Quirk Apprehension Test Arc

Denki Kaminari appears for the first time to participate in the Quirk Apprehension Test taught by Shota Aizawa, doing his best after the teacher threatened to expel the student who got the worst marks.[1][2] In the end he Ranked 16th in the test, so in theory he is spared from being expelled, although like most students he is surprised when Shota reveals that the expulsion was a lie, a rational deception to force them to draw out their limits.[3]

Battle Trial Arc

Denki is partnered with Kyoka for the Battle Trial.

He is teamed with Kyoka Jiro as "Team G" after being randomly drawn, participating as the Hero team. Kyoka uses her Earphone Jack to locate the rival team, indicating it to Denki, who advances with his Quirk ready to be used. It is unknown how well they both did in the trial itself.

After the Battle Trial, he tries to ask Ochaco Uraraka out, only for her to forget him and run to ask Izuku if he's okay.[4]

U.S.J. Arc

On the way to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, Denki is part of the conversation with his classmates about Katsuki Bakugo. He tells the latter that from just one talk in their first meeting, they can tell that he is hostile as Katsuki shouts that he will regret his statement.

Denki electrocutes the foe villains.

When thugs of the League of Villains attack, Denki tries to evacuate along with the rest of his class. However, Denki is warped to the mountain side of the Unforeseen Simulation Joint by Kurogiri. Along with Momo and Kyoka, he finds himself surrounded. He tries to call for help, but to no avail. Kyoka then kicks him into one of the villains, causing the villain to be electrocuted. One of the villains tries to attack him, but is stopped by Kyoka's Quirk. Momo then creates an insulator sheet which hides her and Kyoka, allowing Denki to use Indiscriminate Shock 1.3 Million Volts, which defeats the villains without harming Momo and Kyoka.

However, one of the villains ambushes them and takes an airheaded Denki hostage, forcing Momo and Kyoka to stop fighting back and remain motionless. Fortunately, the villain holding Denki is shot down by Snipe, freeing him from his grasp. He is then seen with his class after the battle with the League of Villains is over.

U.A. Sports Festival Arc

Denki defeats a Villain-Bot in the Obstacle Race.

After Shota announces that the U.A. Sports Festival is approaching, Denki says that he plans to become a professional Hero's sidekick after he graduates, to which Kyoka states that many people become sidekicks and fail to become real Heroes and thinks that Denki is the kind of person who would become like that, which disheartens him.

Denki competes in the Obstacle Race, where he places 24th, allowing him to compete in the next event, the Human Cavalry Battle. He teams up with Shoto, Momo, and Tenya. Shoto explains that Denki will be on the left, using his Quirk to shoot sparks to prevent others from getting too close to them. After the Human Cavalry begins, Denki and his team confront Izuku and his team.

Denki joins Shoto's team in the Cavalry Battle.

Shoto orders Momo to prepare an insulator sheet and tells Denki to prepare to release his electricity. Shoto covers himself, along with Momo and Tenya, with the insulator sheet while Denki releases a huge amount of electricity, electrocuting and stunning the other teams attacking them. Afterwards, Shoto immobilizes the stunned teams by freezing their legs. Shoto takes one of the headbands of the teams while charging forward to fight Izuku's team.

Fumikage's Dark Shadow tries to attack Shoto, but Momo uses her Quirk to block it. Shoto's team continues fighting, but Izuku's team proves to be quite resilient. With only a minute left, Tenya tells his team to hold on tight as he uses Recipro Burst to accelerate his movement forcibly to blazing speeds, allowing him and his team to speed past their enemies in a blink of an eye, which catches Izuku's team off guard and allows Shoto to grab Izuku's 10-million headband in the confusion. Unable to move due to the Engine stall of Tenya's move, Denki and his team are forced to fight Izuku's team for the remaining minute of the Cavalry Battle.

Denki's team steals Team Midoriya's points.

For the last ten seconds of the Cavalry Battle, Denki discharges electricity against Izuku's team, but Fumikage uses his Quirk to block it. The ten seconds are up and the Human Cavalry Battle ends. Denki's team places first, which allows him and his teammates to participate in the final event.

Denki is seen eating lunch during the noonday break. Afterwards, he and Minoru trick the girls of Class 1-A into doing the cheering battle, saying it is a message from their homeroom teacher. After the girls of Class 1-A walk out in their cheerleading outfits, Denki and Minoru hold thumbs up in their success. Later, he partakes one of the recreational events before the final event starts. A final event is a tournament event and Denki's opponent in the first round is Ibara. After Izuku defeats Hitoshi, Denki comments to Katsuki that Izuku used the same overthrow that he used on him, to which Katsuki tells Denki to shut his mouth.

Denki loses to Ibara.

During the first few seconds of his first match, Denki charges his electricity and uses his Indiscriminate Discharge 1.3 Million Volts technique. Ibara simply turns her back to Denki and commands her hair to create a shield of vines to protect her from the shock. Denki enters his dumb state and Ibara counterattacks by sending vines at him. The vines wrap Denki up and hang him over the stage, immobilizing him, which results in his defeat and elimination from the tournament.

Denki, sitting next to Hanta, comments that Katsuki's reaction speed makes it impossible to distract him, saying that Ochaco's Quirk only activates when she touches her target and against Katsuki's fast reflexes, the odds are against her. After Eijiro returns to watch the match between Izuku and Shoto, Denki congratulates Eijiro for making it to the second round.

After the match between Fumikage and Katsuki ends, Denki agrees with Hanta's comment about Fumikage winning, saying to Hanta that he also thought Fumikage would win.[5] Denki, along with his class, watches the closing ceremony of U.A.'s Sports Festival.[6]

Vs. Hero Killer Arc

Stun Gun Hero "Charge Bolt"

Two days after the Sports Festival, Denki is shown in class. During the Hero Informatics period, Shota shows the Pro Hero nominations, revealing that Denki received 272 Pro Hero nominations. Afterwards, the students in Class 1-A have to decide on Hero Names. Denki has some trouble thinking of a name until Kyoka suggests the name ‘jamming-yay’, to which he comments on her intellectual idea, only for him to get annoyed when she reveals that it's because he always "jams" his brain. Denki later comes up with a Hero name: Stun Gun Hero "Chargebolt" (スタンガンヒーロー・チャージズマ Sutan Gan Hīrō Chājizuma?).[7]

After Class 1-A is finished formulating their Hero names, Denki is given his personalized workplace list in order to choose a workplace that he wants to train at. On the day of the workplace training, Denki is at the train station with his class so that he can travel to the workplace of his choice by train.[8]

Denki and his classmates leave for their internships.

The workplace training comes to an end and Denki returns to U.A. In Class 1-A, Denki talks to Minoru about his workplace experience. Denki then notes that out of everyone in the class, Izuku, Shoto, and Tenya have improved the most. Denki starts talking about Stain and finds the video detailing his ideology to be cool. After seeing Tenya's reaction, Denki tries to apologize, but Tenya replies that it is fine and he understands if he finds Stain to be cool.

