Summary[]
Infiltration Preparation[]
Inside Izuku's room at the hospital, Eijiro has proposed to save Katsuki themselves with the help of Momo's device instead of letting the Pro Heroes rescue Katsuki. However, Tenya is vehemently against the idea. Most of Class 1-A also feel the same way as Tenya and try to dissuade Eijiro and Shoto from rescuing Katsuki. Yuga suggests that they leave Katsuki's rescue to the Pro Heroes since they have been prevented from partaking in combat.
Fumikage agrees with Yuga and doesn't say anything else regarding the matter since he is in no position to state his thoughts after being saved many times. Tsuyu understands that everyone is distressed and asks Shoto and Eijiro to be level-headed because if they go along with their plan thinking with their feelings, then their actions are no different than villains. Everyone remains silent. A doctor enters and asks Class 1-A to leave so that he can speak to Izuku privately.
As Class 1-A leave the room, Eijiro tells Izuku that they talked with Momo yesterday and have decided that they will rescue Katsuki tonight; he doesn't ask for Izuku's help because of his serious injuries but if he wants to help since he understands that Izuku is frustrated the most, then they will wait for him outside the hospital before leaving.
After Eijiro leaves, the doctor tells Izuku that thanks to Recovery Girl's efforts, he will be able to move his arms. The doctor explains that although his muscles and bones were healed, due to the hysterical strength Izuku used to defeat Muscular his ligaments have started to deteriorate; the doctor warns Izuku that if he continues getting the same injuries to his arm ligaments over and over, he will one day never be able to use his arms again. The doctor hands Izuku a letter from Kota. The letter thanks Izuku for saving him and hopes that Izuku gets well soon so that he can thank him in person. The doctor tells Izuku that he will be discharged that day.
Later that night, Shoto along Eijiro wait for Izuku and Momo. Izuku and Momo arrive but before Momo can speak, Tenya appears. Tenya is angry that they are about to repeat the same mistake he made at Hosu. Despite Izuku knowing that breaking the rules is against the law, Tenya punches Izuku in the face. Tenya is angry and frustrated that they are not taking his concerns, feelings, and worry into consideration; Tenya says that he doesn't want to see Izuku or any of them land up with severe injuries.
Shoto tells Tenya that they will not engage the villains in combat while Eijiro states that their rescue will be covert. Momo states that she came along to accompany them all in order to prevent them from engaging in combat. Izuku tells Tenya that after failing to save Katsuki at the training camp, his gut feeling is telling him that he must save Katsuki. Tenya sees that they are determined and resolute and is cheered up by the fact that they won't engage in combat; Tenya decides to go with them.
At the Police Station, All Might, Endeavor, Best Jeanist and Edgeshot start a strategy meeting with Naomasa regarding Katsuki's rescue operation. Meanwhile, inside the League of Villains' hideout, Katsuki is strapped and restrained on a chair being surrounded by members of the Vanguard Action Squad, Kurogiri, and Tomura. Tomura asks Katsuki to become his ally, but Katsuki vehemently tells him to drop the small talk and go die.[1]
Inside the hospital, Izuku phones his mother and informs her about his wounds, telling her that he has been discharged, but that he will return home tomorrow. Concerned, Inko asks her son if he really has to go back to U.A. Izuku ends the call. Later, he returns to Eijiro, Shoto, Tenya, and Momo. Tenya apologizes for punching him and Momo asks him why had a sudden change of heart. Tenya explains that he's only there to prevent physical combat from breaking out. Momo agrees that she will share this role and is compromising because she understands the boy's feelings, and gives them a device to follow the Nomu signal. Momo ponders their impractical plan and believes they will pull out after seeing how difficult rescuing Katsuki will be.
The group of Class 1-A students follow Momo's device and board a train to the location the device is detecting. On the train, Izuku asks Shoto and Eijiro if they told the rest of the class about the plan; Shoto and Eijiro reply that they did although the class still tried to stop them from going through with the plan. Shoto tells the group that they can still turn back if they want to. However, Eijiro is resolute in rescuing Katsuki, Izuku thinks back to the phone call between him and his mother before leaving to rescue Katsuki. Izuku tells his mother that he is All Might's successor and as the successor, he cannot sit back and relax. Back in the present, Izuku states that it is too late for him to turn back.
After two hours of traveling, the group departs from the train and follows the device which brings them to a place called Kamino, a ward in Yokohama City in the Kanagawa Prefecture. Eijiro tries to go straight after the villains. Momo stops him and states that they're near the League of Villains' location and they can recognize them as they appear. To compensate, she is going to buy disguises to change their appearances.
Izuku, Shoto, Eijiro, Momo, and Tenya put on disguises they acquired to make infiltration easier as well as to prevent the League of Villains from recognizing them. Shoto points out that instead of buying disguises, Momo could have easily just made some up with her powers. A flustered Momo stammers that it wouldn't have been good for the local economy. Eijiro thinks it's just because she wanted to experience a Donki Store.
Afterward, they notice a broadcast of the public apology issued by U.A. The video clip shows Principal Nezu, Shota Aizawa and Vlad King apologizing for failing to protect the students from the villain attack at the training camp as well as their shortcomings. One of the journalists questions what measures U.A. is taking to address the matter. Nezu replies that they are taking strong measures to guarantee the safety of their students by strengthening U.A.'s security and re-examining U.A.'s crime prevention system.
However, the people watching are not satisfied with their apology or measures to protect the students and are still displeased with them due to U.A. not trying to actually protect their students. Izuku sees that U.A. is being treated like criminals and notices the mood change.
League of Villains' Recruit Attempt: Katsuki's Decision[]
At the same time inside the League of Villains' hideout, Tomura along with the Vanguard Action Squad and Katsuki have also been watching the broadcast of U.A.'s public apology. Tomura understands why society is criticizing U.A. for its failure and that is because the current hero society is not just. Spinner agrees that the current Hero society isn't just since the modern Heroes are only doing their job for compensation and not out of selflessness. Tomura explains that the League of Villains are fighting for a just society and intends to win this battle.
