The Avant-Garders (アバンギャルズ Aban Gyaruzu?) is a group of artists from My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions. They believed in explosions as the ultimate version of art, and caused them to create art.[1]
Appearance[]
The group is made up of three members, each with a different stereotypical artist persona.
Overview[]
The Avant-Garders consist of three young men who believe that the ultimate form of art is an explosion, specifically the moment of the explosion. To this end, they blow up others' art and studios. All three of the members have art-based Quirks, and they love explosion-based Quirks, such as Katsuki Bakugo's Explosion.
Synopsis[]
Team-Up Missions[]
In Palette Villa, the Avant-Garders spent their time blowing up the studios and artwork of others. Due to this, a Team-Up Mission group was sent to arrest them, consisting of Present Mic, Deku, Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, and Shoto. Upon being confronted, the Avant-Garders refuted the claims they were damaging others' property, arguing that they were simply creating art through explosions.
The Avant-Garders' open their Fear Exhibit.
As the Heroes prepared to arrest the group, the Avant-Garders fought back, trapping Dynamight with 2D-ify and Deku with Cubism. With the Heroes disoriented, the Avant-Garders used Spray Art to create a cloud of paint, making their escape. However, using Present Mic's hearing, Shoto was able to freeze them even without seeing them, disabling their Quirks.
Freed from his painting prison, Dynamight set off an explosion, to the Avant-Garders joy. However, upon being hit with powerful explosions themselves, they quickly determined that explosions actually weren't art, and they were wrong to think so. Defeated, the group was arrested, and paid for their crimes.
Sometime later, their sentences over, the Avant-Garders set up a "Fear Exhibit" themed around Dynamight.
