If we're really in the clear, then... kid... no... Koichi... I've got a request for you. Give a message to my wife and child. Tell them, "Your husband and daddy was a great hero."
Christopher Skyline to Koichi Haimawari in "Limits and Catastrophe"

Christopher Skyline (クリストファー・スカイライン Kurisutofā Sukairain?), also known as Playboy Hero: Captain Celebrity (キャプテン・セレブリティ Kyaputen Sereburiti?), is a top-ranked American Pro Hero in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.

Appearance[]

Christopher is a very tall, well-built man with a cleft chin, angular nose and a sharp, chiseled jaw. His hair is styled like a mohawk of blonde hair swept back along the top of his head, and he has small, downward-tilting eyes with quite long eyelashes.

His hero costume consists of a cerulean skin-tight bodysuit, cut off at his knees and halfway own his upper arms, with yellow trims and a tick-like logo with a red star in the center stamped onto his chest, a thick black line running down each side of his suit. He wears matching shin-pads and shoulder-pads, as well as a yellow belt with a large buckle, a long red cape and a dark blue-tinted visor.

Personality[]

Christopher is very much a stereotypical American jock, arrogant and self-confident to a fault with an overwhelming love of attention and praise. As a result, he's often prone to showing off for the cameras even during a crisis, and is reluctant to deploy before his media team is in place.

Regardless his wife has described him as "too kind", and his constant showing off and bombastic personality are in part due to an honest desire to make people smile and win their affection. He is rarely malicious and truly heroic in a crisis, but his poor judge of character, lack of tact, and inability to be authentic often leads him to coming off as superficial and false.

He is also a well-known playboy and a flirt, despite being married, something that has earned him nicknames such as "Captain Troublemaker" and "The Flying Stallion". This flirtatious attitude has also led to several lawsuits, to the point where his ex-wife Pamela has pretty much made a business with them. This seems mostly down to his obsession with his alpha male image and desire for attention. Indeed, Makoto Tsukauchi puts most of his troubles down to entrapment within ridiculous scandals and he denies actively cheating, though his lack of self-reflection means that he's often not even aware when his behavior could be considered inappropriate.

This isn't helped by him being notably macho and a playboy, being eager to carry pretty ladies to safety but showing great reluctance to be seen rescuing men.

Despite these issues, spending a year under Makoto's management and learning that he was going to be a father prompted him to stop his skirt chasing ways and become someone a child could respect. After an incident involving a villain's suicide-bombing, he was forced to compromise his own safety for the sake of civilians caught in the crossfire, which left him rather humbled. While some of his extravagant qualities have remained, Christopher has managed to see his own flaws and improve himself, both as a person and a hero.

Abilities[]

Captain Celebrity Superhuman Strength

Overall Abilities: Christopher is a professional hero from the U.S, a highly experienced trained civil servant and Quirk user, who does his best to maintain the peace, boost public morale, deter crime and becoming a person who is now more willing to listen and accept help from others in order to improve. Captain Celebrity has developed to become one of the most influential heroes in canon, building a more positive and respectable reputation, while being the only known hero other than All Might to build valuable connections in both the U.S and Japan. Christopher has proved to be one of the most capable heroes, far surpassing the majority of heroes in Japan except All Might, only being able to outdo the Symbol of Peace in different ways, such as learning earlier to build and maintain more healthier supportive relationships, accept help, consider others, use basic wisdom and perform tasks such as sea rescue more effectively thanks to superhuman strength and high speed flight.

  • Tactical Intellect: Christopher possesses incredible tactical mastery over his Quirks abilities, fully utilizing its powers to his benefit. His tactical intellect is best shown by how he's able to share his aerodynamic barrier, being able to decisively shape it to fully protect civilians while minimizing any potential vulnerability to himself, such as when he rescued three children from an explosion and used his barrier to protect the part of Sky Egg he was holding from his assailant.
  • Enhanced Reaction: Captain Celebrity has extensively shown great reflexes and reaction time, this can be observed by how he was able to instantaneously react to an imminent surprise explosion in order to protect the lives of three children. Captain Celebrity was even able to catch Koichi while falling with his weakened reflexes, just after being assaulted with explosions and reaching his limit in order to protect the vigilante.
  • Enhanced Stamina: Captain Celebrity was able to maintain carrying the Sky Egg observatory full of people while enduring serious injuries until full reinforcements came to handle the collapsing structure allowing all civilians to be rescued and evacuated from the premises.

Quirk[]

Flight ( () (こう) Hikō?): Christopher's Quirk grants him tactile telekinesis and allows him to fly at high speeds, while utilizing his own personal force field of telekinetic energy.

  • Aerodynamic Barrier: The telekinetic energy field surrounding him protects him from the cold, heat, explosions and other physical harm. This field of protection can be extended to cover other people, but it gets thinner the more people he protects with it. He can also extend it around objects to keep them from crumbling under their own weight.
  • Immense Strength: Christopher's telekinetic energy boosts his physical might to boundless levels almost equal to All Might, giving him enough strength to topple Godzilla and King Kong-sized villains with his punches, lift cruise liners out of the ocean and holding up the Tokyo Sky Egg with 50,000 people in it.[1]
  • Immense Speed: Christopher is able to fly and react at higher speeds than most heroes, the abilities of his Quirk protecting his body from the ill effects of rapid acceleration, friction, g-force, inertia etc. The most notable use of his speed was the rapid efficient sharing of his aerodynamic barrier to protect the lives of three children from an imminent surprise explosion that left him with minor injuries.

Trivia[]

  • Christopher's favorite foods are hamburgers and steak.[2]
  • Captain Celebrity is similar to the DC superhero Superboy, a.k.a. Conner Kent, as both are Superman-like heroes who have flirtatious attitudes, love media-attention and fame, and are each very arrogant, though both come to be respectable and sincere heroes in time. They also both possess tactile telekinetic abilities.
    • He also shares similar personality traits to the DC superhero Booster Gold.
  • Christopher shares his birthday with Inko Midoriya, Wolfram, and Cathleen Bate.
    • Coincidentally, Christopher's birthday is on American Independence Day, which is something he shares with the other major American Pro Hero in the series, Cathleen.
