I would like to become a d-m (Discussions Moderator) for a few reasons. One reason I am willing to apply is because of the job itself. Now I know this seems like a lame reason, but I just love the idea of being a d-m. Getting to guide people, helping new users, keeping the wiki on track. It all just seems very fun and challenging. Another reason I would like to apply is because I believe I would be a good candidate for this job. Now when I say this i'm not saying I'm better then everyone, because they're definitely people who are better at this position then I am, but because I truly believe it's something I would be good at. I'm constantly on the wiki, I'm always greeting new users, I'm very active on reminding people of guidelines on all wikis I'm on, and many more things I do a good d-mod needs to do. And one final reason that I would like being a d-mod is the responsibility and effort needed. Responsibility isn't something I take lightly. When given a job, I believe that you should put your heart and time into it so you can be successful. This is just a small for of the responsibility. This position would give me something to do/look forward to while doing something I love. Being a d-mod has been a dream (Sorry if that's cheesy) of mine for about a year and a half (I had a different account awhile ago I shared with my cousin) and it would be amazing to be given a chance at this job/volunteer work. In conclusion, I believe I would be a good d-mod and help the wiki grow. If i'm not picked, I 100% understand and I wish the best of luck to anyone else who volunteers/applies for the d-mod spots! :)

#[[File:Against.png|25px]] '''Against:''' I think we all know where this is going. I won’t say a lot here either because the mobile editor causes me physical agony, but my points have been hit by most of the other votes. I don’t believe someone should apply for a role simply because they want it. There must be some purpose, some superior motive other than a simple desire. While I do think their general behaviour is suitable for the role, the provided reason does not give me reason to vote for them. Project talk:Requesting of User Rights/Discussions Moderators/Archive

New Discussions Moderators January 2021

Following one of our current Discussions Moderators stepping out, My Hero Academia Wiki needs users to step up and apply for the position. We are currently looking for 1-2 new Discussions Moderators to join the existing one we have. As long as you meet the requirements for a Discussions Moderator you can apply. These include:

  • Have an account that is at least 3 months old
  • Have at least 20 Discussions Posts
  • Have a history of making genuine reports and polite guideline reminders
  • No history of bans of any kind

As for how voting will work.

  • For editors: at least 100 edits, 2 weeks account age, no prior ban history.
  • For Discussions-only users: at least 20 posts spread out over time, 2 weeks account age, no prior ban history in the last year.
    • For this particular instance of voting, each voter will have two opportunities to vote. In other words, a single vote for 2 different candidates. You cannot vote for the same candidate twice and you do not have to use both your votes, you may vote for one candidate if you so wish. Voting will commence one week from now, on 15th January 2021 (however it may be pushed back if not enough applications are received), and last one week. The candidate(s) with the highest number of votes will be the new Discussions Moderator(s). A threshold of at least 4 votes for a single candidate are needed to confirm their appointment. In the event of low voter turnout, voting will be extended for an additional week.

Please leave your application below, and good luck to all who apply!

I, Malachichi Smash, request to become a Discussions Moderator.

I may have said a few things before that are quite unkind to those who haven't read the Guidelines and break them, but I highly respect the rules and stick with rule number 1 on the Guidelines. As a user who's most likely to be active everyday, I would like to be someone who can help all the users feel a bit more welcomed and also fix posts that may be violating any rule listed on the Guidelines.

  1. For For: I’m voting for @Malachichi Smash because they are always active on the wiki, keeping people in check with the rules and stuff, and is always being nice to both me and others in the wiki. I just feel they would make a great D-Mod. They are very qualified for the position. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DorkyForLife0701 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
  2. For For: I'm voting for @Malachichi Smash because they are really nice, but firm on the rules. Like what @DorkyForLife0701 said, they are very active and check with the rules. I feel confident that they will make a great D-mod. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Krishima is my boyfriend (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
  3. For For: For my time on Discussions recently and from reviewing old post, this user seems to be a fit for this position: knowing the rules and good standing with the current users.     Hawks       FirePsychic                         19:20, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Tamaki Amajiki - Suneater (User)

I, Tamaki Amajiki - Suneater, request to become a Discussions Moderator.

I would like to be a moderator since I'm sure enough I could handle just the wiki. I say I'm mediocre at handling situations with posts that break the guidelines and say I'm good at enforcing them. I know I wouldn't just be a moderator who immediately locks the post and would try to resolve the issue. I'd also try my best not to lash out on anyone as soon as possible.

  1. For For: They've helped solve many problems when it came to problematic users. I have been here for a while, and Tama has been here for a long time, as well. I can tell they're passionate about My Hero Academia, while also helping make sure the Wikia is very much stable. They're also very calm, and it's rare for them to lash out, which is what a D-mod should have, patience. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chikadancee (talkcontribs) . 1. For For: Tamaki has proven themselves to be a very staunch follower of the guidelines. While their earlier posts don’t make for quite the cleanest track record, I trust that, with the ability to lock threads without participating in them, their behaviour will change. I might come back to update this soon, right now I’m on mobile and the editor is an incredible pain to use.

  1. For For: Tamaki is a user who I know can handle situations that are quite problematic calmly. It's rare for her to just lash out on people. I trust that TamaAma knows what to do and what to say when it comes to anyone violating any rule listed on the Guidelines.

  1. For For: They have helped a lot of problems, and follows the guidelines. I trust this user, to help the wiki. I might come back to edit, or update this.

  1. Against Against: I do not like the idea of someone being a mod simply because they "want the role"; I believe they should want the role because they actually want to - and will if the need arises - help other users. TheNinjaOnTheTop (talk) 00:08, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
  2. Against Against:I don't really like how they want to be a moderator because they want the role. I mean how can I trust that I'm in the right hands, how do I know that they'll do their job. ElizaTodoroki (talk) 14:06, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
  3. Against Against:If this person wants to be promoted to moderator just for the sake of being one and having a higher role, then I don’t think they deserve it. While everyone wants to have a position of importance, it’s not right to have a moderator that wanted the status for no real reason other than just being one. I don’t think they would get the real work done.

Lets do a little story time. I came into this Fandom just to post a shipping thing. But, I was expectedly told not to and I changed it. I want to be those people who told me. I want to help make this Fandom less.... chaotic? If I can make at least a tiny bit of the Fandom not toxic, then my job would be worth while. Yes I admit, I was a bit toxic before and I made some mistakes. But I want to reinforce the rules on those types of people. I am usually online and try to be there a lot. It has always been a dream and if I don't get chosen, I understand completely and I hope the new mods do amazing! <3

I would like to become a discussions moderator because I believe I can make this place less toxic for newer users. As a user who's active nearly everyday, I know I will be able to help out other users and diffuse growing problems. I take responsibility very seriously, and if I'm able to become a Discussions Moderator, I will use this to help enforce the rules and guidelines, and make this fandom a better place for all. :)

  1. For For: Has a clean record and a history of making respectful and welcoming replies. If activity was stepped up once the position was given, I believe this user would be the best fit to be a new Discussions Moderator. 『  Zen。』talk  23:32, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

I think I would be a good moderator for the threads here because I follow the rules whenever I post here. I have reported many posts in the past that have broken rules but I'm not active enough for anyone to notice my abilities of pressing buttons to help the community. I'm a Minecraft Staff member for the partnered Discord server and I'm very active on there as well. :) Solodice (talk) 15:23, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
