the Heroes had developed a plan to lure All For One and the Villains out of hiding. Knowing Yuga Aoyama's role as a double agent for All For One, the Heroes plan him to lure All For One into a designated area where he and the Villains can be all placed in one location. That way, they'll have Neito Monoma Copy Kurogiri's Quirk: Warp Gate to teleport the remaining Heroes into the area where they can ambush the villains.

Tamaki is assigned to the team to directly face Tomura Shigaraki, accompanied by Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Mirko, Nejire, Katsuki, and Izuku. Their plan is to warp Tomura to a floating U.A. High, to keep him contained and minimize his damage potential. Days prior to the start of the War, the team met up at Troy to discuss their plan of attack.

Best Jeanist informs everyone how Tomura's bound to strike at U.A., and they must not allow him to touch the ground, as well as making sure they are all aware in what they seek to protect. Tamaki and the others presume he is talking about the civilians and collateral damage, but Jeanist clarifies he's referring to the issue of Tomura's personality, noting they would prefer to deal with the All For One persona, who seeks to dominate over living subjects, while Tomura simply wants to destroy everything. With his strength and hatred brewing inside of him, his desire for destruction may direct itself toward the Earth itself, and states that in a world where they emerge victorious, even if they stood their ground and rose back up from dire straits, it will all be for nothing without a foundation to stand on, and reiterates what it is they must protect.[32]

On the day of the operation, with Izuku as bait, All For One is successfulluy lured out and uses his Warping Quirk to summon an army of villains to their desired location. Tamaki and the Heroes proceed to enter through the Warp Gates to teleport into the area where they can fight the villains.[33]

Chapter 346

Tamaki and his team arrive on the battlefield.

As the battle begins, All Might activates the "Troy" system trap, entrapping many villains in cages, allowing the Heroes to shove as many villains as possible into more portals to separate them all. Tamaki joins his team through the portal to the now floating U.A. Fortress to face Tomura. However, Izuku ended up being sent to the wrong portal unexpectedly.[34]

Katsuki informs everyone of what happened, leading Tamaki to worry about this and wanting to warn everyone. Despite this setback, the team prepares to fight Tomura, who is held back thanks to Neito and Shota using Erasure to erase Tomura's Quirks. Unfortunately, Tomura begins to sprout an endless amount of fingers from his hand that decimate the battlefield.[35]

U.A. Team declare to fight Tomura (Anime)

The U.A. Team declare they will stop Tomura.

The Heroes are confused how he could still be using Quirks, but Tomura reveals the grotesque swarm just the "growth" from his body, as a result of the Quirk Singularity. The Heroes all figure that they can't warp Izuku to their location, as activating Warp Gate again would require Erasure to be undone momentarily, allowing Tomura to be able to use Decay through each of his endlessly growing wave of fingers, finishing them all. Despite the circumstances, the Heroes are determined to fight the new Tomura even without One For All, with Tamaki reluctantly agreeing with.[36]

The Heroes try their best to evade and prevent the fingers from swallowing them up, with Tamaki using his Quirk to desperately try and defend himself from their impact.[37] Katsuki tries to finish Tomura for good with an ultimate Cluster attack, but Tomura is able to rebuff most of the damage, breaking his arm, and swatting everyone else away.

Octopus Mirage (Anime)

Tamaki injects venom onto Tomura with Octopus Merge.

In the rubble, Tamaki and Nejire are able to recover themselves, with Tamaki looking on at a lone school desk, telling his friend that he wants to have a proper graduation when they are done, which she agrees. Just then, Mirio re-appears from the inside of the U.A. Fortress, telling Tamaki that they will get Nezu to throw them once when it's all over. Tamaki asks if they'll be able to handle things, with Mirio responding back that they'll hold everything down until Izuku returns, and until then, they'll show off their triple-threat power together.[38]

While Tomura has Katsuki in his grasp, Neire appears, unleashing a Nejire Wave: Pike attack straight toward him, but he simply puts Katsuki in front of him, forcing Nejire to alter the trajection last minute. With his back turned, Tamaki stabs Tomura in the back with his Vast Hybrid: Octopus Mirage and Scorpius Toxin combo, injecting venom into the villain's back. However, Tomura simply grows a mouth that spits the toxin out, which is followed by even more mouths growing from the finger waves.[39]

Plasma Cannon Activation

Tamaki manifests and unleashes a full blast of his Plasma Cannon at Tomura.

Mirio then enters the chaos, retrieves and rescues Katsuki, and proceeds to fight Tomura head-on, buying time to keep him busy while Tamaki prepares his big plan. Unleashing the true potential of his Manifest Quirk and his Vast Hybrid, Tamaki creates a giant Plasma Cannon out of every one of the animals and plants he has eaten, absorbing some of Nejire's Wave Motions for good measure.[2]

Knowing how if his attack fails, it's all over for them, he thinks about and remembers the words of encouragement from his friends as motivation, how he was unable to accept them before, but now must thank them all for helping make him stronger. He blasts the Plasma Cannon directly into "Tomura", who counters with his onslaught on fingers, followed by Mirio giving him a hard punch to the face.

Tomura smashes Mirko and Tamaki

Tamaki was helpless as Tomura decimates him and Mirko.