Tomura orders Dabi to remove Katsuki's restraints, although Dabi is unsure since Katsuki might attack. Tomura wants to treat Katsuki as an equal and is aware that Katsuki knows he has no possibility of winning. Dabi has Twice remove the restraints. As Twice removes the restraints, Mr. Compress apologizes to Katsuki for forcibly kidnapping him and explains that the League of Villains is not just a group of hoodlums perpetuating crimes nor did they casually abduct him. He goes on by saying that everyone in the League of Villains is shackled by the current society and hopes that Katsuki understands their discrimination.
Katsuki's restraints are removed. As Tomura approaches Katsuki, Katsuki attacks Tomura with his Explosions. Katsuki tells the League of Villains that it is pointless to try and make him change his mind as he has already been won over by the way All Might looks when he wins. Katsuki says that from the beginning he has dreamed of becoming a hero and surpassing All Might and nothing they say will change that. The smoke from Katsuki's Explosions clears and Tomura sees that the hand on his face has been blown off as a result of Katsuki's attack.[2]
At U.A.'s public apology broadcast, Shota tells the reporters that he decided to let the students fight due to not knowing the full situation in order to prevent the worst possible situation from happening and as a result, no students were killed (which is the worst possible outcome in his opinion. Principal Nezu states that the situation would have been much worse if Tetsutetsu and Itsuka did not defeat the gas-masked villain. Nezu also says that they are seeing to the well-being of their students and have not seen any signs of emotional trauma.
The reporter asks the principal if U.A. had already failed in securing the students' well-being due to not checking Katsuki's mental instability and his "villain-like" performance during the U.A. Sports Festival. Vlad King silently worries that the reporter is purposely provoking Shota with this particular question, knowing his contempt for the media. Fortunately, Shota remains calm and apologizes for not taming Katsuki's violent behavior and explains that Katsuki's behavior is a result of his tenacious pursuit to be the best hero, and believes the villains' to be foolish if they think that they can turn him into a villain. Nezu backs up Shota by saying that they are working with the Police Force to investigate Katsuki's whereabouts and promises to retrieve him.
At the League of Villains hideout, Katsuki watches U.A.'s public apology after he was released from his restraints and tells his captors that U.A. are correct about him desiring to be a Hero. Katsuki surmises that he's too important for the villains to kill him and he needs to take some of them down before escaping. He taunts the League of Villains, telling them that his combat authorizations have not been revoked. Mr. Compress asks if that is his attitude, why not pretend that they'd won over him. Katsuki replies that he has no intention of staying in that place any longer.
Upon realizing that Tomura's dissected hand had fallen from his face, Kurogiri fears that he will be carried away by anger and tries to calm him down before he can act violently, but surprisingly Tomura keeps calm and orders everyone not to do anything to Katsuki. After picking up his hand and putting it on his face, Tomura understands that Katsuki will not be convinced to join them with mere words alone and realizes Katsuki's importance. Tomura also knows that time is of the essence and decides to ask his teacher for some assistance. All For One, who has been watching Tomura on his computer, commends his apprentice for his wise decision.
At Kamino, Momo leads her classmates to what they believe to be the hideout of the League of Villains. However, Momo notes that the villains have not made any moves and reminds them that the possibility of Katsuki not being in the hideout. Tenya reminds them none of them have effective stealth skills, so he will stop the operation at the first hint of danger. Izuku thanks Tenya and starts to mutter about their options.
Meanwhile, the Police Force along with Naomasa Tsukauchi and the large Pro Hero team consisting of All Might, Endeavor, Gran Torino, Best Jeanist and more are preparing the operation to take down the League of Villains. Endeavor asks why he needs to be involved in the hideout raid. Irritated, Best Jeanist tells him that he's a U.A. Alumni and to stop complaining. Detective Tsukauchi explains that they can't use teachers from the school because of the media coverage.
Best Jeanist mulls over his failure to try and help change Katsuki's personality during his tenure at the Genius Office. Tiger adds that this is a chance for him to save Ragdoll. All Might and Gran Torino converse between themselves and conclude that All For One is making a move.
Detective Tsukauchi explains that the police believe the villains have two separate hideouts, and states that they know the hideout Katsuki is in. Therefore, the team will be split into two teams to raid both hideouts and arrest all the criminals at once. Naomasa reveals that U.A.'s public apology broadcast was to deceive the villains into thinking that the heroes were having a hard time and could not afford to attack today. Thus the Pro Heroes and the Police Force have the element of surprise on their side for their counterattack since the League of Villains will likely not see an attack coming on the very same day.
The Pro Heroes and the Police Force head out and stand in front of the League of Villains' hideout, All Might prepares to attack.[3]
Counter Attack of the Pro Heroes![]
Izuku and company remain outside the second evil lair. Eijiro sees that the hideout is similar to a warehouse while Izuku sees that the front gate is overgrown with weeds and assumes that the League of Villains was trying to disguise their hideout by making it look dilapidated. Two drunken people approach the group, causing Tenya and Izuku to act cool in order to drive them away. Seeing that there are shady characters on the street now, Shoto suggests that they distance themselves by going to the back of the hideout.
The group head towards the back and reach a window. Izuku tells the group that they should scout and not do anything drastic. However, it is dark inside the hideout. Before Momo suggests creating night-vision equipment, Eijiro takes out a pair of night-vision goggles that he bought online for the occasion. Izuku and Eijiro stand on Shoto and Tenya respectively to see inside the window of the hideout. Eijiro looks inside and he is so shocked by what he sees that he almost falls over. The others ask what is going on as Eijiro quickly hands Izuku the goggles. Izuku sees through the window with the night-vision goggles and sees three tanks with Nomus in them; Izuku realizes that the location that they have arrived at is not the League of Villains' hideout but a warehouse where they manufacture and store Nomus.
Back at the main League of Villains' hideout, Katsuki taunts Tomura upon learning that he has a master and he is not the true leader. Tomura orders Kurogiri and Mr. Compress to knock out Katsuki. The young man wants to go all out but fears Kurogiri will get in the way. As Katsuki mulls over a way to escape, they're interrupted when someone knocks on the door, saying he is Kamino's pizza delivery guy, which confuses everyone.