Denki later watches the rescue training race and sets his bet on Mashirao, though he is amazed to see Izuku jump to an early lead using his new moves and questions his improvement.[9]

After Foundational Hero Studies is finished, Denki is in the boys' locker room changing into his school uniform.[10]

Final Exams Arc

Denki is paired with Mina to fight Principal Nezu.

One week before the finals, Denki and Mina admit that they have not been studying due to the many events that have taken place throughout the semester. He is also annoyed when a smug Minoru reveals that he scored in the top ten on the midterm, being upset that the latter is really intelligent. Izuku and Tenya encourage Denki to do his best while Shoto notes that if he had not skipped classes, then he would not have bad grades, to which Denki asks Shoto to mind his words, not wanting to hear about attending every single class. Momo, who had scored first on the midterm, offers to help him and Mina study for the finals, which they accept, along with Kyoka, Hanta, and Mashirao.

Back in class, Izuku reveals the content of the exercise test to the class, much to Denki and Mina's happiness; Mezo notes that they are happy because they do not have to adjust their Quirks for real-life opponents. That weekend, Denki, Mina, Kyoka, Hanta, and Mashirao meet up at the Yaoyorozu's giant, fancy estate, where Momo helps them study. Thanks to her guidance, Denki and Mina feel they do will well on the three days of written tests. On the day of the exercise test, Shota asks if have some knowledge on the exercise test, to which Mina and Denki exclaim that it will be fighting against robots. However, Nezu bursts Denki and Mina's bubble by revealing that they will be fighting against U.A.'s teachers in their exercise test.[11] Denki is paired with Mina and they must fight Nezu in their test exercise.

Denki and Mina running from the principal.

Mina, Denki, and Nezu arrive in an uninhabited city where Class 1-A's test exercise will take place. In the city, Nezu explains the 30-minute test; Denki and Mina must either handcuff him or one of them must escape the battlefield within 30 minutes in order to win and pass the test. The test begins.[12] Denki and Mina struggle against Nezu, who has commandeered a wrecking ball and uses it to block off the roads leading to the escape gate.[13] Denki and Mina are unable to get to the escape gate or handcuff Nezu, and as a result, they fail the practical test.[14]

Last Minute Twist.

Back in class, Denki is crestfallen that he is unable to go to the summer camp due to failing the practical test. Izuku tries to cheer up those who failed, but Denki launches a comical tirade at Izuku. Soon enough, Shota enters the classroom and informs Class 1-A that all of them are going to the summer camp, which will really be a boot camp, shocking Denki that Izuku was correct. However, Denki will be receiving harsher training at the boot camp for failing the practical test.

Denki, along with his class, goes to Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall to buy necessities for the summer camp. At the shopping mall, Denki decides to buy new shoes.[15]

My Hero Academia: Two Heroes

All Might is invited to a summer trip at "I-Island", a man-made island where the top scientists of the world reside and perform research on Quirks, superpowers that 80% of the world's population has. Izuku is asked to accompany All Might whereas Ochaco and Kyoka were brought as guests by Momo. It is also discovered that Denki and Minoru are present on the island, working part-time as waiters. After a tough day, Melissa invites Minoru and Denki to join them at a formal party that everyone else was invited to.

Wolfram, a mysterious villain who secretly arrived on the island prior, takes control of the island's security system during the party and threatens to kill its residents. He also restrains all of the pro-heroes attending, including All Might, and takes David and his assistant Sam hostage in order to break into the island's vault. As they were running late, Izuku, Melissa, Tenya, Shoto, Momo, Ochaco, Kyoka, Minoru, and Denki are not restrained alongside the pro-heroes at the party and, in order to take back control of the security system, decide to access it by reaching the 200th floor of the building the party is hosted at.

After the students reach the 80th floor, Wolfram and his team become aware of their plan and attempt to apprehend them. While hiding in a plant room, the group attempts to escape from two of the villains until Katsuki and Eijiro accidentally cross paths with them and engage in battle. Shoto helps the others escape to a higher floor and joins Katsuki and Eijiro in their fight. Following the defeat of two of Wolfram's henchmen, the villains learn that their enemies are well-trained students from U.A. High-school. Wolfram decides to increase security measures as a response, sending countless security drones after the kids. Shoto, Katsuki, and Eijiro are the first group to get ambushed by the robots.

The group finds an opening through a door on the ceiling, and volunteer Minoru for the job. Denki convinced Minoru to help them by telling him that he will get a harem after doing so. Minoru uses his Quirk to climb up the tower and lower a ladder to allow the others to climb up with him.

Denki makes a promise with Minoru.

Izuku's group passes the hundredth floor and Denki notices the tower's shutter doors aren't closing in on them like earlier. Momo and Tenya agree that the villains are likely trying to lead them into a trap. Izuku and co. reach the 130th floor are notice the main room is flooded with security drones. Tenya believes the villains have completely shifted from trying to blockade to capturing. Izuku deduces that the villains have likely realized they're U.A. students and are taking them more seriously. Momo creates a sheet of insolation for the group and they proceed with Plan A. Tenya grabs on to Denki and throws him using an engine boost. Denki activates his Quirk and lands on the swarm of robots. He uses his Indiscriminate Shock 1.3 Million volts Super Move but the robots are able to deflect it. Denki ups his voltage to 2 Million and immediately shorts out his brain.

Denki uses Indiscriminate Shock.

The students believe Denki has immobilized the robots and they walk into the room. However, the drones are still fully functional and they restrain Denki before going after his friends. Tenya switches their strategy to Plan B, prompting Momo to create particle flares that can disrupt the robot's communication functions. Momo arms her peers with the smoke bombs and they work together to keep the swarm from advancing.

Minoru follows up by throwing his sticky balls to trap the robots while they're confused. He demands they return Denki and believes he's successfully immobilized them with his Quirk.

Once again the robots surprise the students by leaping over their trapped counterparts to continue their pursuit. Tenya rescues Denki while Kyoka listens for more enemies. They run away from the reinforcements until they reach the 132nd floor. Having short-circuited his brain, Denki is unable to fight back and has to be protected by his friends. Denki then returns back to his normal state when Izuku and All Might defeat Wolfram.

After I-Island is saved from Wolfram's clutches, Denki is seen along with his classmates having a barbecue party and laughing together.[16]

Forest Training Camp Arc

Because Izuku encountered Tomura in the Shopping Mall (who leaves without hurting him), the next day after the shopping trip, at U.A., Shota informs Class 1-A that the destination for the summer camp has been changed and the new destination will only be announced on the day of the event. The first semester has come to a close and summer break has begun.[17]

Denki participates in a swimming competition.

