Day Dream (ブレイン・リモード Burein Rimōdo?) is the Quirk used by Deborah Gollini.

Description[]

Day Dream allows the user to make any person they look at fall unconscious, or be put into a controllable, hypnotic state for a short period of time. Once they are locked onto a target just by sight alone, the victim's mind will be stuck in a dream-like world where they live out their deepest dreams and desires, rendering them nearly comatose.

Under normal conditions, Deborah is only able to activate her Quirk on one person at a time, but when her Quirk Factor is amplified by Overmodification, she can use it on a near endless amount of people.

Weaknesses[]

The Quirk requires full visual eye contact with her victim, meaning that the Quirk doesn't work on anyone who is blind or doesn't have organic eyes, like Giulio's prosthetic one. The Quirk's effects can be lifted off its victims if Deborah sustains a significant injury in the real world.

The victims of Day Dream are also capable of breaking free from their fantasy if they are made aware of the fact by another person, and become capable of manipulating their body in the real world to a limited extent.

Her Quirk also doesn't prevent artificial body parts from acting independently in the real world, as Giulio's real body was able to unconsciously attack Deborah once his robotic eye recognized her and activated his prosthetics in response.

Trivia[]

  • This Quirk is similar to Brainwashing, as it allows its user to put targets in a controllable, hypnotic state. Both however use different activation methods, Day Dream through sight and Brainwashing through conversation, and the latter's victims can seemingly carry out a wider range of commands by comparison.
    • Whereas for Brainwashing, the effect will be undone if the victim receives some semblance of pain, Day Dream is undone when the user is injured.