Suddenly, All Might smashes into the hideout through the opposite wall, which shocks the League of Villains. Tomura attempts to order Kurogiri to create portals, but Kamui Woods swings in and uses his Lacquered Chain Prison to restrain all the villains at once, which prevents Kurogiri from creating an escape route. Dabi prepares to use his flames to burn away Kamui Woods' restraints, but Gran Torino swoops in and knocks him out with a swift kick to the head, stopping Dabi from using his Quirk.
All Might, Kamui Woods, and Gran Torino have restrained the League of Villains'. Mr. Compress realizes that U.A.'s press conference was just a diversion so that the League of Villains' would lower their guard. Edgeshot, who played the role of a pizza guy, uses his Foldabody Quirk to slip through the door and unlocks it, allowing some members of the Police Force to move into the room. Edgeshot also comments that the Police Force and other Pro Heroes have surrounded the parameter outside. Endeavor angrily asks why All Might led the raid while he remains outside with the police. Naomasa informs Endeavor that he can stop any villain that tries to escape since he has a wider field of view All Might; Endeavor agrees with Naomasa's analysis.
All Might sees Katsuki and apologizes to him for having been involved in that situation. Katsuki refuses to admit he was afraid. Tomura tells the heroes that they are also not a few in number and orders Kurogiri to warp all the Nomus. However, Kurogiri isn't able to bring in the Nomus with his Quirk since they are not there, which surprises Tomura. All Might reveals the other Hideout Raid team had already captured the Nomu factory.
A few minutes earlier, while Izuku and his classmates were still thinking about what to do, they see the police and various heroes surround the place. Mt. Lady enlarges using her Gigantification Quirk and she slips her feet into the back of a pickup truck. She uses the truck to smash the side of the warehouse completely. Mt. Lady along with Best Jeanist and Gang Orca storm the Nomu factory and quickly subdue all the Nomu using their Quirks, while Tiger rescues Ragdoll.
At the League of Villains' hideout, All Might declares that it is game over for Tomura and the League of Villains.[4] Tomura refutes All Might's claim who says that it is the beginning of the League of Villains and they will extinguish the society All Might has created. Tomura orders Kurogiri to create portals so that they can escape, but Edgeshot quickly uses his Foldabody quirk to pierce Kurogiri's body and knock him out from the inside.
Gran Torino reminds the villains to stand down and then reveals each of their identities except for Dabi's. The Police worked diligently to ascertain the identities of each of the villains. Then he asks Tomura the location of All For One. Tomura becomes silent and begins reminiscing his past, he suffered in a terrible incident and no hero came to save him. However, his teacher was the one who saved him. The flashback of his childhood enrages Tomura, causing Tomura to scream out his hatred for All Might.
Suddenly, mysterious black liquid appears out of thin air with Nomus appearing out of the phenomenon which surprises the League of Villains and the Pro Heroes.
Power of the Dark Side!: The Evil Incarnate Makes His Move![]
The heroes are shocked by the sudden appearance of the Nomus and Gran Torino asks Edgeshot if he had not rendered Kurogiri unconscious. Edgeshot assures him that the black liquid is not Kurogiri's doing. More Nomus begin appearing from the masses of the mysterious black liquid. All Might orders Kamui Woods not to let the villains go. Then, the black liquid spills from Katsuki's mouth and begins to dissolve him. All Might tries to help him, but Katsuki is warping away before All Might can stop it, much to his frustration.
Kamui Woods asks Endeavor for backup and notices the Nomu are attacking the heroes and the Police Force outside as well. The Police shoot while Endeavor uses his fire to keep the Nomu at bay. Naomasa tries to radio Best Jeanist about the Nomu factory, but he doesn't receive a response. Tomura realizes that what is transpiring is the work of his teacher.
Two minutes earlier at the warehouse, Best Jeanist team have apprehended the Nomus and secured the warehouse. Mt. Lady complains that the mission was too easy and asks Best Jeanist if they should've accompanied All Might. Best Jeanist reminds her of the importance of their mission and then tells the Police to get the iron maidens ready. Tiger attempts to speak to Ragdoll, but she does not respond as she is unresponsive.
Outside the warehouse, Izuku and his group decides that they should head home. As the students start leaving, someone appears in the darkness before the Pro Heroes. The shadowy figure apologizes to Tiger and explains that Ragdoll is in a comatose state because he stole her Quirk, Search, which is a Quirk he found to be quite useful. Best Jeanist takes action and uses his Fiber Master to restrain the mysterious person. Mt. Lady questions Best Jeanist's hasty action but he claims he can't give the villains any chances to attack.
Before the Pro Heroes can act, the shadowy figure breaks through Best Jeanist's restrictions and unleashes a blast wave at the Hideout Raid Team, destroying the warehouse and causing extensive damage to the surroundings as a result. The mysterious individual is livid with the Pro Heroes for interfering with his apprentice, Tomura who has started thinking for himself as well as leading others by himself and hopes they no longer bother him.
Izuku and the others are stricken with fear by the terrifying aura that the villain emanates, to the point that they can't help imagining their own deaths. Izuku can't stop thinking like in a matter of seconds, the villain has easily defeated the heroes. Then remember the conversation he had with All Might about the origin of One For All, when he warned him that one day he would have to face the evildoer responsible for its creation.
Izuku starts to realize who the man above them is none other than All For One himself.[5]
The Tables Turn: All For One's Intervention[]
At the League of Villains' hideout, as the heroes fight the Nomus, Tomura and his allies are entrapped in the mysterious black liquid. All Might and Gran Torino attempt to stop them but the members of the League of Villains are teleported away from the hideout. Kamui Woods mulls over his failure in restraining the League of Villains but Edgeshot assures him that it is not his fault since this new Warping Quirk has the ability to target specific people, so there was nothing to counter it.
Multiple Nomu climb on All Might's body to restrain him. However, All Might gets rid of them by spinning around using Oklahoma Smash, sending them flying through the building. Outside the hideout, Naomasa along with Endeavor and the Police Force continue battling the dozens of Nomus and have the upper hand. Endeavor confirms All Might he's got the situation under control and tells him to go after the League of Villains.
