Kyotoku and Mika Jiro[]

Kyoka talks to her parents

Kyotoku and Mika support their daughter's dreams.

Kyoka has an excellent relationship with her parents. It was they who taught her music and thanks to them, Kyoka has found her way around a couple of instruments.

When she was young, Kyoka felt pressured into wanting to be a hero since her parents desire for her to become a musician, feeling guilty when she finally revealed this to them, but Kyotoku and Mika actually were surprisingly very understanding and received this welcomingly, supporting Kyoka's dream that even continues to this day after the incident where Kyoka was affected by Mustard's knockout gas during the Vanguard Action Squad Invasion event.[1]

Class 1-A[]

Denki Kaminari[]

Denki praises Kyoka

Denki praises Kyoka because of her musical skills.

They seem to be good friends and are often seen together. The two heroes-in-training are paired together during the Battle Trial, and the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, showing to working well together. Kyoka is very helpful to Denki at the U.S.J., helping him to have more self-confidence about using his Quirk. As Denki thinks that he can't use his Quirk with Kyoka and Momo around, he is not able to use it well, but when forced to by Kyoka, he finally realized that he too can fight and be helpful.[2]

Kyoka happens to enjoy Denki's brainless state, finding it uncontrollably funny. Despite that, Denki does refer to Kyoka as a friend and she seems to view him in the same light as she hesitated to let a villain kill him. When Denki finds out about her insecurities around her music hobby, he compliments her, encouraging her to embrace her hobbies publicly, Kyoka gets flustered by his praise but is eventually convinced to pursue her hobby.[3]

She was surprised to see him at I-Island. Denki told her that him and Minoru applied to work as waiters since it meant a free trip to the island. When Kyoka showed up in a fancy dress, Denki and Minoru proceeded to comment on her appearance. This ended up causing her to plug her Earphone Jacks onto them. As Denki protests and claims that he was "complimenting" her, Kyoka responds by telling Denki that he wasn't complimenting her at all. When Wolfram and his gang was invading the Island, Denki said that they should just sit and wait until the villains are done. Kyoka got up and ask if Denki was okay with that. Denki responded of what choice they had. Kyoka later asked if they should at least try to stop them. The two were seen next to each other hiding when the other members of Wolfram's gang went searching for them. When the group go to the 130th Floor, they saw I-Island Security Bots, they later realized that they are trying to capture them. After Momo made an Insulator Sheet with her Quirk. Denki used an Indiscriminate Shock 1.3 Million Volts on the Security Drones, but it had no effect. Denki later went to 2 Million Volts, realizing what he was about to do. Kyoka told him not to as he would short-circuit faster, which he did. Later when the 138th floor when faced with the Security Drones and Tenya let Denki down from his back, Kyoka was seen holding him. When the Security system was reset, the two along with Tenya and Momo were freed. When Wolfram used the Quirk Amplification Device, she and the others regrouped with the others. She and Ochaco were seen holding Denki while he was still in his mindless state. She was later seen holding him as the fight with Izuku and All Might with Wolfram, she cheered them on as she was still holding him.[4]

When Nine and his group were invading Nabu Island hunting for Katsuma Shimano's Cell Activation Quirk. The two helped with reinforcements and helping with their classmates with the fight with Hoyo Makihara, after the fight Kyoka asked if they were fine. After Nine retreated, Kyoka holding emergency supplies looked as Denki and Momo were over using their Quirks to supply the people what they needed. Denki started to short-circuit as his brain was starting to fry. When Class 1-A were reflecting on the villains they fought, Kyoka told the class that Denki and Momo used up too much of their power already.[5]

When Denki begins to panic and fear for his life during the raid on the Gunga Mountain Villa, Midnight tells him to think of the person who matters most to him, and Denki's focus centers on Kyoka, who encourages him and tells him to stay strong. At this point Kyoka seems to be one of Denki's closest friends, and it's likely that Kyoka knows Denki thought about her following Midnight's advice because, as her earphone jacks were plugged into the ground, she spoke up right when Denki looked back at her.[6]

Momo Yaoyorozu[]

Momo and Kyoka encourage All Might

Momo and Kyoka encourage All Might.

