Kinoko Komori[]
Shihai gets nervous when talking to Kinoko.
Shihai has a crush Kinoko Komori, which is first seen during the Joint Training Battle. When interacting with Kinoko, Shihai becomes nervous to the point of stammering and avoiding eye contact, celebrating internally when she praised him for his tactics.[1]
Shihai also appears to get jealous when Kinoko interacts with other boys, such as his friend, Fumikage.[2]
They later do their Work Studies at the same agency.
Eight years after the Final War, it is revealed by Toru Hagakure that they are dating, and had been going out for some time, as Mina Ashido comments, saying that there weren't any signs on the recent mission she went on with them.[3]

Fumikage Tokoyami[]
A pair of Chuunis.
Upon their first interaction, it appears that Shihai seems to have a deep understanding of Fumikage's personality and powers, which causes him to declare rivalry on Fumikage. In addition, he notes that Fumikage's tendency of using dark concepts and penchant for dramatic speech is similar to his.[4]
However, Shihai internally admits that this was just a psychological tactic to mislead Fumikage about his true intentions, which was targeting Yuga Aoyama. Despite this claim, it is later shown that the two have bonded during the aftermath of the Joint Training Arc. [5]