At the destroyed warehouse, Best Jeanist along with Mt. Lady, Tiger, and Gang Orca have survived the blast but are heavily injured. All For One claps his hands and praises Best Jeanist for using his Quirk to pull his fellow Pro Heroes out of the way in order to reduce the blast's impact on them. Best Jeanist recognizes the masked man as the suspected ringleader of the League of Villains.
Despite his heavy injuries, he attempts to fight back and begins sending fiber strings. All For One swiftly counterattacks and blasts Jeanist with an Air Cannon. Blood gushes from Best Jeanist's torso and the ground beneath him is crushed from the impact. The villain recognizes that the strength of his Fiber Master Quirk comes from practice and experience but says he doesn't need to steal it as it wouldn't match well with Tomura.
Behind a ruined wall, Izuku along with Shoto, Eijiro, Tenya, and Momo are paralyzed by fear due to All For One's overwhelming presence and are unable to move. Suddenly, Katsuki materializes from the black liquid in front of All For One, which catches the attention of Izuku's group.
All For One apologizes to Katsuki as Tomura and his allies materialize from the black liquid as well. All For One sees that his apprentice, Tomura, has failed again. However, All For One is neither angry nor disappointed with Tomura and encourages Tomura to try again since he still has the Vanguard Action Squad and Katsuki whom he deemed important. All For One implores Tomura to continue trying as many times as he likes since everything is for his sake.
Izuku figures out that the enemy has not realized their location and decides to do something to rescue Katsuki. Izuku plans to use Full Cowl, jump towards Katsuki, and run away but he quickly dismisses the plan after seeing that escape is impossible. Izuku attempts to move since the opportunity to save Katsuki is in his grasp, unlike last time. However, Tenya stops Izuku from moving.
Suddenly, All Might appears above All For One and attacks him, but All For One, who detected his arrival, blocks All Might's attack. All Might declares that he will take everything back while All For One wonders if All Might will attempt to kill him again.[6]
Clash Between the Forces of Light and Darkness![]
All Might and All For One clash, which creates a shockwave that sends Katsuki, Tomura and the Vanguard Action Squad backward. Both All For One and All Might criticize each other for becoming weaker. Katsuki notices All For One blocked All Might's attack with raw strength, which makes him realizes he must be the true leader of the League of Villains.
All Might tells his ultimate rival that he will save Katsuki and won't repeat the same mistake as he did five years ago and this time he will definitely put All For One behind bars along with the League of Villains. All Might rushes him, but All For One sends a huge blast wave at All Might, causing the Symbol of Peace to be sent flying away with great force. All For One's blast wave attack not only hits All Might but destroys several buildings in the process. All For One comments to himself how the combination of Air Cannon and Springlike Limbs it's a good Quirk blend, although he wants to add in a few more power-up-type Quirks
Katsuki becomes concerned, but All For One tells him not to fret since his blast wave attack isn't strong enough to kill him. All For One orders Tomura to escape along with Katsuki. Black tendrils emerge from his fingers and dig into Kurogiri's unconscious body. Magne protests for what he is doing and asks him why he does not use the black liquid to get them out of there. All For One assures him that his warping Quirk won't help Tomura and the League of Villains escape.
All For One uses Forced Quirk Activation to activate Kurogiri's Warp Gate and orders the League of Villains to escape into Kurogiri's portal. Suddenly, All Might reappears onto the battlefield, refusing to allow his arch nemesis to escape and charges at him. Before heading into battle, All For One tells Tomura that he can still grow stronger.
All For One uses Air Walk to levitate and clash with All Might in the air, producing another powerful shockwave. Mr. Compress uses his Quirk on the unconscious Dabi and tells Tomura that they should escape while they can. The League of Villains prepares to take Katsuki while Katsuki prepares for battle. Meanwhile, Izuku, Shoto, Eijiro, Tenya, and Momo are still behind the wall and have overheard everything that has transpired.
Himiko, Twice and Mr. Compress engage Katsuki, but Katsuki fends them off with his Explosions. All Might attempts to help Katsuki, but All For One stops him with his black tendrils and sends him away from Katsuki. Izuku knows that they are in a crisis and there aren't any openings to rescue Katsuki due to All For One's presence and Katsuki being outnumbered by the Vanguard Action Squad.
He mulls over the fact that heroes in training can't fight the villains until he realizes there's another way to rescue Katsuki. Izuku says that the plan won't involve fighting and that it will enable them to rescue Katsuki and escape. However, the entire plan rests on Eijiro because Katsuki will respond to him due to the friendship they have built up during their time at U.A.
Tenya understands that the plan is a gamble but considering the situation, there won't be much risk due to All Might's presence.
Katsuki Rescued!: The Willpower of the Heroes[]
Izuku puts his plan into action: Izuku and Tenya hold onto Eijiro with Izuku using Full Cowl and Tenya using his Recipro Burst to burst through the wall while Eijiro uses his Hardening to protect himself, Izuku and Tenya. After Izuku, Tenya, and Eijiro burst through the wall, Shoto uses his Quirk to create an ice ramp. Izuku, Tenya, and Eijiro jump off the ice ramp and head into the sky above the battle between the League of Villains, Katsuki, All For One, and All Might.
All For One notices the trio and attempts to attack them, but as Izuku expected, All Might intervenes by punching his arch-nemesis. After clearing the battlefield at a great distance from the ground, Eijiro calls out his friend to take his hand. Izuku knows that Katsuki is too stubborn to listen to anyone besides Eijiro. Tomura tries to take Katsuki, but Katsuki uses a giant explosion to propel himself through the air towards Izuku, Tenya, and Eijiro. Katsuki grabs Eijiro's hand and smiles.[7]
Seeing that they have succeeded, Shoto and Momo begin escaping from the area. Tomura, the Vanguard Action Squad, and All Might are surprised that Izuku, Eijiro, and Tenya were in the area as well. Refusing to allow Katsuki to escape, Magne along with Spinner and Mr. Compress devise a plan to recapture Katsuki. Magne magnetizes Mr. Compress and Spinner pushes him, launching Mr. Compress at Izuku's group. Suddenly, Mt. Lady uses Titan Cliff and intercepts Mr. Compress, which causes them to smash into each other, preventing Mr. Compress from getting to the students. Izuku along with Katsuki are surprised at Mt. Lady's intervention. Mt. Lady tells the students to escape before falling down and becoming unconscious.
