Gashly Eijiju (嬰兒樹 ギャシュリー Eiji-ju Gyashurī?) is a villain who was imprisoned in Tartarus for wide-range devastation. He escaped due to a prison riot caused by All For One before joining the latter's forces.

Appearance[]

Gashly is a tall, slender man who dresses in very dark clothing, including a black cloak and top hat giving him the appearance of a silhouette or a shadow. He wears a white mask with holes, seemingly for visibility, although his eyes cannot be seen through them. His arms and legs stay hidden due to his shadow-like appearance but still holds onto objects such as a black umbrella he holds above his head at all times and a book. As he was attacked, his hat fell off him, revealing his light-colored short hair.

Personality[]

Not much is know about Gashly's personality, but it can be assumed that he is a sadistic and dangerous villain as he caused devastation using his Quirk which led to him being locked up in Tartarus. He has a gentleman's appearance, seeing himself to be well-stoic and mannered such as carrying a umbrella under a thick rainstorm. He likes to read, even during his battles because his Quirk was powerful enough to overwhelm them. Although he works alone, he was indebted to All For One for freeing him from the inescapable Tartarus and sworn his allegiance to join his cause.

History[]

Gashly is a villain who caused mass devastation to society by using his Quirk to overwhelm others via battles of attrition.[1] He also was sadistically insane and psychopathic due to the nature of his Quirk taking on the image of infants and using them to cause hysteria and panic. Because of this, he was defeated by the Heroes, captured, and locked up in Tartarus for his heinous crimes.

While he was imprisoned, All For One used Tomura Shigaraki's body to break into the prison and free himself. Gashly was freed by him, along with several other high-level villains like Kunieda, Dictator, and others and telling them to join him on his path of devastation to become the greatest demon lord.[2] As a result of being freed by him, Gashly swears his allegiance to the Demon Lord should he ever need assistance.

Final War Arc[]

Takoba Stadium Battle (Anime)

Gashly takes on the Heroes.

Gashly remains on the sidelines until it is the right time for All For One to take One For All from Izuku Midoriya. As soon as he determins that none of the Heroes are nearby, All For One uses his Warping to summon an army of villains at his disposal. Gashly is teleported by All For One to the exact spot where his double agent, Yuga Aoyama, had taken him to. However, the villains are then caught off guard when the Heroes use the Warp Gate Quirk to warp themselves onto the battlefield.[3]

As the Heroes and Villains about to clash, All Might activates the "Troy" system trap, capturing a majority of villains, including Gashly, into large cages before the Heroes use Warp Gate to shove them all in, splitting the villains across several locations around the country. Gashly is teleported to the Takoba National Stadium where he is confronted by the Heroes consisting of Hanta Sero, Rikido Sato, Mashirao Ojiro, Kosei Tsuburaba, Thirteen, and Ryukyu.[4]

One by one, the Heroes slowly winning each battle all over the country until the only battles that remain are the battle at the Taboka Stadium and the final battle between Izuku and Tomura at Mt. Fuji. After every other villains at the stadium is defeated, Gashly unleashes a horde of endless puppet-infants to overwhelm the Heroes fighting there dealing with him in the battles of attrition. The Heroes struggle against his hoard of puppets, when reinforcements from an army of heroes gathered by Shota Aizawa comes to conclude the fight. As Gashly is distracted, Setsuna Tokage, Togaru Kamakiri, Ectoplasm, and others arrive through a Warp Gate and swiftly conclude it with Setsuna and Togaru ambushing the villain from above and knocking him out with a two-pronged combo attack, defeating him.[1]

Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: Gashly is one of Tartarus' most dangerous prisoners and All For One's most deadly assassins. He was known to conjure hordes of puppet infants to psychologically taunt his foes and overwhelm them in a battle of attrition as he can easily wear down Heroes with his Quirk alone without doing it himself physically. Because of this, he was a villain who would terrorize cities and towns with his abilities and was imprisoned in Tartarus before his escape. During the Final War, Gashly was able to overwhelm the Heroes who were teleported to the Takoba Stadium with just his Quirk all while reading his favorite book and holding an umbrella. It took the combined assaults from other Heroes who teleported to the stadium by Shota Aizawa to defeat him in a guerilla ambush.

Quirk[]

Unnamed Puppet Infants Quirk: Gashly's Quirk allows him to spawn a mass amount of infant-like puppets that spread from a dark mist below him. The puppets themselves come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and are very malleable as they can be stretched and morphed out of shape without ripping apart. It is implied that the book that Gashly holds is read to summon and control the puppets.[1]