Following the end of the semester, Denki and Minoru arrive at Izuku's apartment and ask him to train at the pool before the training camp begins. They arrive at U.A. High School to ask Shota Aizawa if they can use the pool, which Shota confirms. Denki and Minoru overheard the girls talking about using the school pool. Denki and Minoru only want to see the girls in their bikinis, but foreseeing that Shota would realize their intentions and not give them permission, they invite Izuku under the pretext of using the pool to train. However, Izuku invites all the boys of Class 1-A to participate in endurance training. The girls are present, but in school-issued swimsuits. While Denki is dismayed, Minoru is somewhat satisfied. Both are forced to train by an enthusiastic Tenya, who congratulates them for their "great idea" of training before summer camp.

Both Denki and Minoru end up totally exhausted, so the boys decide to take a break from intense endurance training, while the girls play volleyball. Katsuki abruptly arrives and challenges Izuku, and Tenya decides to hold a competition to see who can swim fifty meters the fastest. The boys go in groups. Denki competes in the group of Katsuki, who wins the race using his Quirk to reach the other end of the pool without even swimming. Denki protests when Shoto does the same. Izuku wins on his turn, so the final race will be between him, Katsuki, and Shoto, but before they can begin, though, Shota arrives and kick all the students out of the pool area.[18]

Class 1-A ready to face the monster.

On the day of the summer camp, Class 1-A boards a bus that will take them to their destination. An hour later, Class 1-A’s bus stops for a restroom break. There, they meet Pixie-Bob and Mandalay, two members of the Wild, Wild Pussycats, who challenge the students to reach base camp past the forest in three hours. Then, all of Class 1-A is forcibly thrown into The Beast's Forest by Pixie-Bob's Quirk, which they must traverse to reach their destination. Monsters made from dirt clods attack them, so they work together to fight their way through the forest. Minoru immobilizes one of the Earth Beast with his sticky balls, trapping it for Denki to leap onto its back and burn it with a 1.3 Million Volts of electricity.[17]

The journey through the forest to the cabin takes them around eight hours before they finally arrive at the facility, battered and tired. It is now 5:20 pm in the evening. Pixie-Bob admits that she thought they would take longer to get to the facility; she praises Class 1-A for figuring out her Earth Beasts quickly and easily. Class 1-A fetch their luggage from the bus and put it in their rooms. Class 1-A go to the dining hall and the Pussycats serve dinner. Denki and Eijiro chow down their food and comment on how good it is. Denki even says that the food even matches the standard of that which Lunch Rush makes.[19]

Denki endures late night extra lessons.

The next morning, Class 1-A are outside the training camp cabin. Shota greets his students and tells them that they will undergo reinforcement training to strengthen and upgrade their Quirks. By running his electric current through a large capacity battery, Denki trains his body to be able to handle large amounts of electricity.

Afterward, Class 1-A and 1-B are tasked with cooking for themselves.[20] Then, Denki and the other students who failed their practical exams take extra lessons with Shota until two in the morning. Training starts back up at seven the next day. Denki and the others are all super tired, but Shota forces them to train anyway.

On the third day of training, Denki is happy because that night, they will participate in a courage test. Shota, however, forces the extra lessons group to sit out for more teaching, much to their displeasure.[21] The Vanguard Action Squad of the League of Villains invade that night. Mandalay sends out a telepathic message warning the students of their arrival.[22] Shortly after Shota leaves, Mandalay sends out two more messages giving permission for students to fight back[23] and informing everyone that Katsuki is one of the villain's targets.[24]

Vlad protects the students.

Denki and his companions remain in Vlad King's custody. They want to go out to help, but Vlad forbids it. They are attacked by a clone of Dabi, but Vlad protects them and quickly defeats the clone. Shota arrives and destroys the clone of Dabi, saying to Vlad King that the villain is only aiming to distract the Pro Heroes.

Despite their efforts by teachers and students, the villains successfully kidnap Katsuki and leave the forest, leaving several students injured. The students return home from camp.[25]

Hideout Raid Arc

Denki sees Eijiro and Tenya arguing.

Two days later, Denki, along with many of his peers, goes to the hospital to visit Izuku. Once there, Denki learns that Eijiro and Shoto plan to rescue Katsuki. Tenya is totally against their plan and argues with Eijiro. Denki asks them to calm down because they are in a hospital.[26] A doctor arrives and asks the class to leave the room so that he can talk to Izuku privately.

Although he does not oppose the intentions of his classmates, he does not participate in it.[27]

Provisional Hero License Exam Arc

Class 1-A depressed after being scolded.

Following Katsuki’s rescue and the retirement of All Might, Nezu orders the construction of the Heights Alliance, a series of buildings to transform U.A. into a boarding school, in order to protect the students, taking only three days to build them. Shota meets with his students outside of the building. He states they must start preparing to get provisional hero licenses like they had planned to during the training camp.

Before allowing Class 1-A students to enter in their new residence, Shota scolds the entire class for having allowed five of them to rescue Katsuki without a license and did nothing to stop them. He then says that he would have expelled everyone but Katsuki, Toru, and Kyoka (due to them being captured and hospitalized, respectively) from the school, if it weren't for All Might's sudden retirement and asks them to stick to the rules from now on. Shota's criticism makes the atmosphere of Class 1-A gloomy. To lighten up the mood, Katsuki grabs Denki and forces him to overload his Electrification, and leaving him into his idiotic state for the class' amusement. This immediately cheers Class 1-A up.

Denki shows his room.

Class 1-A arrange their luggage in their respective bedrooms. Later that night, the boys of Class 1-A are in the common space on the first floor. The girls of Class 1-A show up and suggest a room showcasing competition. When they check out Denki’s room, the girls consider it too gaudy, with Kyoka stating that this would be the one store at the mall she would avoid. Denki is disappointed that they do not consider his room cool.[28] After seeing all the rooms, Rikido ends up winning the competition, much to Rikido's surprise. He received his votes from the girls because his cake was delicious, which makes Denki and Minoru accuse Rikido of bribing.[29]

Denki and Eijiro wearing their upgraded hero costumes.

The next day, Class 1-A begin their school life anew. In Class 1-A's room, Shota mentions that their first objective will be earning their "Provisional Hero Licenses". To prepare for the Provincial Hero License exam, Class 1-A students will create at least two signature Super Moves that they will use in combat, with his help and that of Cementoss, Ectoplasm, and Midnight[30]. Denki and the rest of Class 1-A are charged with coming up with new special moves and are given a special class to develop their Quirks and come up with them. Denki updates his hero costume and adds on his right forearm a Sharpshooting Gear that fires the Pointers.[31]

The day of the licensing exam arrives and Class 1-A travels to the National Dagobah Arena. The first phase begins and Izuku suggests that Class 1-A stick together, but Katsuki refuses and goes off on his own. Eijiro and Denki follow Katsuki to a street side area of the arena. Katsuki yells at them both to stop talking and Eijiro replies telling Katsuki to relax. A mound of flesh is thrown at Katsuki and Eijiro throws himself in the way to save his friend. The flesh attack transforms Eijiro into a meatball that lands in Seiji Shishikura's hand.[32]

After Katsuki turns in to a meatball too, Denki and Seiji decide to battle; Seiji kneads flesh fingers and fires them at Denki, and Denki retaliates by throwing an object at Seiji. The object explodes, which stops Seiji's attack, which confuses Seiji since Katsuki is a ball of meat. Seiji sees that the object is a grenade; Denki reveals that Katsuki was carrying one of those grenades as he can create simple explosions with them. Seiji realizes that Katsuki gave Denki one of those grenades when he was talking. Denki fires a beam of electricity from his fingertip at Seiji and electrocutes him.

