Leviathan (レヴィアタン Reviatan?) is a villain working for Flect Turn in My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission.

Appearance[]

When under the effects of Trigger, Leviathan is a muscular hulking man with bleach white skin, black markings on his face and forearms, and a single row of brown spikes running down his spine. He has a relatively small head, with beady orange-yellow eyes and a wide set of teeth. On Leviathan's fingers and toes are spiraling red appendages. There is also a set of "tubes" with the same appearance stemming from his back and connecting to his head. He wears torn black plants with a brown belt.

Leviathan has only been shown briefly while not on Trigger. He is still very muscular, though not to the extent of his enhanced form. He had fair skin and the spirals on his head were smaller. His appendages were also white instead of red.

Personality[]

Like most Humarise members, Leviathan is devoted to carrying out Flect Turn's plan, although not much is known about his personal beliefs or personality as he is often using Trigger, which sends his mind into a violent rampage.

Synopsis[]

My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission[]

Shoto vs Leviathan

Leviathan takes on one of Class 1-A's strongest, Shoto Todoroki.

The anti-Quirk terrorist organization known as Humarise commits a terrorist bombing that caused the deaths of thousands of people by setting off a Trigger Bomb in a city. In response to this terrorist attack, the World Heroes Association organizes an international operation to raid all the branches that Humarise has in the world in an effort to defeat the terrorist group. Although the raids were successful across the world, each task forces were unable to locate the bombs or apprehend the leader Flect Turn.

Days later, Humarise hijacks all telecommunication and announces globally that they have placed the Trigger Bombs in twenty-five cities around the world, and that they will explode in less than two hours. To further attract the greatest number of heroes to the prepared trap, they indicate in which cities are found. Their ultimatum causes widespread panic throughout the 25 countries, so the WHA gives the Heroes the greenlight to scramble in defense to quell the mass hysteria and locate the Trigger Bomb.

One by one, the Heroes in each sector engage in an all-out war against the Humarise sleeper agents guarding the bombs, delaying their effort to stop the detonation. Just when Flect Turn was confident of his assured victory, their scouts reported a charter plane piloted by Rody Soul heading toward their location, carrying the Endeavor Agency interns from the Otheon Task Force: Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, and Katsuki Bakugo.

Realizing that the young heroes are coming to foil his plot, Flect Turn orders Leviathan and the Serpenters to go out there and deal with these intruders. After the young heroes launched a direct assault on the main Humarise headquarters, Katsuki stays behind to deal with the Serpenter Twins, while Izuku and Shoto breach further inside to disable the Trigger Bombs. As more reinforcements from Humarise deal with the Heroes, Shoto stays behind to cover Izuku while he fends off against any incoming reinforcements. Once he's dealt with the Quirkless members, Leviathan suddenly barges right in and starts engaging Shoto in an intense combat.

Leviathan uses Helical Scythe

Leviathan uses his Helical Scythe to attack Shoto.

Leviathan charges right at him, but Shoto attacks him with his flame to stop him, but the undeterred behemoth runs through the fiery attack and tries to crush him with one of his huge hands. Shoto manages to avoid the blow and tries to take shelter in another room, blocking the door with ice, realizing that the fire does not seem to affect this new threat.

Using his Helical Scythe Quirk, Leviathan destroys the block of ice to chase after Shoto, who realizes that his foe is induced with Trigger, that not only makes him and his Quirk more powerful, but also makes him unaware of the pain. Leviathan attacks his prey using the semi-liquid appendages on his hands, forcing Shoto to use his ice powers in an attempt to avoid being hit by one of the red tendrils. One of them shatters the block of ice he is on, leaving him defenseless against Leviathan. He grabs and stomps Shoto against the ground, falling both to the lower levels where there is an underground river.

Shoto manages to freeze Leviathan's appendages

Shoto freezes Leviathan's appendages with his ice.

Leviathan falls into the water while Shoto manages to grab onto the edge, but as he's about to climb, Leviathan uses his Quirk to generate a watery column that caught Shoto and makes him fall into the river. Once there, he holds Shoto underwater until he drowns. Every time Shoto manages to undo the tendrils by freezing them, Leviathan quickly generates new ones, preventing him from escaping.

