Personality[]
He is described to be very dedicated to work with Endeavor and the Flaming Sidekickers. He is even friendly towards the new Work Study Interns, Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and Shoto Todoroki. Onima is also serious about his hero work, going so far as to support Shoto during the final battle against Dabi.
Synopsis[]
Vs. Hero Killer Arc[]
Onima and Kido guarding the Nomu.
After the Hosu Incident and the capture of Stain, Kido and Onima are responsible for guarding the Nomu who was defeated by Gran Torino until he is arrested by the police.[3]
Joint Training Arc[]
Onima and Kido reporting to Endeavor.
During the Joint Training Battle, Onima informs Endeavor that they are receiving a multitude of requests for Team-Ups and interviews. Endeavor simply orders him to compile a list of the team up offers, being more interested in trying to contact his son, Shoto.
Since he does not get any replies, Endeavor yells Shoto's name while engulfed in flames. Onima suggests that Shoto is probably in class at the time, while his partner, Kido, expresses concern about the mental state of Endeavor.[4]
Endeavor Agency Arc[]
The Flaming Sidekickers greet the new interns.
Onima was present during the introduction of the new Work Study interns, Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto, and greets them with open arms to the agency.
My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission[]
Onima was a part of the global hero operation by the World Heroes Association to defeat the terrorist organization called Humarise, which had detonated a Trigger Bomb, causing catastrophic damage to a city and casualties amongst the Quirk users.[5]
Paranormal Liberation War Arc[]
Onima joins the Heroes to take down the Paranormal Liberation Front.
Onima joins Endeavor in the largest hero operation to defeat the Paranormal Liberation Front. He is tasked to assist the heroes in the Jaku Hospital Raid to capture the mastermind behind the Nomu creation, Kyudai Garaki and apprehend the incomplete Tomura Shigaraki. Unfortunately, the plan went awry when the doctor unleashed the Nomu which results in the awakening of Tomura and destruction of the hospital and major portion of Jaku City. Fortunately, Onima and several other heroes survived the Decay attack and join the other Heroes in trying to defeat the remaining Near High-End Nomu which escaped with Tomura.[6]
My Hero Academia: You're Next[]
In the aftermath of the Paranormal Liberation War, Japan has entered a chaotic state of unrest, between the destruction caused by the War, the many Villains that have broken out of prisons and been wreaking havoc on the streets after All For One's escape from Tartarus, and the significant decrease in Heroes after many died or retired in the aftermath. Mirio remains at U.A., patrolling the outer perimeter for security when Gollini Family Mafia, consisting of Bruno, Kamile, Deborah, Paulo, Simon, Ugo, Gi, and their leader, Valdo Gollini, launches an attack at U.A. with their massive super Fortress of All Might thanks to Anna Scervino's Quirk: Overmodification, which amplifies Valdo's Quirk.
Principal Nezu states that the U.A. Barrier is essential for their plan to defeat Tomura Shigaraki and must be protected at all costs. Hence, he ordered the evacuation of the refugees while the Heroes head to the outskirts of the city to stage a counterattack against the fortress.
Mirio helps direct everyone toward the exit. He signals the Heroes outside of the civilians' location, so Endeavor unleashes Prominence Burn - Maximum Fire and Flare Circle to make a hole large enough for civilians to fall through, with all the Heroes waiting outside to catch and bring them to safety.
Once the civilians are safe, Endeavor makes a hole large enough for many Heroes to move inside. Kamui enters the fortress and aids Class 1-A battling against the monsters. As the fortress comes closer to U.A., it starts to collapse after Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto defeat Dark Might; in conjunction.
Suddenly, the fortress starts to repair itself as Anna’s Quirk goes berserk, causing her to consume everything in the battlefield, including Dark Might. Still affected by Anna's Overmodification, Dark Might regains consciousness and uses her enhanced properties to turn himself into a colossal monster, using the fortress to repair a new body. While Izuku, Shoto and Katsuki fight back against Dark Might, Giulio manages to touch her, and thanks to Anna's Overmodification, his own Neutralization Quirk becomes greatly enhanced, allowing him to overcome his limits and then use it on Anna. With Dark Might vulnerable, Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto, attack the Villain and unleash their most powerful moves, destroying Dark Might and the entire fortress.
With the Gollini Family defeated, the U.A. Shelter is safe, and everyone cheers on the Heroes and Class 1-A for their valiant victory.[7]
Final War Arc[]
Onima converges with the rest of the heroes.
In the aftermath of the War, the remaining Heroes develop a plan to defeat the villains and All For One. Using Yuga Aoyama as bait, they successfully lure All For One and his army of villains into the open, and are teleported onto the battlefield thanks to Neito Monoma copying Kurogiri's Warp Gate Quirk. Once the heroes and villains are in place, All Might activates the "Troy" defense system to trap the villains in cages, as the Heroes shove as many of them into each Warp Gate, splitting them up all over Japan.
Onima and the other Flaming Sidekickers protect Shoto.
Onima joins the Flaming Sidekickers and Shoto to deal with Dabi in Kamino. The heroes aid Shoto through his gruelling battle against his brother, helping protect him from the fire with their Quirks so he can build up his special technique combining his fire and ice, Phosphor. He is eventually able to utilize this ability to strike back and defeat his brother.
Onima was in charge of securing Dabi, amazed at how the villain was still alive even after getting burned by his own Quirk. Unfortunately, Onima was caught off guard when Dabi managed to copy Shoto's Phosphor, reinvigorating himself and burning Onima up.[8] Once Dabi flees from the Heroes to get to Gunga, Shoto and Tenya left to chase after Dabi while Onima is recovered by Burnin.[9]
Epilogue Arc[]
Burnin, Untenmaru, and the Flaming Sidekickers waiting for Enji.
After the end of the Final War between the Heroes and Villains, Onima managed to survive his injuries and recovers from them. He takes his boss and his family to see Toya in Central Hospital, who was contained in a life support medical pod after he mutilated his body. Once the visit was over, Onima, Untenmaru Kurumada, and the Flaming Sidekickers are seen waiting for Enji and his wife, Rei Todoroki.[10]