Denki shocks Seiji.

Denki reveals that he is unable to control the flow of electricity by himself, which his new equipment now allows him to. Denki realizes that Katsuki's Explosions have a large range and used his AP Shot against Seiji which has a restricted range so that he would not harm Eijiro or him. Denki tells Seiji that Katsuki may be impulsive, but he is more serious about becoming a hero than most. Denki criticizes Seiji for mocking them when he knows so little about them. Seiji is furious with Denki's comment and angrily replies that he was telling them to know their place.

Suddenly, Katsuki and Eijiro attack Seiji with an Explosion and Hardened fist respectively. Denki comments the reason Katsuki and Eijiro are back to normal is that his flesh ball prisons can be canceled depending on the amount of damage Seiji has taken, which is why Seiji fights at long range. With Seiji defeated, Katsuki and Eijiro begin arguing about their lack of timing until Denki tells them that the other examinees that became balls of flesh have returned to normal as well.

"I misjudged you, you curly-haired bas...!"

Katsuki, Eijiro, and Denki pass the preliminary round. While they head for the winner's waiting room, Denki spots Izuku, Ochaco, and Hanta. Denki goes to greet them and congratulates them on passing. Upon arriving at the waiting room, they find that Shoto, Momo, Tsuyu, Kyoka, and Mezo have already passed the round. Momo is glad that all of them passed. Kyoka says that she thought Katsuki would also be there already, but she thinks that the reason he came later is because of Denki, a comment that bothers him. In the end, all the class 1-A students manage to pass the exam.[33]

While waiting for the organizers to prepare the second exam, which will consist of rescuing victims during a large-scale terrorist attack, Hanta tells Denki and Minoru that Izuku got to fight Camie while she was naked and they both get jealous. Denki and Minoru antagonize Izuku for what he saw, which confuses Izuku, don't allow him to explain. The trio look at Camie who smiles and waves at Izuku. Izuku begins understanding the situation and informs Denki and Minoru that they are misinterpreting everything and what actually happened is not at all what they think, but both still believe that Izuku has some kind of relationship with the girl.[34]

Denki and Eijiro stop Katsuki.

The second phase of the exam begins and Katsuki rushes off on his own again. Once again Eijiro and Denki follow him through the arena. They find two injured people in the mountains but Katsuki tells them to save themselves. Eijiro and Denki are surprised by his behavior but the "injured" noticed that Katsuki knows they're low priority citizens but due his tone being inappropriate, he lose points.[34] The second phase of the exam continues and Katsuki still refuses to help other people that Denki and Eijiro decide to rescue, being very rude to them. The exam ends after Denki and Eijiro save the last two people from H.U.C. [35]

Everyone meets to look over a presentation board revealing who passed the exam. Denki is happy that he has managed to pass the exam and get his license.[36]

Shie Hassaikai Arc

Next day to the Provisional Hero License Exam, Denki finds out like his companions, that Izuku and Katsuki have been punished with House arrest for having fought the night before, and therefore, they will not be able to attend the opening ceremony at Ground Beta. Like many of his classmates, Denki does not hesitate to criticize them saying they did something stupid.[37]

Denki, Hanta and Eijiro react to Neito's mockery

On their way to Ground Beta, Class A-1 meets Neito Monoma, who does not hesitate to make fun of them for having two students fail the exam, while everyone in Class 1-B passed. Denki comments that Neito is still as crazy as ever. Pony Tsunotori informs Class 1-A that Vlad King told them that they will have classes together. Denki comments on Pony being a foreigner due to her inarticulate Japanese, which Neito takes advantage to trick her into taunting Class 1-A, which shocks Denki.

All of U.A. arrive at Ground Beta, where Nezu introduces himself, and explains to the students about the new social and school situation as well as the importance of internships for the students in the Hero program.[38] Then Hound Dog proceeds to growl and scream incoherently into the microphone. Vlad King translate him to remind the students to live a life of moderation, mentioning a fight between two students the night before. Denki and Eijiro wonder what was Hound Dog there for.

When class 1-A returns to their classroom, Shota tells them about Hero Work-Studies, hero activities done off campus, saying that it is a more formalized version of the Field Training they did with pro heroes before. Three days later, Shota Aizawa introduces Class 1-A to the people who will teach them about Hero Internships; the third-year students who rank among the top of all U.A. students known as The Big 3: Mirio Togata, Tamaki Amajiki and Nejire Hado.[39]

Mirio effortlessly takes out more then half of Class 1-A.

The personalities of the three students leave Class 1-A confused, who get even more confused when Mirio Togata challenges them all to a fight. At Gym Gamma, Mirio tells Class 1-A to attack him whenever and wherever they want.[40] Denki, like the rest of his classmates, attacks him, but Mirio easily defeats all of them, thanks to his Quirk Permeation. While Class 1-A recovers, Mirio talk about his Quirk and advises class 1-A to participate in the Hero Work-Studies, as it will help them improve their career to be heroes, just as it helped him become one of the best students in the U.A.[41]

Days later, at U.A in Class 1-A, Denki is surprised to see Eijiro's Hero name, Red Riot, is on the Internet and his Hero debut in defeating the thug and saving civilians is also on the Internet. Denki comments on Eijiro's bad grades; Eijiro notes that Shota prepared supplementary lessons for him.[42]

Remedial Course Arc

Class 1-A glad that they are alright.

Days later, after the police raid at the base of Shie Hassaikai, Izuku, Eijiro, Ochaco and Tsuyu return to their dormitories at the school, where Denki, along the entirety of Class 1-A, is checking to make sure his classmates are doing okay, physically and mentally, after their mission.[43]

U.A. School Festival Arc

At Class 1-A's Heights Alliance, after seeing Mina's dancing skills moves, Denki comments that Kyoka's hobby towards music is also impressive, and talks about her music-themed room, which Kyoka shyly asks Denki to stop commenting on it. Later in the classroom, Shota Aizawa announces that U.A. High School will be having a School Festival. Denki is impressed by the reaction of his friend Eijiro, who asks if it's really okay to be so carefree at those times with the proliferation of villains.

"It's awesome that you can play so many instruments."