Momo and Kyoka appear to be close friends with each other. It is implied that they both get along quite well. Along with Denki, the two battle against the League of Villains at the U.S.J., proving that they work well together. After that, they are often seen interacting with each other.

Kyoka later asks Momo to tutor her for the end of term test, which she accepted.[7]

When the class splits up to go shopping for the training camp, they pair up and go off shopping together. As well as this, Kyoka is proven to be somewhat defensive of her. During the summer training camp, she punches Hanta for comparing Momo's Quirk ability to convert fat at an atomic level into many different objects, to defecation.[8]

She later joins Kyoka's band, playing the keyboard, during the school School Festival and they pull off a wonderful performance with the teamwork of all of Class 1-A.

Before Wolfram and his gang invaded I-Island. Ochaco, Momo, and Kyoka came late before meeting everyone. When Momo and Kyoka meet up with their group, Kyoka was seen hiding behind Momo, as she was feeling shy. When Wolfram invaded the Island, at the on 138th floor the server room when facing against the I-Island Security Bots Momo created a cannon for Kyoka to use against the bots while Momo created soft ammo for Kyoka to use. When Momo overused her Quirk, the two where tied together by the security bots. During the fight with Wolfram they both cheered for Izuku and All Might when they were about to defeat Wolfram.[4]

When Nine invaded Nabu Island on the search for Katsuma's Cell Activation Quirk. The two were paired up to together as reinforcements and to aid their inquired classmates. After Nine and his gang retreated, both Momo and Denki were helping with emergency supplies. Kyoka watched as both her and Denki were overusing their Quirks.[5]

Mina Ashido[]

They are on good terms as they are often seen talking as seen in Vs. Hero Killer Arc talking about their internships. Both tease Ochaco on her affections for Izuku. They're also seen sitting or standing next to each other during entertaining times. Mina is also often seen chatting with Kyoka in the background with some other classmates too.

Jirou comforts Mina when it was discovered that Yuga Aoyama was the traitor.

Eijiro Kirishima[]

Even though both haven't directly interacted on a one on one conversation, both are seen talking with each other in the background with other classmates such as Eijiro and Hanta, and sometimes Mina, showing a friendly outcome. Eijiro also asked Kyoka to sing when others were also asking and was soon entertained by her voice, showing complete support to his peer.

Koji Koda[]

Koji overcomes his fears

Koji and Kyoka work together to pass their final exam.

Kyoka is partnered with Koji during the Final Exams Arc against Present Mic. Although Koji is very shy and terrified of insects, Kyoka's words and example of bravery convince him to use his Quirk to talk to bugs of the forest, while she is annoyed that he picked that late of a moment to talk and help. Nevertheless, Koji later carries an injured Kyoka through the forest to cross the escape gate, and together they pass the exam.[9]

During the festival, Koji encourages Kyoka to play giving her more confidence. Overall, the two appear to be on good terms.

Toru Hagakure[]

They appear to good friends as they are often seen talking. During the U.A. Sports Festival, she is put off by Toru's desire to act as a cheerleader after they're tricked by Denki and Minoru Mineta. She is also partnered up with Toru in the 'Test of Courage' during the Quirk Training Camp.

Toru is also thankful for Kyoka halting Minoru's attempted peeping in the locker room. The two along with Mina tried to find out from Ochaco on who was her crush on the night after their training for their Ultimate Moves.

Hanta Sero[]

These two are shown to be good friends as they have been showing signs of interactions in the background in multiple occasions. Kyoka also punched Hanta after disgusting Momo because of her Quirk. Another scene they shared was when Kyoka complimented Hanta for his unexpected dorm room design.

The two were also on the same team, alongside Katsuki and Rikido, cooperating well with one another, with Hanta assisting her in taking out their opponents. Hanta also gifted her a scarf with unique Asian like designs for Kyoka during the surprise exchange gift moment on Christmas Eve. Overall, they seem to get along well and are on good terms.

Fumikage Tokoyami[]

Though the two haven't interacted on a one on one conversation, the two are usually seen chatting with their classmates. Both also cooperated well during the School Festival, whereas he was one of the members who played the guitar for the band. Kyoka was also seen lending him her notes for him to use as guidance.