Magne and Spinner prepare to launch Twice into the air, but Gran Torino arrives and knocks them all out. Annoyed, Gran Torino points out Izuku's actions and compares him to Toshinori, while All Might himself is still surprised that Izuku and some of his fellow students came to rescue Katsuki. However, All Might is pleased with their intervention as he can now fight All For One without holding back. Izuku along with Eijiro, Tenya, and Katsuki begin escaping from the battlefield. Gran Torino prepares to attack Tomura and Himiko.
Now that the tables have turned, All For One sees that they no longer can secure victory due to Katsuki's rescue and that most of the Vanguard Action Squad is unconscious. All For One decides to save Tomura and his allies. He forcefully activates Kenji's Magnetism and magnetizes all the male villains. Before Tomura can attack Gran Torino, he along with the Vanguard Action Squad is magnetically pulled into Himiko, pushing them all through the warp gate at once.
Tomura tries to resist as he is being sucked into the Warp Gate. He calls out to his teacher concerned for his safety. Before Tomura teleports away, All For One tells Tomura to continue the fight. Tomura and the unconscious Kurogiri are teleported away by the Warp Gate, causing the portal to disperse.
All Might vs. All For One[]
All Might charges at All For One, but All For One uses his Warping Quirk to teleport Gran Torino in front of him, using the elderly hero as a human shield which causes Gran Torino to take All Might's attack instead. As All Might apologizes to Gran Torino, All For One sends the force of the punch back at All Might by using Impact Recoil.
Tomura's master claims he only appeared to save his protégé but states that he will remain in order to fight his arch-nemesis. All For One expresses his hatred for All Might as he is the one who brought down his comrades in the past and while he descended into darkness, All Might rose to the top as the Symbol of Peace. All For One prepares to fire his blast wave move, intending of blowing away Gran Torino and All Might at the same time. However, All Might pulls Gran Torino away and uses Detroit Smash to cancel out All For One's blast wave move but takes damage in the process.
All For One knows All Might is still holding back because citizens nearby have been caught up in the chaos. Angry, All Might stops the villain's taunting and says he cannot forgive the way the villain uses people and discards them like trash. All Might rushes All For One and grabs his left arm while throwing Gran Torino away for safety. All For One doesn't have time to warp and All Might punches the villain's head into the ground, crushing his mask. The No. 1 hero begins to reach his time limit and slowly reverts back toward his weak form. He's surprised that All For One is still conscious, and the villain says that All Might would not be the first to criticize him as he has heard those same lines before, from the previous One For All successor: Nana Shimura.[8]
After escaping from the battlefield, Shoto and Momo have escaped safely. Shoto contacts Izuku and finds out that he and his group are at the train station. Izuku replies to Shoto that he is glad he and Momo are safe and concludes that the rescue was a success. Eijiro and Katsuki converse, with Katsuki adamantly refuting the idea that he was rescued and points out that he only escaped with his peers so he could get out of All Might's way. Eijiro is happy that Katsuki is safe. Izuku, on the other hand, ponders if they were correct to leave the fight to All Might alone. Although they want to hand Katsuki over to the police for protection, the four students stop to watch the fight on a big screen.
At the battlefield, All Might whose face has partially reverted to its true form is angry at All For One for belittling Nana Shimura. All For One provokes All Might by mocking Nana for her uselessness and mentions that she died in an embarrassing, shameful way. Furious, All Might prepares to attack All For One, but the villain uses his Air Cannon to blast All Might, causing the Symbol of Peace to be blasted into the air.
All Might nearly crashes into a media helicopter but Gran Torino swoops in to rescue him and lands him to safety on the ground. Gran Torino advises All Might to not listen to All For One's provocations and that due to All For One's different Quirk usage and strategies. He should only attack when All For One lets his guard down.
Up in the sky, news helicopters are broadcasting the battle, people all over the country including U.A. staff (Shota, Nezu, Sekijiro) and U.A. students such as Ochaco, Fumikage, Minoru, and Yuga are watching the battle between All Might and All For One. Everyone looks worried and dismayed seeing All Might in trouble, and many of the viewers are wondering what the heroes are doing.
All For One says that he feels conflicted about landing the finishing blow to hero society after his protégé worked so hard to ruin it. He goes on to say that he despises All Might because he ruined everything the villain has built up since the beginning of his reign and wants him to die in the most gruesome way possible.
All For One charges up to fire off another air cannon. Gran Torino predicts his attack and tells All Might to dodge and counterattack. Gran Torino moves away but All For One asks All Might if he can afford to. All Might understands the words of All For One when he notices an innocent civilian trapped under rubble behind him. The villain aims for the civilian and fires, forcing All Might to throws himself in the way of the massive air cannon to block All For One's blast wave attack. All Might saves the civilian from being harmed but in doing so he expends his remaining power and he reverts completely back to his weak form.
All For One relishes the fact that now everyone around the country can see the symbol of peace reduced to a husk of his usual form. Some of the viewers begin to have breakdowns, and even Izuku begins to despair when he realizes that All Might's secret is being revealed. All For One mocks All Might for the pitiful state he is in. However, All Might doesn't care about his rotting body nor his exposure to the world; he remains steadfast and says being the Symbol of Peace isn't something All For One can take away.
Still determined to crush All Might's spirit, All For One reveals that Tomura Shigaraki is Nana Shimura's grandson, which demoralizes All Might. All Might refuses to believe, but All For One tells the Symbol of Peace that it is the truth. All For One wonders why he isn't smiling and sarcastically remarks about All Might's smile, which is something Nana would always do. His mocks makes All Might thinks back to when Nana taught him that the strongest people are always smiling, but he begins to break down after thinking about if Nana could see Tomura's evil.
