I'm here. That's why the red dot of Singapore is too big for the world to ignore.
Big Red Dot in Volume World Heroes

Big Red Dot (ビッグ・レッド・ドット Biggu Reddo Dotto?) is the top Singaporean Pro Hero in My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission.

Appearance[]

Big Red Dot is a seemingly well-built man. He has the head of a lion, and presumably webbed feet.

When in his hero costume, he wears a sleeveless, light blue wetsuit with a belt that has a design reminiscent of flowing water. He also wears arm guards that go up to his elbows, along with shoulder pads that each have the Singaporean flag on them. He also sports a small, domino mask.

Personality[]

Big Red Dot is a caring and loyal companion to his friends, especially All Might, the most powerful Japanese hero of his time. He also seems to be kind and just. He's also the Number 1 Hero of Singapore, which judging from previous characteristics, may mean that he has a strong heart and is willing to sacrifice himself to save others.

Synopsis[]

My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission[]

Big Red Dot and the Singapore team seized and apprehend the Humarise branch.

Big Red Dot and the Singapore team seized and apprehend the Humarise branch.

A few days ago, an anti-Quirk terrorist organization known as Humarise had committed a terrorist bombing that caused the deaths of thousands of people by setting off a Trigger Bomb in a city. In response to this terrorist attack, the World Heroes Association had organized an international operation to raid all the branches that Humarise has in the world in an effort to defeat the terrorist organization.

Big Red Dot is joined by Majestic and his Work-Study trainees, Momo Yaoyorozu and Setsuna Tokage, in the Singapore Task Force to storm and take control of the Humarinse branch in Singapore and locate the bombs. When everything is ready, they start the storming of the base. Despite some resistance, the Singapore Task Force was able to seize control of the building, but they have failed to locate the Trigger Bobs or apprehend the leader Flect Turn. The results were the same in the rest of the raids across the world so the WHA Director orders all the task forces to remain on alert in the countries that were assigned to them.

Big Red Dot uses his Quirk to blow the Trigger Bomb away while Momo covers him.

Days later, Humarise hijacks all telecommunication and announces globally that they have placed the Trigger Bombs in twenty-five cities around the world, and that they will explode in less than two hours. To further attract the greatest number of heroes to the prepared trap, they indicate in which cities are found. Their ultimatum causes widespread panic throughout the twenty-five countries, so the WHA gives the Heroes the greenlight to scramble in defense to quell the mass hysteria and locate the Trigger Bomb.

One by one, the Heroes in each sector engage in an all-out war against the Humarise sleeper agents guarding the bombs, delaying their effort to stop the detonation. Big Red Dot and his team locate the Trigger Bomb and he uses his Quirk, Tidal Bore, to bring the Trigger Bomb high in the sky to avoid detonating in the populated area. While doing so, Momo provides cover and fends off against the Humarise agents trying to stop him.

Big Red Dot congratulates Momo on a job well-done.

Fortunately, the other Heroes in Otheon were successful in defusing all of the Trigger Bombs, defeating Flect Turn and the higher-ranking members of Humarise in the process. With the terrorist plot foiled, all the surviving Humarise members are arrested and the Trigger Bombs are safely removed.[2]

Dark Hero Arc[]

Big Red Dot frustrated at not being able to help Japan.

Big Red Dot frustrated at not being able to help Japan.

In the aftermath of the Paranormal Liberation War, All For One has escaped from Tartarus, and proceeded to break into several more maximum security prisons, liberating the inmates. Due to the chaos inflicted by Gigantomachia and the mass breakout of prisoners, the whole country entered a state of total chaos and anarchy. In addition, many heroes resigned and called it quits because of the massive criticism of their work, and the destruction spreading unchecked.

Because of this, All Might sends an emergency request for assistance to various foreign countries to lend support in Japan. Several foreign heroes, including Salaam and Big Red Dot, state their insistence on wanting to help. However, he is frustrated that the government cannot allow him to be sent in order to keep the chaos in his country at bay.[3]

Final War Arc[]

While Big Red Dot continues to stay at Singapore to keep the country from descending into further chaos, he observes the live broadcasts of the Final War between the Heroes and Villains in Japan, including the battles against Tomura and All For One.[4] Eventually, all the Heroes in Japan managed to band together to fight against Tomura until Tomura was finally defeated by Izuku Midoriya.[5]

Epilogue Arc[]

Big Red Dot answers questions in an interview.

One week since the Final War ends, restoration efforts that were stalled after the Jaku Hospital Raid picked back up at a breakneck pace. Big Red Dot and the Heroes from Singapore and all around the world arrived to provide support and resources in rescue and rebuilding Japan. Big Red Dot tells a reporter that after seeing the wild fight they could not sit back and do nothing as more Heroes are rebuilding the country back up.[6]

Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: Big Red Dot is regarded as Singapore's top hero in the country, earning notion from even the greatest hero of Japan, All Might.

Trivia[]

  • Big Red Dot's appearance and Quirk may be a reference to the Merlion of Singapore.
    • Additionally, Big Red Dot's name may be based on "Little red dot", a nickname given to Singapore for its placement on world maps and it was originally an insult given by the 3rd president of Indonesia, B. J. Habbie.
  • Big Red Dot, along with Salaam, are the first movie-original characters to be both directly shown and named in the manga.
  • His favorite food is bak kut teh, a pork rib soup well-known in Malaysia and Singapore. When he sees it, his mouth waters uncontrollably.