Kyoka was also shown to be concerned for him during the Paranormal Liberation War when both Fumikage and Denki went ahead in the front lines.

Izuku Midoriya[]

Izuku talking to Kyoka

Izuku admiring Kyoka's efforts.

Despite not having too much interaction with each other, they mutually respect each other and care for one another.

During the Vs. Hero Killer Arc, Kyoka initially wonders how Izuku will do in the Rescue Training Race and is amazed by Izuku overcoming the drawbacks of his Quirk. Kyoka also finds Izuku's notebook very interesting and impressive, where Izuku notes his classmates' abilities.

Sometimes, she gets curious of Izuku every now and then, as she notices him with Melissa Shield, claiming that she had used her Quirk and heard everything, much to his shock.

During the School Festival Arc, a flashback of Kyoka and Izuku is shown in which Kyoka asks Izuku for help on taking and revising her notes for the band. They share a friendly moment with each other in which he is impressed with her initial note taking and proceeds to help her leading up to the School Festival. They seem to be on friendly terms from this point on with Izuku using her memory as one of many to push on in his fight with Gentle Criminal in order to prevent him from cancelling the event and to make it back in time to help in her performance. During his struggles with Blackwhip, Kyoka is shown to be visibly worried for him.[10]

After the resulting battle with Tomura Shigaraki she shows up outside of his hospital room asking Ochaco if he's woken up yet.[11]

During the battle between Class 1-A and Izuku, Kyoka tells Izuku she is very happy that he not only helped her with how to organize notes during the Culture Festival, but also sharing a hobby of note-taking. She also commented on how Izuku got stronger.[12]

Kyoka was willing to support Izuku, and cares for him enough that when thinking of All For One making Izuku suffer because he has One For All makes her angry, and would dare to attack anyone who would harm her friends.[13]

Minoru Mineta[]

Kyoka embarassed

Kyoka feeling let down after not being mentioned.

Like all the girls in 1-A, Kyoka despises Minoru's perverted and lecherous attitude towards them, and is seen either chastising or punishing him with her Quirk on a few occasions. During the U.A. Sports Festival Arc, she wakes up a napping Minoru with her Earphone Jack Quirk and also chews him out after he yells at Yuga Aoyoma to beat Mina Ashido's gym kit off. Later on, Kyoka becomes frustrated and angry at both Minoru and Denki after the two boys had tricked the girls in Class 1-A to dress in revealing cheerleader outfits.

In the girls locker room, shortly after a training session had concluded, Kyoka used her Quirk and overheard Minoru's attempt to peek at the girls through a secret peephole in the locker rooms. Kyoka prevented this by stabbing Minoru right in his eye with one of her Earphone cables. Minoru's words appeared to have hit a sore point for Kyoka however, as she wondered why she wasn't mentioned along with the other girls while Minoru was fawning over them.

Despite her skepticism and disliking of Minoru, she still seems to accept him as a fellow classmate. In My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, she didn't seem to have any problem with him and Denki receiving special invite tickets to the I-Island Expo, courtesy of Melissa Shield, and even seemed happy about it. Although she did stab him and Denki with her cables after the two commented on her dress after turning up to the event. Whilst Minoru and Denki were both enamored by Melissa's dress upon the girl's arrival, she only sheepishly grinned at the two.

Mashirao Ojiro[]

They are often seen interacting and talking with each other in the background alongside some other classmates at times such as Toru Hagakure or most of the time, Fumikage Tokoyami. They have also shown splendid teamwork during their ambush against Nine in My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising. Kyoka was also seen shouting out Mashirao's name in concern when he was taken out by Nine. They seem to be good friends as well.

Katsuki Bakugo[]

Katsuki saves Kyoka from Togaru

Katsuki saves Kyoka from Togaru Kamakiri.

Katsuki and Kyoka's interactions at the start of the series have been minimal. They were first seen sitting next to each other on the bus when Kyoka looks annoyed and freaked out by Katsuki's loud angry outbursts at Denki.