All Might's spirit is greatly demoralized by All For One's sarcasm while All For One continues relishing in All Might's pitiful state. The innocent civilian he saved earlier encourages him to win. Everyone watching the battle begins to worry about All Might's chances of victory. Desperate, citizens cheer for All Might.
Around the country, the people who are watching refuse to believe that All Might will lose even though he isn't at his best and do not care about his true form since he has attained victory one way or another. Many citizens who are watching rally behind All Might and encourage him to win. Even Izuku and Katsuki encourages All Might to keep fighting and win.
Hearing the innocent civilian and the citizens cheering him invigorates All Might, who regains his confidence and focuses One For All into his right arm, transforming it into its Hero form. All Might smiles at All For One and states that Heroes have many things to protect which is why they don't lose.[9]
End of a Generation: The Final Battle Between All Might and All For One[]
While activating One For All throughout the right side of his body, the words of Nana Shimura echo in his mind, that he must remember his origin and by doing so he can go beyond his limits. Remembering when he met Nana when he was still a teenager, Toshinori told what would be his master about his desire to become a pillar of hope that people could latch on to. Hearing this, Nana responded by telling him that he was an interesting guy
It is thanks to this memory that All Might manages to activate One For All throughout the right side of his body. Gran Torino is surprised that All Might can still move. However, he worries that enduring so many of All For One's powerful attacks has taken too much of a toll on his body and his Quirk.
All For One deduces that All Might will unleash his final attack, commenting that wounded Heroes are the most terrifying of all. The villain's comment causes him to remanence their last battle where All Might delivered the final blow to him and admits that the look on All Might's face during that last attack has still haunted him to this very day. All For One levitates above All Might and prepares to fire his blast wave attack.
Suddenly, flames strike at the mighty villain, but All For One uses his blast wave attack to swat away the flames with ease. The person who attacked All For One is Endeavor, accompanied by Edgeshot. Endeavor is flabbergasted with All Might's appearance. All For One is impressed that the dozens of Nomus he sent were dispatched with haste, even though they were mid-level, and congratulates the number 2 for his achievement.
Endeavor is infuriated at All Might's abysmal appearance and begins remembering that he devoted most of his life to surpass him, but eventually realized that the gap between them was far too great and, in his desperation to surpass All Might, he married Rei to father a child who could achieve that goal. Endeavor yells at All Might, demanding that the Number One Hero show why he's the best.
Annoyed with Endeavor, All For One prepares to blast him, but Edgeshot uses his Quirk and great speed to attack, though All For One dodges. As Edgeshot and Endeavor attack All For One, Kamui Woods arrives and rescues the injured Mt. Lady, Best Jeanist, and Gang Orca. He commends Mt. Lady for her efforts. Tiger recovers and rescues the trapped civilian using his Quirk. Tiger tells All Might that they are helping lighten his burden and asks him to defeat All For One because everyone is wishing for his victory and no matter what he looks like, he is still everyone's Number One Hero.
Tiger's encouragement causes Gran Torino remember the past where he chatted with his old friend, Nana Shimura, who explained to him that Toshinori believed the crime did not fall because the people did not have any pillar or Symbol of justice and peace to put their faith in. He thinks to himself, knowing that All Might has become that pillar. Everyone watching this scene still believes that All Might can win and they continue to pray for his victory.
Annoyed with the heroes' resistance, All For One blows Edgeshot and Endeavor away. Then he uses Ultimate Quirk Combination to activates a numerable amount of Quirks in his right arm, causing it to become an enlarged mutated arm filled with numerous deadly screws and hardened minerals. All For One claims the blasts up until now were to wear All Might down, not to kill him, but now he is going to crush him with that last attack. The villain claims to himself that he can confirm that One For All no longer dwells within All Might and the hero is using up what embers of the Quirk he has left.
All For One charges at All Might with his heavily empowered and mutated arm. While heading towards All Might, All For One knows from battling him that All Might no longer has One For All and tells All Might that he knows who he gave it: Izuku Midoriya. All For One taunts All Might by saying that he has also failed as a teacher, because he has no control over his student and will die full of regrets.
Both All For One and All Might clash by punching each other with their enhanced fists, which creates a huge shockwave that devastates a great portion of the area. As they struggle, All For One uses his Impact Recoil Quirk to revert all the damage to All Might. The hero replies that he must live to reprimand Izuku, for his actions. All For One realizes that the last embers of One For All inside him are resisting to keep from going out until he fulfill his duty.
All For One is going to overwhelm All Might, but at that moment, he hears the kind words of encouragement of Nana. Inspired by his former's masters words, All Might reverts his arm back to its weak form, allowing All For One to crush it. This gives All Might an opening to focuses One For All in his left arm. All For One realizes that he has miscalculated, before All Might land a direct punch to All For One's face, breaking off the rest of his mask.[10]
Gran Torino sees how All Might has followed his advice to hit All For One, but he realizes that the blow has not been strong enough. All For One also realizes this and states that tricks like that aren't normally in All Might's arsenal and that's why his attack was weak. All Might refutes that and explains his back simply wasn't in it.
The Symbol of Peace concentrates the remaining embers of One For All to his severely damaged right arm while remembering the time Nana officially passed the torch to him. All Might dodges under All For One's attempted air cannon and strikes the master of evil with his most powerful technique: United States of Smash!
All Might bids farewell to All For One as his attack creates a twister so powerful it sways the news helicopter and carries nearby buildings through the air. Toshinori Yagi also bids farewell to the last embers of One For All that extinguishes forever inside him. After the dust clears, All For One is in a crater, badly beaten and unconscious, while All Might transforms into his Hero form while raising his arm.
The reporter from the news helicopter announces All Might's victory, which causes the citizens watching to start celebrating. Edgeshot wants All Might to preserve his strength, but Gran Torino stops him and says to let him be because this is his last job as the Symbol of Peace and the No. 1 hero.
