Garvey (ガーヴィー Gāvī?) is a Villain from My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.

Appearance

Garvey is a villain of enormous size with a batrachian-like appearance, similar to a frog or a toad. His skin is dark and numerous lumps grow on his back, which is where he stores the attacks he devours with his Quirk.

Personality

History

Years ago, during Eraser Head's Hero Work-Studies, Garvey launches an attack on the town he is patrolling. The Buster Union, alongside Eraser Head's schoolmates Present Mic and Mister Blaster, try to attack Garvey. However, their Quirks are absorbed and released back at them, causing massive damage. Garvey eventually arrives at the area where Eraser Head and his friend Loud Cloud are evacuating and releases Present Mic's Voice, knocking out His Purple Highness and causing debris to fall on Loud Cloud. As Eraser Head begins to question how to beat Garvey, he hears Loud Cloud's voice cheering him on, and remembers that his Erasure Quirk forces Villains to fight on even terms.[1]

As it starts to rain, Eraser Head continues his fight with Garvey, injuring his eye and launching debris into his face. Garvey decides to end Eraser Head once and for all, and releases all the Quirks he had stored. However, this is the moment Eraser Head was waiting for: using both his Quirk and his Capture Weapon, he manages to feed Garvey the Quirks, causing them to explode inside of him, knocking him unconscious. Although he is successfully arrested, Eraser Head soon discovers he didn't actually hear Loud Cloud's voice encouraging him: he had been crushed to death by the debris.[2]

Synopsis

Paranormal Liberation War Arc

During the raid at Jaku General Hospital, Kyudai Garaki revealed to Present Mic that the attack that killed Loud Cloud was actually meant for him to acquire Eraser Head's Erasure.[3]

Abilities

Quirk

Stock (ストック Sutokku): Garvey's Quirk allows him to "devour" incoming attacks and store them in lumps that form on his back when he does so. He can release these stored attacks whenever he wants.[1]

Trivia

  • Garvey's name, appearance, and Quirk may be a reference to the video game character, Kirby.
