Jaku Ruins Team vs. Paranormal Liberation Front is a battle taken place during the Final War between a group of Heroes defending Gigantomachia's Detainment Facility, and members of the Paranormal Liberation Front that seek to free him.
Prologue[]
After Gigantomachia's defeat during the Paranormal Liberation War, he was scheduled to be shipped alongside several of the high-profile villains to Tartarus. However, due to All For One's breakout from the prison, a large containment facility was built around his still unconscious body in the ruins of Jaku City.
By the time the Heroes were preparing for the Final War against the Villains, in particular their plan to divide-and-conquer by warping the Villains all over Japan, they also were aware that the remnants of the Paranormal Liberation Front would attempt to take advantage of the dwindled number of Heroes and free Gigantomachia from his containment. Because of this, a team of Heroes and U.A. students, led by Mt. Lady, were assigned to protect the facilities from the Villains, being stationed there in advance once the fighting began.
Accompanying the team is Hitoshi Shinso, whose improved Brainwashing Quirk had played an instrumental part in the beginning of the War in deceiving All For One, with him as backup to brainwash Gigantomachia in case he manages to escape.
Battle[]
- The details from the beginning of this battle are unknown.
Sometime after the fighting had commenced, the Heroes across all the battlefields were informed by the Counter-Force of Dabi's defeat by Shoto during their battle. Pinky is happy to hear about her classmate's success, as she uses Acid Shot to melt off the concrete armor of some villains. Grape Juice is cheering for Shoto's victory, as Mudman says he expected nothing less from someone who got into U.A. through recommendations. This explains him too though, as he begins to skink several other villains into the ground with his Softening quirk while Mt. Lady enthusiastically gigantifies declaring he had her worried for nothing. Meanwhile, Hitoshi had been warped from the Counter-Force HQ to the battlefield, and is escorted away to safety by Red Riot, to hide until they need him.
The PLF members are confused how they were ready for their sneak attack, when a masked PLF adviser of the Guerilla Warfare Regiment states it was all a ruse on their part, pretending to be more scattered than they seemed, and having already foreseen they would try to rescue Gigantomachia so had the Heroes stationed to be on the defensive. However despite this, he pulls out a device saying they've squandered their resources. The Sludge Villain goes after Emily, but Madman is able to push her out of the way, as the PLF adviser says the era of liberation is at hand, so the purveyors of falsehoods will be crushed beneath their boots, just like a certain U.A. teacher.
Pinky had been fighting a villain using a hammer, blocking the impact of said hammer with acid from her feet, as she turns around from her fighting upon hearing this, realizing he was the one who killed Midnight. Just before the villain she was fighting can attack while she's distracted, Red Riot returns from his escort mission and punches the hammer wielder in the face, backing Pinky up by declaring after Shoto showing everyone how much of a man he is, they have to stay strong and hold their defensive line.[1]
The Heroes manage to take out most of the attacking forces, with Grape Juice tying several together with his Pop Off balls, and Mudman sinking several into the ground with his Softening Quirk. However, the PLF adviser, and the remaining villains, use their Quirks to float in the air, out of the Heroes reach. The PLF adviser then activates the device, an Ultrahigh-Frequency Emitter, courtesy of Feel Good Inc., which begins to release an incredibly loud array of sound waves of All For One's voice.
The PLF adviser states that even despite the Heroes' defensive attempts, and the restraints currently keeping Gigantomachia in place, he knows that thanks to Machia's Dog Quirk giving him super hearing, he will be awakened and react to his master's voice. Mt. Lady attempts to swat at them to stop them, but to no avail, so she calls out to Rule, who uses her Size Quirk to enlarge a giant wrench, which Emily sends up to her using her Poltergeist Quirk.
Mt. Lady is about to smack the floating Villains with the wrench, but it is too late as Gigantomachia busts out of his containment center, ramming right into her as the structure comes crashing down, with Pinky watching on in fear. While the Heroes escape the collapsing facility, Red Riot runs toward Hitoshi's hiding spot in the corner of the battlefield, telling him it's time to use their backup plan for him to brainwash Machia.
However, Red Riot is horrified to discover that Hitoshi has already been discovered by someone, the Sludge Villain, who has started to consume his body using his Quirk. The Sludge Villain sadistically remarks why he should risk his neck in some stupid battle, so decided to pretend to fight a little at the beginning and then sneak away. He then happily mentions that Machia waking up means they win, and that Hitoshi makes for a better hiding spot than that middle-school kid.
The PLF adviser continues to float above the battlefield, preaching about how the weak are meant to suffer and submit, the authority of the strong is self-justified, and that today marks the advent of the liberation era. Red Riot attempts to pound away at the Sludge Villain, ripping at its Sludge to free Hitoshi, but is unable to do so. At the same time, Machia brutally pummels Mt. Lady toward the ground, asking where is master is.
He is about to slice at Mt. Lady with his Mole claws, when Pinky unleashes her "Output Max Power" of her Quirk, Acidman: Alma, shooting a large chunk of Acid directly at the beast, strong enough that it begins to melt his body. Mt. Lady looks on is surprise at the effectiveness of the Acid, turning to Pinky and thinking about her to be careful, knowing it will take a lot out of her.
Pinky continues to build up the power of her Acid in her right arm, thinking about how she couldn't stand how ineffective she was in the last battle, and how many people died because of it, but thanks to Katsuki and Shoto's special training, she has found the best way to use her power to protect those she cares about. With her horns now greatly enlarged, she sticks her arm into the Sludge Villain, pumping his body full of Acid. He starts to freak out as it begins to mix with his sludge, leaving Hitoshi's body and attempting to flee.
Hitoshi calls out for him to wait, which he takes the bait on, responding that he's sticking with the winners, causing him to be brainwashed, and completely frozen in place. Hitoshi thanks Red Riot and Pinky for their help, while the latter openly declares that just like Mezo, she doesn't want to think about avenging Midnight, saying she knows she's all about fear because she's weak, and that weakness makes her want to form packs and be close with people, turning to the PLF adviser and recognizing that it is the same for their side too.
The PLF adviser is reminded of the words of Re-Destro, but simply responds that their cries will fall flat because there's no stopping Machia. The beast is about to attack the still grounded Mt. Lady with his other claw, when he suddenly hears All For One's voice calling out to him, causing him to respond and become brainwashed; Hitoshi had studied All For One's voice using his recordings from Tartarus, and mimicked them using his Persona Chords.
Hitoshi swings around Machia with his Capturing Weapon, and commands him to attack those in the air. The brainwashed beast proceeds to go on a rampage, slicing and attacking all the floating Villains. Mt. Lady catches Hitoshi in her arm, as he explained his plan and now that he's under their control, they don't have to worry about the frequency. Elsewhere, Pinky starts to pass out due to overexerting herself, with Red Riot helping her and apologizing for being a letdown. Pinky comments on how she has now paid her back, but Red Riot simply responds she never owed him a thing since she's always been his hero.
The battle concludes with all the villains being successfully defeated, as the heroes prepare to round up the escaped convicts and PLF members for transport.[2]
Aftermath[]
Shortly afterward, Mt. Lady receives word from Naomasa Tsukauchi that the battle at the Gunga Mountain Ruins had started to take a turn for the worse, in particular due to All For One rewinding his body back to his prime state and attempting to escape the battlefield. They request assistance in keeping him contained so Mt. Lady and the still brainwashed Gigantomachia, with Hitoshi and several Heroes riding on his back, make their way to Gunga to provide backup.[2]