The Next Generation: Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki[]
With the battle over, Pro Heroes begin carrying out rescue operations to save people who are trapped under rubble as a result of All Might and All For One's battle. Meanwhile, Endeavor and All Might watch All For One being placed in the iron maiden. Now that All For One is properly imprisoned, All Might points to the camera and delivers a message "Next, it's your turn".
The citizens watching take All Might's message as a warning to all villains out there, causing the citizens to praise All Might and start celebrating again. However, Izuku knows what All Might's message truly meant; that All Might can't use One For All anymore and his legacy is left to his protégé. Izuku now realizes that All Might's time has truly come to an end and starts crying.[11]
The next day, All For One is incarcerated into Tartarus, a special prison for criminals for whom the death penalty is not enough. All For One, in a wheelchair and on life support, wonders where he is, much to the prison guard's annoyance who is pushing him to his holding cell. The prison guard tells him his location. All For One apologizes, causing the prison guard to assume that he is unable to see.
All For One reveals that for the past six years he has been using an Infrared Quirk to sense his surroundings as a way to compensate for his blindness, but due to all the sensors he is unable to sense anything and apologizes to the prison guard. The prison guard is flabbergasted that All For One fought All Might in such a condition.
In one of the holding cells, Stain is seen. While being pushed to his holding cell, All For One is not angry or upset for losing against All Might. Instead, All For One is happy because his defeat at All Might's hands will grow Tomura's hatred for All Might as well as his regret for being unable to save his master, which will motivate him to gain more experience and become stronger. All For One smiles, knowing that even though he lost the battle, he still will succeed as being the better teacher than All Might. All For One says to himself that Tomura is the successor who will inherit the All For One.
Thus, the battle between All For One and One For All is passed on to the next generation: Tomura Shigaraki and Izuku Midoriya.[12]
The Consequences of the End of the Symbol of Peace[]
One day after the battle between All Might and All For One, society has learned about All Might's true form and that he will no longer be able to fight. This revelation has caused great tension and uncertainty amongst society as they have lost their "Symbol of Peace".
At the Police Headquarters, the police officials discuss the events that have transpired; they have learned nothing new from the Nomus they captured except how they are possibly manufactured, the League of Villains ringleader, All For One, is imprisoned and All Might will no longer be able to fight. One of the police officials believes these events to be a victory. However, the Commissioner General another says that they have lost their "Symbol of Peace" which will inspire villainy to rise once more and as a result, there is no victory.
The Commissioner-General comments that All For One's imprisonment will only further motivate Tomura Shigaraki to grow and become even stronger. A police official concludes that they have relied on the Symbol of Peace, All Might, too much which has led to these unfortunate circumstances; the police official states that the Police Force can no longer be on the sidelines by retrieving villains and must reform their policies so that they can take a more active role against villains.
Naomasa and Gran Torino visit All Might in the hospital, who is bandaged and recovering from his injuries. He tells his friends that he can no longer use One For All and that although he can no longer be the Symbol of Peace, he still has things to do. Naomasa is in disbelief that Tomura Shigaraki is Nana Shimura's grandson. On that topic, Gran Torino comments that Nana Shimura and her husband had a child. However, Nana's husband was killed and she put her only son in foster care to keep him safe from her dangerous life. Nana also requested that Toshinori and Gran Torino have no contact with her family.
All Might states that he must go after Tomura, however, Gran Torino tells him that his judgment is too clouded to pursue Tomura. He can't look at Nana's relative as a criminal and Gran Torino fears he will hesitate the next time they meet. Gran Torino states that he and Naomasa will handle the search for the League of Villains and Tomura. Gran Torino suggests to All Might that he must remain at U.A and carry out what he must still do: helping his successor, Izuku Midoriya.
At Kamino, Yokohama, Izuku along with his group meet up with Shoto and Momo and turn Katsuki into the police for his safety. Afterwards, Izuku, Shoto, Momo, Tenya, and Eijiro part ways and head home. Shoto arrives at the Todoroki Abode where his sister Fuyumi greets him and states that their father is in the training hall.
Shoto walks by the training room and assumes that his father will take the position of Number One Hero now that All Might can no longer fight. Shoto sees the training hall, only to find that the room is nearly in shambles due to Endeavor's rage; Endeavor refuses to accept the position of Number One hero.
Izuku arrives home and his mother is glad to see that he is safe and sound. Izuku goes to his bedroom and lies on his bed, exhausted from everything that has transpired, and wonders if he made the right choice to rescue Katsuki. He falls asleep after reading reports about All Might's retirement. Later that evening, Izuku receives a message from All Might. Izuku runs out of his home and heads towards All Might's location.
At the Takoba Municipal Beach Park, Izuku goes to All Might. However, All Might greets Izuku with a Texas Smash as a part of his scolding for coming to the front lines during the Hideout Raid. All Might reveals to Izuku that he can no longer use One For All and demonstrates this by entering his hero form, only to exit it in a split second afterward. All Might informs Izuku that he is retiring as a Hero since he is in a state where he cannot fight anymore.
All Might scolds his protégé for never doing what he is told and for his recklessness in rescuing Katsuki. However, All Might is glad that his recklessness did not get him injured this time and is proud of Izuku for that. All Might hugs Izuku and apologizes for not being a proper mentor towards him, but he promises to spend his life grooming the young man to become the next symbol of peace.
Izuku begins to cry, to which All Might scolds him again. Izuku now fully understands that the age of All Might has come to an end.[13]
A New Era of Teaching Begins[]
The Hero Billboard Chart JP, a chart that tabulates the rankings of Pro Heroes in Japan twice per year, announces the headlines. All Might's true form has had Japan and even the Hero Headquarters in America in an uproar. All Might's retirement has also contributed to this uproar. Best Jeanist, the Number Four Hero, survived the Kamino Ward incident and is taking a rest from his duties as a Hero for an extended amount of time.
Meanwhile, the Number 32 Hero, Ragdoll whose Search Quirk was stolen (reported by the Hero Billboard Chart as an abnormal change) has become unfit for duty and thus her Pro Hero career has been put on hold indefinitely. At the Pussycats Agency, Kota Izumi sees the members of the Hero Team comfort Tomoko Shiretoko as she cries over her stolen Quirk and the end of her career as a hero.