Starting from the School Festival Arc is when these two begin to develop a tolerance for one another and a fledgling friendship. Kyoka asks Katsuki to help her in the Festival by playing guitar, he berates her and tells her he has no time for that. They are then seen working together and preparing for their performance with the other members of the band.

They are later paired up on the same team during the Class 1-A vs Class 1-B trials. Kyoka and Katsuki come to understand each other and put trust into one another. Katsuki, who always works solo, puts trust into his teammates and relies on Kyoka to scout out and listen for their opponents. Katsuki later comes to her aid when she was cornered by the opposing team in the Joint Training Battle.[14] She is grateful for this and they along with the rest of their team went on to overpower their foes, achieving a complete victory.

Ochaco Uraraka[]

Initially, Kyoka and Ochaco have very little interaction with each other; as the story progresses, the two build up a friendship, and are on good terms. The two are seen hanging out occasionally outside of class, usually with the other girls of Class 1-A, talking about various things. The night after training for their Ultimate Moves, both Mina, Toru and Kyoka tried to find out who Ochaco's crush, and Kyoka said that they wouldn't give up until they found out who Ochaco's love interest is. Before the U.A. School Festival Ochaco compliments Kyoka for her musical skills, recalling occasions where the latter would practice while Ochaco and Toru would watch.

When Ochaco, Momo, and Kyoka explain why they were invited to I-Island, Kyoka casually rests her arm on Ochaco's shoulder, telling Melissa that they were selected by Momo as two guests.[4]

Rikido Sato[]

The two have not interacted much, but they were teamed up with each other during the Calvary Battle at the Sports Festival, and fought on the same team during the Joint Training. When the students were moved into the Heights Alliance, during the competition with the dorm rooms, at Rikido's room all girls except Tsuyu were enjoying the cake that Rikido baked.

Yuga Aoyama[]

While they aren't seen interacting often, Kyoka and Yuga appear to get on as fellow classmates. Although during the best room competition, when Yuga commented that her room was unladylike, she punished him alongside Denki by jabbing them both with her earphone cables.[15]

Like the rest of her classmates, Kyoka was deeply shocked and distressed to learn that Yuga was an unwilling mole for All For One who was responsible for the U.S.J. Incident and the Vanguard Action Squad Invasion. After learning the whole story however, Kyoka gains the desire to forgive Yuga and help him redeem himself by taking down All For One together.[16][17]

While fighting All For One, Kyoka expresses her outrage that he was the one responsible for making her friends Izuku and Yuga cry, showing that she still considers Yuga as one of her friends despite everything that happened.[13]

League of Villains[]

All For One[]

All For One came across Kyoka during the battle over the Gunga Villa ruins when Endeavor and Hawks had tried to take him on away from the other heroes in a more concentrated attack strategy. Following his successful provocation of Endeavor's anger leading to him taking a chunk out of his side, Kyoka swooped in on Fumikage's back to push Hawks out of harm's way. All For One described the two students as merely "jobber characters", but Kyoka defiantly told him to save it until after he had actually managed to beat them.

All For One continued to mock Kyoka, calling her a deluded extra as he focused on attacking her as a weak spot with full intent to kill her. Kyoka bravely stood her ground, but was nevertheless terrified at All For One's sheer malice as he volleyed several deadly attacks that just barely missed her, with one managing to tear her ear off. Despite the pain, Kyoka retorted that she had to face All For One for putting her friends Izuku and Yuga through so much distress before firing off her new ultimate move, Heartbeat Surround Legato.

All For One took the attack head on and dismissed it as weak as he prepared to counterattack, gleeful at the thought of getting to kill another child. His arrogance was stopped short by the Quirk vestiges inside the weaker copy of his Quirk rebelling against him in response to Legato. Inspired by Kyoka's bravery, they held All For One back long enough for Hawks to finally shatter his mask, subsequently leading to Endeavor finally burning him to a crisp.

Kyoka's efforts had proven instrumental in pushing All For One to the brink and making him trigger his last fail-safe by using a copy of Rewind to regenerate to full strength. While restored to his prime, he had also signed his death warrant and acknowledged that Rewind would eventually vanish him out of existence.