Despite the immense power of the cannon, it is still not enough, as "Tomura" mocks the Heroes for thinking that an attack like that could've killed All Might in his prime. Katsuki tries to return to the fight, able to enrage Tomura, but despite the rest of the Heroes' attempts to help and recover him, Tomura gets a direct hit into Katsuki's chest, seemingly killing him.[40]

Tamaki and the Heroes are devastated at Katsuki's supposed death[41], however, Edgeshot vows to save his life by performing Zenith to fix his heart and perform CPR. While Edgeshot moves into the body to save him, the rest of the heroes give it all they've got to protect him, which sends Tomura into a furious rage.[42]

In recoil to these further attacks, Tomura's body begins to manifest, morphing it into its ultimate defence form. With his new body reshaping as a result of the Quirk Singularity, Tomura stands with his entire body covered in fingers, swiftly decimating Mirko with one hard punch, before promptly doing the same to Tamaki and Nejire. Despite his best to defend himself, Tamaki was distraught at the overwhelming power, and is knocked unconscious.[43] Izuku has finally returned, only to see everyone badly injured after taking heavy damages from Tomura, and goes into shock, causing him to lose control of his Quirks until Mirio calms in him. With Izuku regaining his composure, he fights while Mirio tends to Tamaki.[44] Despite heavy blows to Tomura, the villain refuses to back down, just before a swarm of Twice Doubles conjured by Himiko Toga attacks the observation deck where Shota, Neito Monoma, and Manual were stationed. They attack and dogpile on Neito, undoing the Erasure on Tomura, and as the result of this, Tomura's body released all the pent-up energy he received from constant damages, destroying the U.A. Flying Fortress. With Erasure gone, Izuku decides to tackle Tomura off the fortress, where he and Tomura can battle on the ground.[45] While Izuku and Tomura battle to the death, Tamaki was taken by Mirio to safety.[46]

However, All For One, who's body was being rewound back to his prime, suddenly shows up at U.A. and destroys the fortress[47], forcing U.A to make an emergency landing in the nearby coastal city.[48] While unconscious, Katsuki has been revived thanks to Edgeshot and battle against All For One while Izuku fights against Tomura.[49] Eventually, Katsuki emerges victorious after defeating All For One who vanishes after being rewound to the point he turned into a infant before disappearing[32], and Izuku manages to defeat Tomura once and for all before the villain succumbs to his injuries and dies as his body was disintegrated into ashes.[50]

Epilogue Arc[]

One week after the end of the Final War, the restoration efforts that were stalled after the Jaku Hospital Raid have picked back up at a breakneck pace, as Heroes from around the world arrived to provide support and resources in rescue and rebuilding Japan. A few weeks later, Tamaki recovers from his injuries after the end of the war and returns to the partially rebuilt U.A.[51]

Chapter 425

Tamaki finally graduates from U.A.

Weeks later, it is now June, and the third-year students at U.A. High are finally having their graduation after the end of the Final War. Tamaki attends the U.A. High Graduation along with the rest of her classmates. Nejire and the third years receive their diplomas, including Nejire and Mirio, now a full-fledge Heroes. Tamaki asks Nejire how her injuries are, which she says she still feels, but is still on the top of the world somehow, which Tamaki says is thanks to Mirio who was watching over them after they were knocked out during the battle.

Present Mic, who is MC-ing the event, apologizes for the delayed graduation, and shouts for excitement and the third years enthusiastically join in, while the former second years watching are start to get the jist of it, and the former first years watch speechless.

After Mawata Fuwa gives the farewell address as the students' representative, Present Mic calls on the graduates' representative, Mirio. He starts off his speech with a sincere statement thanking everyone for being in attendance, befuddling them all for not starting off with a gag. Mirio continues that they lost so much and gained nothing, and that a Heroes fight is to bring a negative situation back to square one. He mentions how the general education, support, and management courses each used their experience to come together as one to fight the good fight, however they're still not back at square one yet, and the three years they spent at the school will be put toward that purpose, as today was not that goal. He concludes that a world without smiles and humor has no bright future, that they seek a positive world where people can live their lives in good cheer, and that is the finish line they're racing toward. He snaps up, using his Quirk to blast of into the air, shouting to his underclassmen just as Bibimi Kenranzaki unleashes her giant robot on the cheering crowd.[52] Later, as reconstruction efforts were underway, Class A join up with some Heroes in a city on reconstruction duty, assisting Fat Gum, Suneater, and Best Jeanist in demolishing and repairing a section of buildings.[53]

Eight years later after the Final War, Tamaki is now a full-fledged Hero and has risen to the top rankings in the Hero Billboard Chart JP. He is now offically Fatgum's Sidekick. In his spare time, he joins Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui along with his former Big 3 classmates, No. 1 Hero, Mirio and Nejire to assist with Ochaco's Quirk Counselling. She tells them about how the most important thing is communication, and that children may be dealing with problems, big or small, so to continue being friendly until they feel comfortable to open up to them.

Tamaki asks if it's exhausting, which Ochaco says it isn't, partially thanks to Keigo at the Hero Public Safety Commission helping to improve Quirk education negotiating with the Ministry of Education. He then asks if Ochaco gets any personal time, but before she answers an incredibly excited group of kids arrive to greet The Big 3. Lemillion riles them up by jumping in a tree, shaking his butt around and challenging the kids to "hit his peaches" with their Quirks. A nervous kid named Ooshima is then helped by Ochaco, using her Zero Gravity to allow him to hit Lemillion, who is congratulated by the hero and the kids.[54]