Shota explains that the festival is sponsored by the other U.A. departments. However, Shota points out that part of the festival will be within U.A. and tells Class 1-A to pick out a program to perform at the festival. Tenya Ida asks ideas from Class 1-A; Denki suggest a maid café but his classmates have other suggestions and the class ends without reach an agreement.

Back at Heights Alliance, Tenya believes that Class 1-A should do a program where everyone can blow off steam. Mina suggests dancing, to which Shoto Todoroki unexpectedly agrees. Then Minoru reminds them all that dancing requires music, so the whole class looks at Kyoka

Though, Kyoka believes that music has nothing to do with heroism and is simply just a hobby, Denki says to her that he finds it really awesome that she can play so many instruments. Then, Koji tells her that playing music can help put smiles on people's faces. Encouraged by her peers, Kyoka decides to help Class 1-A with music. All of them agreeing with dance and music, Class 1-A's school festival program will be a live performance and dance with party space.[44]

"The guitar is the star of the band!"

Next day, they decide who will be the members of the musical band; Katsuki plays the drums, Momo plays the piano, and Kyoka herself will be playing the bass and be the vocalist, and requires two guitarists. Denki and Fumikage are chosen for these positions after showing their skills with the guitars. With the musical band formed, the rest of Class 1-A is divided into the Dance team and Staging team.[45] Until the festival, the Band team constantly practices the music, and on the appointed day, the performance of Class 1-A ends up being a huge success.[46]

After their performance, Denki and classmates continue to enjoy the rest of the events and attractions offered by the festival, like the Beauty Contest. Then, along with Mina, Toru and Minoru, he goes to the haunted house. Until the festival ends, he enjoys the festivities.[47]

Pro Hero Arc

At Class 1-A's dormitory, Fumikage sneezes which Denki believes that he has been mentioned in a conversation and assumes that a fan mentioned him. Fumikage replies that it's too early for him to have any fans. Later, they receive a visit from the Pussycats, who came to celebrate their returns after a long hiatus.[48]

Days later, at the U.A. dorms, Denki and his classmates watch a television report of a Nomu attack in the city, watching Endeavor being overwhelmed by High-End.[49] After Endeavor defeats High End stands up victorious, Shoto collapses to his knees, relieved his father is still alive. Denki along with his classmates approaches him to console him.[50]

Joint Training Arc

Denki asks if the special guest is a girl.

Denki and his classmates head to the Ground Gamma to take part in a Joint Training Exercise against Class 1-B. Professors Eraser Head and Vlad King explain to the students that for the occasion there will be a guest who will also participate with them. Denki asks if she's a girl, but it turns out to be Hitoshi Shinso, from Class 1-C of the General Department.[51]

After Hitoshi introduces himself, saying that he is there to become a hero and not to make friends, the teachers explain the rules and victory conditions of the matches, in which Hitoshi will participate in one team of each class. Katsuki protests saying that having Hitoshi as a member of the team is like having a deadweight due to his lack of experience. Denki berates his classmates for his comment, but Hitoshi says that Katsuki is right, which makes Denki praise Hitoshi for his maturity and good sense.

Class A Team 1 welcomes Hitoshi.

Vlad King and Eraser Head decide to form teams by draw, and Denki ends up teaming up with Tsuyu, Eijiro, and Koji, participating in the First Round against the class 1-B team consisting of Ibara Shiozaki, Kosei Tsuburaba, Hiryu Rin, and Jurota Shishida. Hitoshi Shinso is added to Class 1-A's team, where all members welcome him.

The match begins and Class 1-A laments they didn't get to form a proper plan. They decide that regardless they have to fight to win. Denki believes they might be better served by splitting up but Eijiro refutes this because this would leave each of them alone and vulnerable. Jurota, carrying Kosei on his back, suddenly attack them and smashes Tsuyu and Eijiro while Kosei captures Koji with his Quirk. That ambush leaves Team A so defenseless that even Denki comments in fear that they are already going to be defeated, but Hitoshi manages to stop Jurota with his Quirk and Artificial Vocal Cords.[52]

Jurota getting electrocuted by Denki.

During the scuffle, Hitoshi tries to capture Jurota with his binding cloths, but is trapped by Kosei's Air Prison, who wakes up Jurota from his brainwash. Denki rushes to both Jurota and Kosei but Jurota smacks Denki away and receives a powerful shock for touching him. Denki's surprised Jurota still had the strength to send him flying despite the electric shock. Tsuyu captures Kosei and carries him to Class 1-A's jail but Jurota chases after she and Denki are dismayed his electricity didn't paralyze the beast. Later on Class 1-B ends the first skirmish with a 2-1 lead (Koji and Eijiro captured).

Hitoshi apologizes for his slowness in capturing Jurota, but Tsuyu and Denki encourage him. Tsuyu comes up with an idea and tells Denki to use his Sharpshooting Gear to locate Jurota. One of Denki's pointers latched on to Jurota's back leg. Tsuyu masks the trio's smell by covering them with mucus secreted from her body. In order to mask Denki and Hitoshi's smell, she used her mucus to give them an odor that would allow them to trick Jurota's sense of smell.[53]

Ibara pulls Denki into the fray.

Hiryu notices Denki's point on Jurota and Ibara pulls Denki out of the field with her vines. Hiryu and Jurota prepare to retreat as Denki plans to shock all three of them with his Quirk. Ibara quickly traps him with her Crucifixion and protects herself with Faith's Shield.

Denki tries to shock Jurota with his sharpshooting but Hiryu uses his scales to knock the pointer off if his ally's leg. Ibara believes Hiryu is telling her to spread the vines but she gets brainwashed by Hitoshi. This was Denki's plan all along. He wanted to get captured so that Class 1-B's team divided their attention. This gave Hitoshi the opening he needed to subdue Ibara's troublesome Quirk. Hiryu quickly realizes that Hitoshi has destroyed their communication. Tsuyu quickly returns in her camo form and dropkicks Hiryu. Jurota then prepares to attack Hitoshi, but Tsuyu throws Hiryu into his head and knocks them both out. All Class 1-B's members are taken to the jail and Class 1-A wins the set 4-2.[54]

Team 1-A reflects on their mistakes from the 1st Round.

After their round, Shota Aizawa asks his students what they learned from the battle. While his teammates realize the mistakes they made and know in what aspects they have to improve, Denki thinks highly of his performance and believes he did great. However, Shota scolds Denki and tells him to stop acting so recklessly.[55]

After this, he stays to see and discuss the other matches. He personally congratulates Kyoka after her team's victory in the fourth round,[56] and celebrates with the rest of his classmates Class 1-A victory over Class 1-B in the Joint Training Battle.[57] Despite the fierce competition, there are no hard feelings, and both classes hang out together after the exercise, happily socializing in the common area.[58]

My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising

During fall, the Hero Public Safety Commission devises the Hero Work Recommendation Project, to help to train the new generation of Heroes due All Might retirement. Weeks go by, and shortly after winter begins, after the Hero Interview Training, Class 1-A is sent to Nabu Island, a remote place in southern Japan. The Pro Heroes who protected the island are about to retire, so the students will take care of the place, performing duties as real heroes acting like their own "Hero Office", until the arrival of new Pro Heroes.