At U.A. High School, All Might meets with Principal Nezu alongside Vlad King and Eraser Head. Nezu thanks All Might for his victory against All For One as many lives were saved thanks to his intervention. Even though All Might will be continuing as a teacher, Nezu points out that since All Might is no longer able to fight, the parents' of the U.A. students, as well as society, are anxious and worried about the safety of the children. Nezu reiterates that they must instill faith and confidence in heroes.
Vlad King agrees with Nezu and vows to nurture, raise and protect the students more strongly than before. Nezu decides that now is the time to implement a plan he had in mind for quite some time. He and Vlad King will visit the parents of Class 1-B while Shota and All Might will visit the parents of Class 1-A as part of the plan. The plan Nezu wants to implement is the transition of U.A. to a boarding school.
Shota and All Might visit the Jiro household. Kyotoku Jiro is concerned about his daughter being put in harm's way under U.A.'s supervision and isn't too fond of sending his daughter to U.A.'s dormitories. Shota admits that U.A has been negligent in their duties and vows to correct them as well as raise Kyoka into a fine hero. Kyoka, who has recovered, enters the room and reveals that her family has already agreed to the proposal. In fact, Kyotoku is a huge fan of All Might and was inspired by his heroic victory over All For One, and he is happy that his daughter will grow into a powerful hero like All Might.
They leave and head to the Bakugo Household. On the way, Shota offers to buy All Might a drink because he's the reason they didn't face more criticism from the Jiros. All Might laughs and says he's not like him at all. Also, he does not believe that with the next family the situation will be resolved so easily.
Inside the Bakugo household, Mitsuki Bakugo immediately agrees with the all-dorm system. She smacks Katsuki and yells at him for being weak and the reason for all U.A.'s troubles. Katsuki and his mother begin arguing with each other while Masaru Bakugo tries to calm them down. All Might is surprised by the issues in the Bakugo family.
After calming down, Mitsuki explains that she's grateful for U.A.'s dorm system because she's having trouble dealing with Katsuki's attitude. She notes that Katsuki's rashness along with his gifted abilities has resulted in him being pampered and getting shallow praise for what he has which has resulted in his arrogant nature. However, she is happy that Shota sees her son for who he is instead of his gifted abilities. The Bakugo family bows, entrusting the teachers for helping groom Katsuki into a hero. All Might nudges Shota and whispers that he'll buy him a drink.
As Shota and All Might leave the Bakugo household, Katsuki asks All Might what Izuku is to him. Unable to tell Katsuki the truth, All Might informs Katsuki that Izuku is a student to him who has great potential just like Katsuki. Satisfied to a degree with All Might's answer, Katsuki thanks All Might for everything and goes back inside his house. All Might decides to visit Izuku's home by himself while Shota visits the rest of Class 1-A.
All Might visits the Midoriya Apartment, with Izuku and Inko flabbergasted that the former Number One hero has entered their abode. All Might even notices all the collectibles Izuku has of him inside his room. After the three sit down at the table, All Might asks Izuku's mother for her permission to send Izuku to the U.A. dorms. However, Inko is against the dorm system and wants to pull Izuku out of U.A. High School altogether.
Inko explains that she is worried about her son because he has gotten severely injured several times since his Quirk miraculously appeared and he enrolled at U.A. High. Izuku looks up to All Might since he was Quirkless, and she is deeply concerned about her son's future as a Pro Hero after witnessing All Might's brutal battle, unable to bear the fact that Izuku will also have to face such bloody battles with possibly no hope of full recovery. Inko states that she has no confidence in U.A. and is unable to entrust her son to them.[14]
Izuku tries to convince his mother that his injuries are a result of his inability to control his Quirk, but Inko replies that regardless it is still the responsibility of U.A. to take care of their students which they have not done. Inko understands that she is being a strict parent but the safety of her child is her number one priority and she is fine with Izuku continuing to become a hero since it is his dream as long as he is in a safe environment, which is why she wants to send Izuku to another school.
Izuku is shocked by his mother's revelation and rushes to his room, Izuku runs out of the room while All Might understands Izuku's frustration; that it must be painful to not being able to study at the same place his idol went to. Izuku returns and says to his mother it's okay if he has to go to another school. Then he shows her the letter Kota penned to him for saving his life. Izuku tells his mother that at the training camp, he saved a boy who hated Quirks and Heroes from a villain. Izuku understands that he has a long way to go but for a little while, Kouta and his thank you letter made him a hero. Izuku declares that even if he cannot study at U.A., he will still keep dreaming to become a hero.
All Might is shocked that Izuku is willing to continue his dream even though it is not as the same place as his idol; All Might is impressed with Izuku's growth and is glad that he is going on his own path instead of following him, his idol. All Might transforms into his muscular form and kneels before Izuku and Inko, bowing his head, much to their shock.
All Might apologizes to Inko for allowing harm to come to Izuku and then reveals that he believes Izuku should become the new symbol of peace. All Might returns to his weak form and expresses his desire to raise Izuku to prevent him from walking down a blood-stained path to heroism. The former Symbol of Peace also understands Inko's concerns about the current U.A but asks her to look to the future U.A. that's trying to change for its students. All Might promises that he will nurture and protect Izuku even at the cost of his own life.
Inko is shocked at All Might's resolve, causing her to fall to her knees. Inko states that all she wants is Izuku to be happy and tells All Might that he should never trade his life away for someone else's sake. She asks All Might to live properly and raise her son. If All Might promises her that, she will allow Izuku to attend U.A. High again. All Might promises to do so and Inko asks that he take good care of her son. Izuku promises to not make his mother worry any longer.[15] Inko has an internal monologue where she seems to talk to her husband about how much Izuku has grown.[16]
Outside, All Might reflects on Inko's request to him to live properly. Acting like a natural-born hero, it's been a while since anyone said that to him. All Might compliments Izuku's mother for being a wonderful parent, telling Izuku that she reminds him of his master Nana. All Might leaves and tells Izuku that he will see him at school.
Thus, a new life has begun for Class 1-A, arriving towards U.A.[17]
