Anan Kurose (黒瀬亜南,Kurose Anan?), also known as Space Hero: Thirteen (スペースヒーロ・13号,Supēsu Hīrō Jū-san Gō?), is a Pro Hero who specializes in search and rescue, and a faculty member of U.A. High School.[2]
Anan is a young woman with short, lightly-colored hair, as well as some lighter bangs on the top, simulating a spiral. Her irises have rings around them, resembling the first concepts given to depict black holes.[3]
Her costume consists of a white space suit design using what appears to be a puffy jacket instead of an actual suit, a black helmet with white eyes, and a pair of yellow boots.
During the Paranormal Liberation War, her helmet was partially cracked, revealing parts of her face for the first time, namely her light hair worn in bangs and her right, light-colored eye. Both her arms were greatly injured in the conflict.[4][5]

Personality
Anan is a wise, well-mannered woman. As a rescue hero, Anan has displayed how passionate she is about saving people through her teachings. She even developed her own training facility - the Unforeseen Simulation Joint - to train future heroes in search and rescue tactics. She is very passionate about Quirks, specifically Quirks used for creation and assistance rather than for destruction and battle. Regardless, she preaches about her own Quirk being dangerous enough to take someone's life and encourages her students to use their powers for good as heroes.
Anan has also been shown to be very brave. Despite not being a combat type, she does not hesitate to use her Quirk to fight against villains for the sake of protecting others.
Abilities
Quirk
Black Hole (ブラックホール,Burakku Hōru?): Anan's Quirk allows her to replicate a black hole suction effect from her fingertips. The suction is very powerful and not even light can escape it. Anything sucked into the black hole will be disintegrated into dust.

Equipment
High Density Weights (Final Exams Arc): Anan and the rest of the teachers use these bracelets to give themselves a handicap while they are fighting their students.
Anan's surname contains the kanji for "black" (黒,kuro?) and "rapids, current" (瀬,se?), and her first name contains a particle used to mean "sub-" (亜,a?) and "south" (南,nan?).
According to the official Twitter page, Thirteen's prototype was named No. 6., while her real name would have been "Hirooki Anakuro" (穴黒央宙, literally "Middle Space").
Anan and Kosei Tsuburaba are the only characters in the main series so far to receive more than one volume character profile.
Anan likes museums and self-learning documentaries.
Her hero name, along with her astronaut-themed costume, is likely to be a reference to Apollo 13, NASA's space mission that was made popular by the "Houston, we have a problem" line.
In the localization, Anan was initially described using "he/him" pronouns.
This was later retconned in the anime using "she/her".
In the second databook, Anan is confirmed to be female using "she/her".[1]