Denki charges the energy from a battery.

Because Nabu Island is quite isolated from the rest of the country, and therefore far from any villain activity, there has been no notable incident since the last thirty years. For this reason, their work on the island basically involve mostly minor deeds. Denki is sitting around in the Hero Agency headquarters on the island. Mina is taking calls and informs Denki that one of the neighbors, Mr. Matsuda, needs him to power up his tractor again. Denki complains about and says that the man should buy a new one. Even so, Denki goes to help the man

At night, after working all day, all Class 1-A students mention that despite they only did minor deeds, this kind of hero work is still hard, even though they're not fighting anyone. Then, the grateful island citizens bring a bunch of food for the kids as a token of appreciation for their help. After dinner, Denki, Hanta, Mashirao and other students invite Eijiro to join them at the onsen bath and says that Katsuki can't go because he has to patrol the grounds since he didn't do any hero work all day long. Katsuki complains, but the guys leave him be.

Denki attacks Mummy's puppets.

The next day, while Denki and several class 1-A students wait in the office waiting for a request, a neighbor and Fumikage arrive to report that the island is being attacked by a group of villains. Tenya quickly organize the class to face this crisis. He splits the Class into groups in order to deal with the separate threats: Katsuki, Eijiro, and Denki will go to the shopping district and intercept the villain with Momo, Kyoka, and Mina assist with medical evacuation.

Once they arrive, they save Yuga, Minoru and Toru from the villain Mummy. While Eijiro, Katsuki and Denki face Mummy’s puppets, Mina, Kyoka and Momo bring the others to safety as well as direct the citizens to the safe hold. During the battle, the villain is able to wrap Katsuki up and turned him into a mummified puppet and uses him to attack Eijiro and Denki. He proves too much for Denki and Eijiro but Katsuki is able to free himself and defeats the villain.

Momo and Denki creating supplies.

Eijiro and Denki congratulate Katsuki on his victory. Momo and Kyoka arrive to inform them that they have already evacuated all the citizens of the area. Denki and Eijiro stay with the rest, but Katsuki blasts off. When they asks where he's going, and Katsuki says he needs to fight the other villains on the island. However, later Katsuki is defeated along with Izuku by the leader of the gang, Nine, who must withdraw due to his illness.

At night, the students retreat to a factory to heal their wounds and provide first aid to the inhabitants of the island. Denki helps Momo as she creates supplies for the refugees with her Quirk, using his Electrification Quirk to power up the batteries she creates. Kyoka shows concern for both of them, as they are using their Quirks to the limit. Denki says he is alright, even though he is starting to get stupid because he has exceeded his wattage limit.

Denki acting as lightning rod.

Later, Class 1-A have a meeting where they discover that the objective of the villain leader, Nine, is to steal the Cell Activation Quirk from a boy named Katsuma. With this information, they devise a plan to approach them in front and keep civilians safe. The plan is to lure the villains to the furthest corner of the island where ancient castle ruins are. The next morning, when Nine and his crew arrive at the entrance to the island, the students put their plan into action and attack Nine’s gang, managing to disperse the villains and forcing them to face several students alone.

Because he had used his Quirk to the limit last night, Denki doesn't participate in the final battle at first, but he is crucial in defeating Nine. When Izuku and Katsuki confront the villain, he is forced to use his Weather Manipulation to strike them with a powerful lightning bolt, just as he had done in the previous battle. However, Izuku and Katsuki had foreseen that he would reuse the same trick for their first fight so they had Denki act as a lightning rod to absorb the Nine’s attack. Thanks to this, both manage to survive, although Denki has absorbed so much electricity that his brain has become overloaded, so he cannot continue helping his companions and passes out.

Fist bump.

While he is unconscious, Izuku and Katsuki manage to defeat Nine, saving the island and its inhabitants in the process. After Class 1-A emerged victorious over the threat, the military and a large number of heroes arrive on Nabu Island, rescuing the civilians and medically treating Class 1-A. The villains are arrested, and Class 1-A continues to stay on Nabu Island to help repair the damage done by Nine and his villains until the Public Safety Commission suspends the program and orders them to be sent home. With the island being repaired by the military and the heroes, Class 1-A boards a ferry to return to the U.A. High School.[59]

Endeavor Agency Arc

Denki and Hanta laugh at Katsuki.

Along with Hanta Sero, Denki makes fun of Katsuki because they find hilarious that all of Katsuki's footage from his interview after defeating a group of villains was cut out by the interview staff due his behavior. Later, he participates in a Hero Interview Training impart by Mt. Lady.[60]

Days later, the Hero Work Recommendation Project takes place, staying on Nabu Island before returning.[59]

Class 1-A's Christmas party.

On the night of Christmas Eve, at Heights Alliance, he celebrates Christmas with his classmates. He and Mina are constantly trying to get Katsuki into a Santa outfit. Despite Katsuki efforts to get rid of it, they eventually succeed. When the class holds a surprise gift exchange, Denki gets his own basketball gift and sheds a single tear over it.[61]

With Hero Work-Studies back in effect, he, Hanta Sero, Minoru Mineta, and Ibara Shiozaki go work for The Lurkers.[62]

My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission

Denki in the Egypt Task Force.

During the Work Studies, the entire team of The Lurkers joins the operation organized by the World Heroes Association to finish off Humarise, an anti-Quirk cult that had set off a Trigger Bomb in a city, causing a high number of victims. Therefore, the WHA has gathered a large force made up of heroes from around the world to assault the branches that Humarise has in 25 cities around the world. As one of The Lurkers' trainees, Denki joins the Egypt Task Force, where he meets Salaam.

The heroes leads an assault on a Humarise forward operating base in Cairo. Despite their successful raid, they have failed to locate the Trigger Bombs or their leader. The Egypt team were ordered to be on standby. During the time, they watch on the TV news that Izuku is framed for mass murder by the Otheon government. Denki, like his classmates, refuses to believe that Izuku would do something heinous and voices his opinion in defense of Izuku's innocences.

Denki fights against Humarise.

While they are stationed in Cairo the Humarise had publicly broadcasted to the entire world that they have planted the Trigger bombs in over twenty-five countries, one of which where Cairo is located, and they will detonate the bombs in two hours. As the result, Cairo was locked in a state of anarchy and chaos, so the Egypt team scrambled to quell the hysteria and locate the bombs. Denki, Hanta, and Minoru follows Salaam to locate the bomb.

