I have to deliver this. If I don't... the world will be destroyed!
Alan Kay in "World Heroes' Mission"

Alan Kay (アラン・ケイ Aran Kei?) is a researcher who was forced to work for Flect Turn in My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission.

Appearance[]

Alan Kay is a disheveled-looking, adult man with dark brown hair and gray eyes, wearing an eye patch that covers his right eye which is scarred underneath.

He is seen wearing a white shirt along with brown pants and shoes.

Personality[]

From what was seen of him, Alan Kay had shown to be a brave and courageous person. While he was forced to join Humarise and develop the Trigger Bombs, he had escaped from the organization in order to get the deactivation key - created by his colleague Eddie Soul at the cost of his life - to the right people as to stop the cult's genocidal plan to eradicate Quirk users worldwide.

Even when pursued by Humarise and faced with the likelihood of death, Alan left a recorded message in the suitcase containing the deactivation key, praying to whomever would find it to use the key and stop Humarise's plan, demonstrating his willingness for self-sacrifice and his determination to save the world.

Synopsis[]

Alan Kay was one of the scientists kidnapped by Humarise, a terrorist cult who considers Quirks a plague upon humanity, and forced to join them under the threat that their families would be killed. As a result, he had no choice but to help create the organization's Trigger Bombs, devices that would release Ideo Trigger gas and cause the Quirks of innocent people to go berserk, causing mass destruction from their uncontrollable powers and eventually dying from the enhanced drawbacks on the body. Humarise hid these devices in their various branches across the world, planning to eradicate Quirk users worldwide, sparing only themselves and the Quirkless in an effort to "save" humanity.

However, it turns out that Alan's colleague, Eddie Soul, an engineer who was forced to join the cult as well, had created a deactivation key containing a kill code for all the Trigger Bombs. Unfortunately, Eddie's treachery against Humarise was discovered and he was executed as a result. Alan managed to get his hands on the deactivation key and chose to escape with it so he could deliver it to the heroes and stop Humarise's plans of global genocide.

Following Humarise's first terrorist attack on a city, where one of the Trigger Bombs was detonated causing mass death and destruction, Alan disguised as one of their masked members to escape from the organization. He carried with him a suitcase containing files, books and documents, as well as the deactivation key and a microSD in a hidden compartment, both of which were locked inside a puzzle box. However Humarise's leader, Flect Turn, became aware of Alan's escape and knew what he was carrying and thus sent members to kill him and retrieve the case containing the only key that would stop their plans.

After escarping, Alan had managed to acquire a car and drove across a highway in an attempt to deliver the suitcase to the authorities. He was pursued by Beros however, who fired arrows at him with her Longbow Quirk, piercing his car and causing it to crash. Shoto Todoroki, who was currently in pursuit of a jewelry heist getaway alongside Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo, chose to divert himself to help with the highway incident. During the crash however, Alan lost the briefcase, and it ended up getting swapped with one filled with stolen jewelry that Rody Soul was carrying as a part of a delivery job.

Alan was recovered from the car wreck and hospitalized, being left in critical condition with the Otheon police guarding him. Clair Voyance reports to Shoto that Alan was a member of Humarise, causing the hero in training to lament that they cannot interrogate him since he's inactive from the crash.

Following Izuku and Rody surviving another attack from Humarise and reuniting with Katsuki and Shoto, who helped save them. The four find the puzzle box in the case's hidden compartment. Recognizing the puzzle from one his father once gave him, Rody was able to solve it, finding the microSD and the deactivation key. The four then go to a hotel in Klayd to access the microSD and find an audio file left by Alan. He introduces himself as a scientist forced to work for Humarise and explains their true goal: to use the Trigger Bombs as a decoy to lure all the heroes out and eradicate them all at once. The recording of Alan reveals the device to be the deactivation key for the bombs, created by Eddie Soul at the cost of his life, and he pleads to whomever has it to use the key and stop the cult's plans. The young men take this in, while Rody discovers the truth about his father: that he never abandoned him and his younger siblings, and his sadness was reflected by his Quirk and companion, Pino, who cried after learning of Eddie's death.

Following an announcement that Humarise would detonate the Trigger Bombs in the next 2 hours, Katsuki manages to decode through the data and find the location of Humarise's home base, where they had to take the key to switch off the bombs. Rody flies the hero students to the base, where they fought through the cult's forces. While things seem to take a bleak turn, Rody manages to trick Flect Turn into dropping his guard and gets past him, going down into the control room. Rody passes out from being shot through the chest, but Pino manages to insert the key which shuts off the bombs, succeeding in Alan and Eddie's place and saving the world.[1]
