Momo Yaoyorozu & Yosetsu Awase vs. Nomu it’s the battle between Class 1-A's Momo Yaoyorozu and Class 1-B's Yosetsu Awase against Vanguard Action Squad's Nomu.
Prologue[]
Tomura Shigaraki decides to send the Vanguard Action Squad to the Pussycats' Quirk Training Camp to capture Katsuki Bakugo. To help them in their mission, he gives Dabi a Nomu that will do everything he orders to it. Shortly after every villain arrives, the students are holding a "test of courage mini-game", where the students from Class 1-B tried to scare their peers from 1-A.
Momo was paired up with Yuga for the test when the Squad begins their kidnapping operation. Using his Quirk, Mustard releases a toxic gas that knocks out everyone who breathes it.[1] Momo quickly uses her Creation Quirk to create several gas masks to protect themselves with, and they rush through the forest, handing them out to all the students. First they encounter the Class 1-B students Yosetsu Awase, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Ibara Shiozaki, the latter unconscious because of the gas.
Determined to help everyone, Momo gives several gas mask to Tetsutetsu, who marches to help every student on the way, taking Ibara with him. Meanwhile, Yosetsu accompanies Momo and Yuga to guide them to other students.[2] They encounter Kyoka Jiro and Toru Hagakure unconscious. Momo puts masks on them and asks Yuga to watch over their classmates, while she and Yosetsu keep looking for more students.
On their way they are ambushed by the Nomu, whom Dabi gave him the orders to crush any student or staff member it comes across. The creature had already attacked the member of the Pussycats Ragdoll, and it is now carrying her bloody and broken communication device in one of its hand.[3]
Battle[]
- The details from the beginning of this battle are unknown.
After a brief scuffle, the Nomu wounds Momo, leaving her with a serious head injury. Yosetsu quickly uses his Weld Quirk to fuse the semi-unconscious Momo to his arms, making it easier for him to carry her and flee from the Vanguard Action Squad's Nomu. Making several arms emerge from his back and transforming them into different tools such as chainsaws, hammers and drills, the creature chases both students throughout the forest, knocking down trees during the persecution.
Alarmed by this, Yosetsu desperately tries to get Momo back to full consciousness while running. The injured Momo apologizes to Yosetsu for dragging him down, while internally she wonders what happened to her, because the Nomu attacked them by surprise.
The Nomu manages to reach Yosetsu and is about to attack them with a chainsaw. Giving himself up for dead, Yosetsu tries to protect Momo with his own body. But before the Nomu eviscerated them both, the monsters suddenly stops the attack, retracts its weapon arms into its body and begins to walk away through the forest. A stunned Yosetsu wonders why the Nomu decided to leave without killing them.[3]
Aftermath[]
It turns out that a few seconds before, Dabi had been informed by Mr. Compress that he had captured Katsuki, so he ordered the Nomu to stop whatever he was doing and return to him.
Momo correctly surmises that the villains have likely achieved their goal. Thinking of a plan, she creates a tracking device and asks Yosetsu to bond it onto the Nomu’s body. Approaching cautiously, Yosetsu uses his Weld Quirk to stick the tracker onto the monster's back. The Nomu doesn't notice this and continues to walk away with Momo's device stuck on it. Yousetsu and Momo decide to continue running.[3]
By the time Yosetsu and Momo reached the main building, most of the Vanguard Action Squad members had already fled, taking Katsuki with them. Medical teams arrive and Momo is taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries. After recovering, she tells to All Might and detective Naomasa about the tracking device and gives them a receiver to track the signal. The Number 1 Hero congratulates and praises Momo for it.[4]