Finally the heroes manage to find the bomb, having to engage in an all-out war against the Humarise agents. During the battle, they are informed that Izuku, Shoto, Bakugo, and Rody intend to storm Humarise's main base in order to defuse the bombs worldwide. Inspired by them, Denki also vows to fight to the end without rest. Denki manages to defeat several Humarise agents by electrocuting them with his Quirk.

The Lurkers celebrating that disaster has been averted.

The Lurkers manage to reach the bomb just as the countdown ends, but after a few seconds nothing happens, indicating that Deku's group had managed to deactivate the Trigger Bombs in time, saving the world from catastrophic destruction. With the main threat neutralized, the heroes defeat the last of Humarise's agents and seize the device, celebrating the victory.

Once the crisis has been averted, the team leave the country and return to Heights Alliance, meeting with the other classmates who also participated in the operation as well as those who remained in the school. Denki and Hanta take the opportunity to show Katsuki a Salaam merchandising item, something that doesn't interest him.[63]

Paranormal Liberation War Arc

Winter break is over, and so is the Hero Work-Studies. The students return to the U.A. to continue their studies and show their progress.[64] Denki, Hanta, and Minoru show off their teamwork and new team moves.[65] Later at night, Denki helps his classmates to organize a Work-Study/Brainstorm/Hot pot party to energize everyone for the new term.[66]

The Pro's begin to storm the hideout.

The months go by until it's late March. The Hero Public Safety Commission had uncovered the plans of Tomura Shigaraki and his organization, the Paranormal Liberation Front. They organize a large force of heroes to take the villain organization down. While a team of heroes raid the Jaku General Hospital, where the Nomu are created, another team does the same at Gunga Mountain Villa, the Front's main headquarters.

Denki participates in raiding the Gunga Mountain Villa from the front lines, alongside several Pro Heroes and his classmate Fumikage. Denki and Fumikage are the only Class 1-A students who are in the front line, with the rest of their classmates at their rear to catch any villain who slips past the front line, or participating in the evacuation of a city near another Liberation Front's hideout.[67][68]

Denki overcomes his fears and negates the commander's most powerful attack.

Denki doesn't like his situation at first and yells that he wants to be with his friends. Midnight tells him that he knew what he would be getting into, and to think of his role as helping the Heroes who don't have what it takes. He strongly disagrees, but Fumikage tells him that he found him amazing during the School Festival, which Denki misinterprets as trivializing their current situation.

Before Fumikage can explain, Cementoss rips the mansion open with his Quirk, alerting the villains within the mansion. As Denki panics even more, Midnight reassures him by saying that if he can't focus on random people elsewhere, then he should focus on the people who matter most to him. Denki looks back and thinks of his friends, especially Kyoka.

One of the Paranormal Liberation Front's commanders taunts the army of Heroes while using a taser to generate electricity for his Amplivolt Quirk before unleashing his Super Move, Supreme Discharge: Thundernet, to stop the Heroes in a single attack. To his surprise, Denki overcomes his anxieties and uses himself as a lightning rod to absorb the Super Move, all without any damage to himself. He triumphantly tells the Heroes to regroup and that the backup squad doesn't need to worry now that he can neutralize their greatest threat.[69]

Fat Gum takes the students away from the battle.

Denki continues struggling to hold off the other Paranormal Liberation Front members, showing no signs of tiredness too. The electric scarred villain recognizes Denki's Electrification Quirk and tells the other Electric-type Villains to unleash millions of bolts to override the former's powers, but before he can do it, he is defeated by Edgeshot.[70]

When student help is considered no longer necessary, Fat Gum picks up Denki, Fumikage, Juzo, and Kinoko, puts them into his belly to keep them protected and takes them away from the battlefield. When they are about to leave the place, Fumikage notices a blast of fire coming out of the mansion, fleetingly seeing his mentor Hawks in trouble.[71] Fumikage jumps out of his Fat Gum's body and flies back. Denki yells to ask what he is doing and Fumikage responds by saying that he is going to help his Hawks. Fat Gum ejects Denki, Juzo, and Kinoko from his body and tells them to run the rest of the way before running off to stop Fumikage.[72]

The future heroes ready to engage the enemy.

It seems that the heroes are going to win that battle, but the situation turns in favor of the villains when the team in charge of raiding Jaku's hospital fails to prevent Tomura Shigraki from waking up. After destroying the hospital and killing dozens of heroes with his Decay, Tomura orders Gigantomachia to come to him, bringing the League members with him.[73][74] This results in the giant defeating many heroes as he simply walked towards Jaku City.

Denki had already regrouped with the rest of the students at the Villa Backup Team when all this is happening. Kyoka is shocked when she detects Gigantomachia with her Quirk, and when Denki asks her what's wrong, she warns her teammates that something insanely huge is coming. Meanwhile, Midnight tries to stop Gigantomachia with her Quirk, but she is defeated by the League members. While lying on the ground badly injured, she contacts Momo saying that they must put Gigantomachia to sleep with an anesthetic, before losing contact.

Under the instructions of Midnight, Momo started conducting a plan to stop the villains, while Denki cheered the group up by saying that they're real heroes.[75] Momo creates vials filled with sedative and gives one to each teammate, so if one of them chucks it into Gigantomachia's mouth, he should fall asleep, and with the help of Juzo and Minoru, create a large trap for Gigantomachia. As they set up the trap, they are informed that the members of the League of Villains are riding on Gigantomachia's back.

Denki attempts to shock the PLF.

As they planned, Gigantomachia steps into the trap and falls to the ground, and the students begin their assault. While some try to make him swallow a vial, Denki and various teammates take it upon themselves to attack the League of Villains to prevent them from interfering. Denki previously gave Mezo and Mashirao several of his Pointers Disks from his Sharpshooting Gear. They throw them at the members of the League, sticking to their bodies. Then, with the help of Reiko Yanagi and her Quirk Poltergeist, Denki rises high enough, ready to launch a powerful electric shock without risk to his teammates. But before he can attack, he gets hit with debris released from marbles shot by Mr. Compress with his prosthetic.

The League of Villains and Gigantomachia manage to repel the assault, and Dabi creates a fire barrier to prevent the students from getting close.[76] The students outside the wall of flames try to contact the others, while Reiko has Denki resting on her lap, asking if he is okay and apologizing for messing up earlier. Denki weakly responds by saying the lap pillow is nice.

