Martial Hero: Blackbelt (格闘ヒーロー: クロオビ Kakutō Hīrō: Kuroobi?) is a Pro Hero in My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions.[1]

Appearance[]

Blackbelt is a young man with long, messy hair. He is somewhat muscular.

Blackbelt's hero costume seems intended to reflect a stereotypical martial artist, with a metal headband, loose robes, and a large belt. He wears light facial makeup.

Personality[]

Blackbelt's main goal as a hero is to be well-known and liked, and is intent on creating an image as a medieval martial arts master. He attempts to speak in an outdated, almost Shakespearean form, though usually speaks normally and corrects himself to his intended schtick. He also creates overly complicated martial arts techniques, though he doesn't actually use them in combat.

Despite his need for positive attention, Blackbelt still takes his duties as a hero seriously, and prioritizes rescuing those in need over increasing his fame. Due to this, he was generally mocked, which nearly demotivated him from continuing as a Pro Hero and almost caused him to retire.

Before Mei Hatsume created a camera able to capture his full speed, he was mockingly called "Hundo-Hit-Man" (百連撃 (ひゃくれんげき) さん Hiyakurengeki-san?, literally meaning "Mr. 100 Consecutive Attacks") by people who thought he was lying about his speed.

Synopsis[]

Past[]

Around 10 years ago, Blackbelt began working as a Pro Hero.

Team-Up Missions[]

During the Team-Up Missions program, Momo Yaoyorozu, Denki Kaminari, and Mei Hatsume were sent to produce support items for Blackbelt. When they arrived, they learned that he wanted to be well-known as a hero, and after learning about his Quirk, attempted to create support items that would bring attention to him. However, when they were unable to do so, Blackbelt decided he would retire from being a Pro Hero, resolved to never achieve fame.

However, after learning of his mocking nickname, Mei came up with the idea for a super-high-speed camera drone that could capture his quick movements. The trio of students finished the drone just in time for Blackbelt to go stop a robbery, and streamed his fight from the camera; when civilians realized he wasn't lying about his 100 consecutive hits, they apologized for making fun of him, and began cheering him on. Motivated by his sudden acknowledgement, Blackbelt decided not to retire, and continued on as a Pro Hero.

Abilities[]

Quirk[]

Fast Fist ( (そく) Sokuken?): Blackbelt's Quirk allows him to move his fist exceptionally quickly. He is capable of hitting 100 times in less than a second, making it appear like a single attack to the naked eye.