Shoto is about to lose consciousness due to lack of air, but fortunately, he notices that the underground river leads them to a waterfall outside, giving him the chance to escape Leviathan's grasp. Shoto freezes the tendrils again but this time, he doesn't undo them, but they hold on long enough until the two begin to fall down the waterfall, at which point, he breaks free using his fire.

Jet Kindling used against Leviathan

Shoto defeats Leviathan with Jet Kindling.

With no water to use, Leviathan attacks him with all of his red appendages, but Shoto fuses his ice at maximum power to freeze the tendrils, Leviathan himself, and the entire waterfall. Despite being trapped in the ice, the giant manages to free his head using its appendages, and tries to attack Shoto with them. After dodging the tendrils, Shoto uses his fire to generate a powerful Flashfreeze Heatwave, which causes a huge explosion.

Humarise members are arrested

Leviathan and the top-ranking Humarise members are arrested.

Despite this, the villain not only manages to withstand the attack but also uses his Helical Scythe Quirk to control the flames of the explosion, creating a gigantic version of himself that "swallows" Shoto, trying to burn him under the extreme heat of fire. Enduring the temperatures as best he can, Shoto concentrates all the power of his flames at their highest possible point, and blasts Leviathan with his Flashfire Fist: Jet Kindling, burning the villain up from the inside. After Leviathan was defeated, he and Shoto fell into the waterfall and down the river before losing unconscious.

Izuku and the other trainees were successful in defusing all of the Trigger Bombs and defeating Flect Turn and the higher-ranking members of Humarise in the process. With the terrorist plot foiled, all the surviving Humarise members are arrested and the Trigger Bombs are safely removed.[2]

Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: Leviathan was recognized as an incredibly powerful force, further exemplified by his moniker, the "Rampage Villain". He possessed a great handle on his powerful Quirk, Helical Scythe, which he used to overwhelm his opponents while under the effects of Trigger. He was capable of overwhelming and almost defeating Shoto, one of U.A. High School's most powerful students with his overwhelming physical might and immunity to the latter's abilities.

  • Immense Strength: Befitting his incredibly muscular build and size, Leviathan possessed colossal levels of physical strength, showcased in his battle against Shoto. He could destroy a massive amount of ice with his tendrils and shatter solid concrete. He could instantly shatter a large portion of the Humarise Hideout's floor and carry large chunks of ice with ease.
  • Immense Durability: Leviathan possessed incredible levels of durability and endurance. He could easily bathe in Shoto's fire and withstand several of his high-powered blasts, as well as endure several tons of rubble and ice falling on him along with a large drop into a sewer canal.

Quirk[]

Helical Scythe (ヘリカルサイズ Herikarusaizu?): Leviathan's Quirk allows him to lengthen and control the red appendages on his fingers and head. He can use these tendrils as a whip for a ranged attacks and they are powerful enough to pierce through things like a drill. They have a wide range of attack, although this Quirk's true power is unknown as it is only seen under the effects of Trigger.

Aside from attacking with the red appendages directly, he can also use the tendrils to manipulate the elements around him, such as controlling the flow of water to ensnare opponents and drown them, or controlling fire to create a giant construct of himself to swallow his opponents alive.

Equipment[]

Trigger (トリガー Torigā?): Leviathan uses Trigger to increase the power of his Quirk before he encounters his opponent and rushes them with his overwhelming power.

Trivia[]

  • Leviathan's black and white color scheme, coupled with his muscular frame, "tubes" snaking on his body, and having a constant reliance on a performance-enhancing drug, makes him resemble the DC villain Bane. His white skin color and wide smile also make him resemble The Joker. Coincidentally, Joker once got powered up by Venom (the drug that is used by Bane) in the videogame Batman: Arkham Asylum, significantly boosting his muscle mass in a way that resembles the former two characters.
  • Leviathan shares his Japanese and English voice actors with other characters.
    • His Japanese voice actor, Shōgo Sakata, also voices Majestic.
    • His English voice actor, Marcus D. Stimac, also voices Tiger.
  • Leviathan is referred to as the Rampage Villain (暴走ヴィラン Bōsō viran?).[1]