Despite being repelled, the students continue the assault, which now has the support of several heroes who had come to help them. Not without great difficulty, Eijiro gets Gigantomachia to swallow a vial with sedative. More heroes led by Majestic arrive to take charge of Gigantomachia now that he has ingested the sedative, because the more he moves the faster it will spread.[77] Gigantomachia, however, takes on an armored appearance and easily defeats the heroes, and continues on his way to Tomura. Before being defeated, Majestic uses his Quirk to bring the U.A. students to safety, who can only watch helplessly as the giant devastates everything in his path.[78]

In there aftermath of the War, Denki is one of the heroes admitted to Central Hospital for his injuries, albeit fairly minor, having a small scar over the part of his forehead where he was hit by the debris.[79] Days after being discharged from the hospital, Denki and the rest of Class 1-A receive letters from Izuku, in which he tells the truth about his Quirk and that All For One and Tomura are after him, so he must leave U.A. Denki is shown expressing shock and confusion in the sudden revelations.[80]

Tartarus Escapees Arc

A few days after Izuku left U.A., Denki is at a meeting with Class 1-A. He and his classmates deduce that Izuku is now working with Endeavor and his team. They also suggest that All Might is probably with them too, which Denki wonders is true since the media reported only the top three heroes are working together. A few days later, impatient with their response, Class 1-A pushed forward using Endeavor's U.A. Alumni status to confront him and learn the truth.

Class 1-A has arrived and defeated Dictator.

Once Principal Nezu gives Class 1-A permission to bring back Izuku to U.A., he dispatches with his class to search for Izuku while at the same time, apprehending any prison escapees along the way. After a month of trailing in Izuku's whereabouts, Class 1-A finally arrived on the scene to defeat the villain Dictator. When Izuku refuses to yield, he demands everyone to get out of his way, which means they'll have to fight him.[81]

In the fight against Izuku, he is restrained by Dark Shadow until he is restricted by a machine created by Momo. Noticing that the machine is designed to put him to sleep, Izuku destroys it with his head and tries to free himself, yelling for Class 1-A to stop wasting their time on him. Denki grabs ahold of him, telling Izuku that even though One For All is important, and they may not have any hobbies in common, he's still someone he considers a friend so he will force him to listen. Mezo uses his Dupli-Arms covered in Insulation Tape created by Momo cover up Izuku and Denki. As Denki sends his electrification through the containment trying to get him to resist, Izuku still manages to break free, blasting away from the building.[82]

After Tenya catches up to Izuku, and they land on the ground, Denki joins up with the rest of Class 1-A and listens to Katsuki apologizing to Izuku before he collapses from exhaustion. The class escorts Izuku safely back to a heavily fortified U.A. High where they are confronted by angry protesting civilians.[83] They are aware of Tomura targeting Izuku and worried for their safety, but after a pleading speech from Ochaco for them to help him and let him rest, they agree.[84]

After escorting him inside, Denki and the boys race Izuku to bathroom, stripping him of his dirty clothes, washing him vigorously, and then dumping him in the bathtub before joining in. After Izuku finally passes out, and the class talks about the still nervous evacuees, Kyoka drags together her former bandmates, including, Denki, stating that just like the last time there were other people that regarded them with apprehension, they need to do something to reassure them and bring smiles to their faces, just like they did at the Culture Festival. Class 1-A comes back together, as they declare they won’t just bring the world back to how it was, but to make it a better place than before, and do it all together.[85]

U.A. Traitor Arc

Two days later, Class 1-A learn that during this time, Tomura had fought American No. 1 Hero, Star and Stripe, and while she was killed during the battle with Tomura successfully stealing her Quirk, New Order, thanks to her actions, the Quirk acted like a virus within his body, destroying several of his Quirks and delaying his procedure by about a week. All Might informs all this to the class, telling them that this is now their perfect time to prepare for the inevitable all-out war. The class reveals over the past month they had been training with the Wild, Wild Pussycats in order to keep up with Izuku in the incoming conflict, and are now about to head out to continue their training.[86]

Denki and Class 1-A are devastated by Yuga's betrayal.

The class proceed to train amongst themselves in the courtyards outside. During a break, Denki discusses with Minoru about how with Tomura and All For One currently weakened and Gigantomachia still sedated, the fight should be easier for them, but Katsuki and Momo tells him the three reasons why they’re wrong: that All For One is a master of "hide-and-seek" they are unlikely to find, that Tomura was previously incomplete and that they are now working with half the Heroes, and that the villains will have the edge in deciding when the battle starts. The explanations cause Denki to recoil on his behalf.

Izuku says they need to try and dictate how they enter the fight, and that's why they'll be going to rejoin the search soon. Denki then adds that even with his back against the wall, All For One’s still the one with the grin on his face.[87]

Shortly after this, he and the class receive the news that Izuku has captured the Aoyama Family and revealing Yuga to be the traitor who isolated the class at the U.S.J. and revealed the location of their training camp.

Once the Aoyamas are restrained, he and the other classmates refuse to back down from the news despite Nezu's request, all in stunned and tears of Yuga's betrayal, with Denki and Shoto bluntly refusing to let the revelation slide. He listens to Yuga's desperation that drove him to despair and then Izuku pleading to let Yuga help them.[88] Izuku's continued explanation on how they have no way to track down All For One leads Denki to realize his point about "steering the villains" to enter the fight, with the class seeing that Yuga may be the only one able to deceive All For One.

Denki and the others vow to bring All For One down.

Present Mic asks Class 1-A why, with them being the greatest victims after all this, they're so willing to trust him, and Tenya simply responds that what happened is in the past, and with them being unable to realize how he's been feeling all this time, they carry some responsibility, so they must reach out to him as friends in order for them to become equals again.

Shota appears on a tablet screen, taking full responsibility and reveals that he has an idea. He listened to Shota's plan after the Aoyama Family's ears have been covered. Naomasa then has the Aoyama Family escorted back to their HQ, telling everyone not to say a word to anyone else about the plan while he and the rest of the class looking on sullenly.

Back at Heights Alliance, Denki takes a breather, before getting ready to gear back up, as he and everyone, with fire and rage in their eyes over the betrayal, prepares to bring All For One down once and for all.[89] He joins up with their "Search Squad" to head out to hunt down the villains.[90]

Current Arc

Eight days and eight nights of endless search for the villains that escaped Tartarus and All For One, they ended up with nothing and no information about their whereabouts. After returning to Heights Alliance, Denki was so exhausted that he collapsed on the ground to sleep the moment he arrives in the living room after his endless search efforts. Toshinori, Naomasa, and Nezu came to the dormitory, and informs them all about their secret finalized plans for the upcoming second War and calls in Hitoshi Shinso, much to the class' delight.

The next day, Nezu announces to the civilians that Tomura will make his big move in 4 days, with Class 1-A moving outside of the U.A barrier to began prioritizing their safety. He say goodbye to his family members one last time before heading out. He moves out of Heights Alliance and moves into its upgraded makeshift fortress called "Troy".

Denki and other electrical heroes charge the electric barrier of the U.A Flying Sky Fortress.

There, Denki remains with Class 1-A until Izuku made contact with Yuga to a deserted location. He waits with the other heroes until All For One is drawn out to finally capture Izuku and One For All.

By the time the battle against All For One begins, Denki is assigned to the U.A Flying Sky Fortress with Manga Fukidashi and other students with electrical Quirks to power the systems and the electromagnetic barrier, with the former two especially charged up to help their plan succeed in trapping Tomura Shigaraki.
